first off… thank you for responding, and quickly.

im not sure what words are need to make it clear, that i do not have any anti virus any thing. (anti virus was a common thing i seen on every post, so that was done before i posted) even defender is disabled because of how much it was slowing down my computer, i went out of my way to disable it… was a real pain to disable on win 10, but since im back on win 7 it was a bit easier to disable… and we dont have to worry about some bloat ware install i dont know about.

now i have not tried that specific version of .net, so i will try that once i get home…

and about changing the .ini file, that does seem helpful because when i launch skyrim any ways the error i get does says something about not seeing a rift. i was assuming that is why i needed to get to the config screen. but that alone might at least get it working with out the config screen.

any ways, i will try these things tonight. thank you again for responding.

i finally talked myself in to buying this software, and i cant get the config screen to open. got the vorp icon in my bar down there by the clock, but if i click on it… vorpconfig has stopped working.

ive disconnected 2nd monitor, disabled all anti-everything, .net installs, looked over .dll files, turned off nvidia control panel. ive looked over what i can find on the forums.

i even made a short cut to skyrim using vorp, and tried to do something but just crashed too, so figure i needed to start with the config crash.

    running 1070 and htc vive.

Hi. i’ve looked around the forum and have mostly found fixes involving mods for vanilla Skyrim. Is there any good fix for the big hands issue for SE?

Hello I have a problem with fallout4 in DirectVR mode.
DirectVR works perfectly on skyrim with mod
and NewVegas with mod but when I try on fallout4
without any mod and vanillia ini file I encounter the following problem

The screen freeze when launching the Rotation scan
And the PC no longer responds for 5 to 10 minutes
if I do a CtrlAltSupp I see that several
windows process uses 100% disk and the scan is unresponsive

    system (ntoskrnl.exe)
    com surrgate (dllhost.exe)
    processus hôte de service (svchost.exe)
    antimalware service executable (MsMpEng.exe)
    runtime broker (RuntimeBroker.exe)

I have blocked several windows processes
and this disk usage problem only occurs in
Fallout4 during the scan, I no longer experience this problem at startup
because it is a common problem on windows 10

I updated the profile by downloading from the cloud

Here is the list of exceptions I added to windows defender
    So it does not scan:

    Files and folder :
    Animation Labs\VorpX (folder)
    Animation Labs\vorpxConfig.exe
    Animation Labs\vorpxControl.exe
    Animation Labs\vorpxControl64.dat
    Animation Labs\vorpxDesktop.exe
    steamapps\common\Fallout 4 (folder)
    ProgramFiles (x86)\Windows Defender (folder)
    Program Files\Windows Defender (folder)
    Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe
    ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX (folder)

    Process:
    vorpxControl
    vorpxControl.exe
    vorpxControl64
    vorpxControl64.dat
    vorpx
    vorpX VR Driver Control
vorpX VR Driver Control (32 bits)
    vorpXscan64
    vorpXscan64.exe

I also tried without windows defender by installing
    Avast but nothing change.

with the many test I did with different savegame
and in different cell the worst is that it succeeded only once
the scan rotation and fov was ok and i was able to enjoy the game in DirectVR
but since then it’s always the same problem that forces me
sometimes to force reboot if the CtrlAltSupp does not work.

I don’t know what to try next
then if you have an idea I thank you in advance.

Sorry english is not my first language.
I use FallOut4 In French could it be the problem ?
I notice during the problem that the notification icon
for the volume was on mute and came back normal when i quit fallout.

I don’t have any mods (I deleted everything minus saves… including ini files… reinstalled… started… quit… Ran Game Settings Optimizer for fallout 4. Tried again.

This time, I started from scratch (previously I was running a new game that was just out of the vault… I started over).

I got the first two working, but not the last one (positional I believe). Ran through the vault. Got outside and tried again (still only the first two worked). Saved… Loaded… and now only the first two are working again :(

Also, I’m still only getting the Aspect Ratio when launching for 16:9 in the graphic adapter settings. I’m guessing this is part of the problem. The dropdown itself is grayed out. I also don’t have an option to select all available resolutions like in Skyrim.

If I start in windowed mode, I get 16:10 also, but still no 4:3.

Should I be modifying the ini file for the resolution and trying again?

    Thanks
    Drake

I’m getting the first DirectVR to work, but the FOV and the POV are both failing. I reloaded the game and reset the ini files. I’m trying with the Vive now, but also tried it with the rift and had similar results.

I also did the optimize setting vorpx

One weird thing, I’m not seeing the right resolution when I launch. I’m not sure if that’s the issue. Also, I don’t get this in skyrim, but it comes up with a warning “Fallout 4 will launch into an environment in your VR HMD as well as on your desktop… ” I’m not sure if that’s normal.

Anyway, would love to see this working as well as I got skyrim.
    Thanks
    Drake

Hey, ive been playing skyrim(dx9) and new vegas. My fps is usually around 45 -60 but OCULUS ASW is never triggered. Is there some setting i need to turn on, because i definitely want to try if ASW improves my experience with these games?

    hi, do have racemenu installed?

her are the settings for length of arm , scaling and so on…
BTW today i reinstalled skyrim due to five years of heavy modding creating annoying bugs.
After restart and some basic mods reinstalled i can say the best solution for such problems ist a fresh install.
Skyrim seems to run smoother and of course bug free….

Adjust the detail settings in the Skyrim launcher. Running the game (any game) with vorpX is a lot more demanding than running it on your monitor, mostly due to the stereo rendering. You should make sure that games run at 45fps, which you can check with ALT+F. 45fps is what is required for a comfortable experience.

Also make sure to run the Direct VR scanner in games with Direct VR support (you see a message about that when starting a game if that is the case). That takes care of head tracking.

Did you run the Direct VR scanner after entering the actual gameworld to adjust field of view and head tracking?

Direct VR games (incl. Skyrim) are the ones that work best. Current games with Direct VR support are: Fallout 4, Skyrim, Skyrim Special Edition, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, Borderlands 2, Bishock (original), Bioshock 2 (original), Bioshock Infinite, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Black Mesa Source. More to come shortly.

Hey, I just installed vorpx, and have only tried skyrim so far. Probably not the best first game.

What games work the best just so I can see how far vorpx has come?

The remaining change after disabling the latency enhancement is related to positional tracking, which can also be disabled if you consider the glitch more important. The next vorpX version will come with *EXPERIMENTAL* positional Direct VR for Skyrim, which won’t show this behavior (but may introduce other gitches).

Hey all, I am having a similar problem to the one szeliga90 described in his post here:

… Whenever I move my headset up and down (changing angle not position) water changes its level. It’s visible most of all when I look at the river from the top of a mountain, and when I change the angle of my head about 45 degrees river can loose even 50% of its depth. That doesn’t happen at all when I moving ‘character’ head using mouse. Any idea what could causing it?

I’ll add to this that the level of the water surface appears to change even when I am in the map screen, based on the orientation of my headset (a Vive). It makes for a very nauseating experience whenever I am around water.

I was using some of the same mods as szeliga90 was using (Static Mesh Improvement and Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch) but disabling them has done nothing, so I have deleted the game and am trying a completely vanilla install. But if there is a simple answer to the problem I would really appreciate it.
