Just in case you didn’t do that already: you need to import this profile for Skyrim Special Edition. It’s not in the default database yet.
Yes you were right. I copied the profile in the vorpx folder – that was my fault. Drag and drop – very easy ;-))
the pimax is working now in 3d with vorpx.
( the drift of the pimax headtracker is horrible)
but why was skyrim se working with the vive ?
best regards
That sounds rather odd. Please check whether you can see the “Elder Scrolls Skyrim – SE” entry in the local profile list of the vorpX config app and that you can select the 3D mode in the vorpX ingame menu. If not, the profile is not imported correctly.
I assume you have vorpX configured as “HTC VIve” when using it with your Pimax. If that is the case, vorpX works the exact same way as with an actual HTC Vive. I don’t have a Pimax here to test, but I can’t really imagine any technical reason for it working on Vive, yet not on Pimax with the same settings.
On a side note: If you actually want to play Skyrim and not just try the SE, the original DX9 Skyrim is the preferred version for vorpX. Due to added fullscreen effects (volumetric lighting etc.) The SE’s performance is much more dependent on resolution. Especially with higher resolutions the original Skyrim performs quite a bit better with vorpX on the vast majority of PCs.

Yes I know I used it for playing with the HTC Vive.
With the Pimax it is not possible to switch from 2D to the 3D mode. (Vorpx ingame menue)

Fallout 4 is working with
htcvive 1280 x 720 with 20 FPS (geometric 3D)
Fallout 4 is working with
Pimax @ 1920 x 1080 (geometric 3D) with 36 FPS ???!!!! and looks wonderful (headtracker has a big drift, the picture smears with moving of the head – but it looks overall much better than vive for me)
Skyrim se is working with htc vive
but is working with Pimax only 2D why ? I have no idea
Alien isolation is working with Pimax in geometric 3D also !

Hello, i cant get vorpx run with mod organizer. SKSE alone with vorpx is running.
But i am not able to hook vorpx whaen launching mor organizer. I have created a new profile in MO no mods installed but no success ..
(Nexus mod manger works fine)
THX for help
You need the config app to import profiles into the database, there is no way to do that manually.
I don’t really have anything else than general suggestions in regard to your issue with the config app, sorry. Double and triple check for issues with your DotNet config, virus scanner or other security software. Also try reinstalling vorpX if you didn’t do that already and try the Microsoft Dot Net Repair Tool.
If this is mainly about being able to play Skyrim I can safely recommend to use the original Skyrim version if you can’t import the profile. It actually runs a bit better than Skyrim SE with vorpX on most systems and the profile is already available in the database per default.
Is it possible to use a Profiles.vpd file from one computer to another? Since I can’t seem to get Vorpconfig to run and no one at Vorpx is willing to assist me maybe I can just copy someone elses profiles database with the SkyrimSE profile already installed.
I’ve tried everything I can find info on here to get Vorpconfig to run and I’m having no luck. It seems to run VorpX itself fine and I can make changes from within game but there is currently no G3D support for SkyrimSE without a Prelim profile. Or maybe someone has other ideas for manually inserting the profile into the database? I’m getting 0 help from anyone at vorpx on these forums or via email.
Upon some play testing I really find no benefit with ASW.
I have read a lot of people saying it is a major game changer, but I found it actually makes the experience worse.
I have only tried in Skyrim.
In interiors I usually get 80-90 FPS and I really see no difference with ASW and actually feels a little worse (more jittery) for some reason.
In exteriors I typically get from 35 – 75 FPS because of the great variation.
With ASW off I usually sit around 50 fps with game at solid 90fps and feels okay
With ASW on I usually sit at 42-45 fps with the game at 45fps (or60fps game 90fps)
In general it all feels more comfortable with ASW off (CRTL 1 on numpad)
With Skyrim the most significant problem seems to be micro-stutter that makes the occasional frame skip and miss head rotation that feels uncomfortable. I find this still equally bad in Z-3D with FPS 89-90 fps so there is probably no real way to improve it. I just try not to rotate my head too much. Translation always feels smooth.
Side note: I noticed that the bifocal image gets really blurry and de-focused with head roll in CV1. I remember this was not the case in DK2. Could be due to the Fresnel lenses, but I noticed it is not the case in CV1 native apps. Anyone else notice this artifact?
Hey there,
after working on this problem for over three hours I finally gave up. How the hell can you map keys in Skyrim? I’ve got an XBOX One Wireless Controller, latest drivers installed and it is behaving strange in Skyrim.
For instance: the attack is mapped to three buttons, jumping to two buttons. So I open the Vorpx menue and try to rebind the keys in the gamepad settings, but it is not working!
I click on “A” for example and the assigned letter disappears, looks good, right? Vorpx is waiting for a key now, so I press something… anything. However, no matter what I press Vorpx is not taking the key I press and instead remains inactive, this includes keyboard and gamepad keys. Only clicking with the mouse binds that mouse click to the assigned field.
I tried disabling the Xbox Gamepad in Skyrim itself, tried all the options with Vorpx. Nothing solves this problem. Most of the time the whole program just “crashes” (I can’t even close the ingame menue anymore) and I can only close it with the task manager.
Please! Offer me some help because I really want to play this with my Gamepad.
Thanks in advance.
vorpX shows a tray icon in the taskbar (left to the clock). If it’s not visible, click the small arrow in the tray icon area to open the small window with hidden tray icons. You can exit vorpX from its tray icon’s right click menu.
For 3D in Skyrim SE you need this profile. Make sure to follow the instructions!
In regard to Far Cry 4 please make sure to disable the ingame overlay in the Uplay options. Also go offline in Uplay, the game will crash otherwise after connecting to the Ubisoft server with vorpX.
found it , somehow the prelim file wasnt in the vorpx configurator.
G3D is worth it.
But i switched to mod organizer now skyrim se wont hook anymore. What to do??

Would be really awesome to adventure in Skyrim with Oculus touch. Will that be a separate module we need to purchase from you, Ralf (don’t mind at all, if I do), or part of Vorpx?
