Sometimes you simply have to try again. Usually two or three times should suffice though.

You can also create special vorpX shortcuts, that hook a game in another and more reliable way. Right-click the vorpX tray icon and select “Create Desktop Shortcut”, then select the .exe you want to start. This will create a shortcut on the desktop, as the menu entry title suggests. ;)

While using these shortcuts it might make sense to pause the ‘watcher’, also via the right click menu of the tray icon.

Unfortunately these shortcuts do not work well with many Steam games, but it’s always worth a try.

I don’t think you should get any version of the VorpX software because you are acting like a self-serving asshole just because you can’t play your favorite video games on your developers kit yet.

Has it occurred to you that something might be wrong with Ralph? Maybe he is very sick, perhaps he got in some trouble, or maybe, just maybe he just wants to hold out on everything because you are acting like such a prick.

Take a minute to calm down and read over your posts, twice. If you heard somebody talking like that to you, would you want to give them anything at all?
You can’t apologize one day, and be an asshole again the next and expect anybody to take you seriously.

Suck it up princess because the wait could be long indeed, and there is no point in blowing your gasket and filling yourself with negativity for a product that may indeed never see the light of day…

What exactly do you think hurling insults is doing for you other than helping you release some steam? There are much more pragmatic methods to vent that don’t injure your reputation, and you are certainly not going to be receiving any help from anybody here with that arrogant attitude.

I truly hope you aren’t taking out your frustrations on people irl as well… :/

The torrent might be a little harsh, but otherwise I have to completely agree with MrGeddings. The fact that Ralf is not releasing any updates, nor there is any communication whatsoever is distasteful. Why would it be so hard to release a daily update of a few words like ‘Today is was optimizing the code for Flight Simulator X’, etc. Hell, we don’t even no if the project is still a go, or not… As someone pointed out Ralf could be even dead by now, it wouldn’t make a difference.
And even though I don’t have my Rift yet, this complete lack of communication is really pissing me off.
I also don’t see the point why VorpX is not relased yet. As we could all see, it already works with many games, and besides, no one ever heard of software update??? Vorpx will need to updated nevertheless when the consumer verison comes out, to support 6 DOF tracking. Or at least I guess so. So, if software update will be necessary than what harm would be done by releasing it now, even strictly as a work-in-progress version? Look at Arma 3! The guys released the Alpha version on Steam, and thousands of people bought it already. The game is in Beta stage now, and all Alpha users updated to Beta, as they will be updated for the final version as well, when time comes. Meanwhile they are releasing DAILY updates in a few sentences, so people now what’s going on. And yeah, they already have a ton of money from it, and the gamers are happy, despite the fact that they have paid for and using a yet unfinished product.
The situation with VorpX is really disappointing, and I don’t know if we can count on it, or it will never be developed. I don’t know, because the only thing I get is complete silence.

One concern I have with this software is the Steam VAC and Punkbuster protection mechanisms built into online games.  With using this driver are we confined to local, single player games (oh I sure hope to god not)?  Has this been tested in multiplayer games?  Are the anti-cheat systems aware of VorpX and have the details been worked out so that players are not blacklisted for using this driver online?

If this driver will work online without the worry of blacklist detection then we are good to go, but I would really stress that the VAC and Punkbuster systems need to know about this prior to going live with it.

Major buzzkill to get this driver only to find out your account has been blacklisted due to the driver being used online.

Anyone have thoughts on this or feedback?

hey can u let us know when ur rift is shipped and when u get it to give those of us who ordered one some kind of heads up on when ours might be shipped since u where a day one backer. the lack of info from oculus on the shipping schedule is driving my crazy.. O steam having a sale on farcry 3 going to pick it up but will wait to play it till I know whether I can play it in vr I know it going to bring back that WOW feeling back in games again
