    @mr_spongeworthy

by SuperDepth3D you mean Reshade? I also like to use that program. Recently played Resident Evil 7 and Blair Witch with it and it ran perfectly. My brother is currently playing Metro Exodus with it and is also very satisfied.

But Tridef3D is also a very good alternative. Hellblade was a dream with it, or Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Alien Isolation and Outlast.

What games would you recommend for VorpX?
Fallout3 is already a bit too old. I loved the game back then :)

I’m afraid I didn’t understand how you do that with the zipped backups. I have never heard of such a thing. I would like to test but I have to understand that first. How can I create this .zip?

I have a BenQ W2700. I’ve been using 3D since I saw Avatar in theaters in 2009. To this day I still love this technology :)

My first projector was a Benq w1070+
It could only do 1080p but I played Hellblade with it back then. With DSR you could select a 4K resolution and it ran perfectly with Tridef. You just need the right profile for it.

@Lewy1984 Good luck with this! I too still often play on a 3D monitor as it’s simply so much more relaxing than having to wear and HMD for games that you are really just wanting stereoscopy.

I have very good luck now with vorpX (wish there were more absolutely perfect G3D profiles, *hint* *hint*) and SuperDepth3D is probably your best bet for titles that don’t work with vorpX or for a few other valid reasons (for example if a title is so bad you simply *have* to run other ReShade shaders; that will generally be incompatible with vorpX).

For example, Detroit Become Human looks and runs fantastic on my 3D display using SuperDepth3D, but other titles look and run better using vorpX; especially any title with a working G3D profile (Fallout 3, FNV). It’s an unfortunate matter of trial-and-error, but in the end you can still get reasonably good results.

Tip: If you routinely switch between different techniques or devices you can make zipped backups of your critical settings files and then label the archives properly. I move between my 3D display and HMD for Greedfall, for example, so I have “GreedFallPrefs3D.zip” and “GreedFallPrefsHMD.zip” – that way I can just extract the correct prefs and move them into place rather than wasting time manually configuring settings whenever I change my display device.

What 4K 3D projector do you have? Does it support any 4K 3D modes? I’ve been stereoscopic gaming about 12 years also and had a 720p DLP (I used it in frame-packing-mode; so it looked very sharp even at 720p). I have 3 sets of Optima shutter glasses currently, but no 3D projector at this time. I’ve been holding-out for a new standard that supports actual 4K 3D; but most projectors seem to switch to 1080P for any form of 3D output? Even though frame-packing is a thing of the past except for Blu Rays, it would be nice to find a projector that could do, for example, SBS and Top/Bottom 3D modes at 4K rather than 1080p.

Thanks for your answer. I read something about it and many are positively surprised by the result, so I wanted to test it too. I installed the game Titanfall 2 and wanted to play it in 3D. Unfortunately, VorpX is the only alternative I found and I now have a problem.

    I have 3 displays: 3D monitor, 3D 4K projector, 4K TV.

When I start the game, the screens are misaligned. I want to play the game via projector. So I deactivated display 1+2. But when I start the game, display 1 is suddenly active and the main screen and display 3 (projector) is the extended screen. Is there a solution for this?

    First person settings for mod
    https://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsjedifallenorder/mods/537

also recommend the following for better visuals in vr – https://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsjedifallenorder/mods/9?tab=description
    Use Either
CustomEngine: Disables Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Bloom, also sets MaxAnisotropy to 16x.
    or
CustomEngineNoAA: All the above + Disabled AA – can be useful for Reshade mods with custom Anti-Aliasing settings.

open the official profile for Jedi Fallen Order and change the following (I am unable up upload custom settings for some reason)

    change the following

    Headtracking Sensitivity : .83

    Image Settings

Shadows and other effects in modern games are often implemented with deferred rendering techniques that aren’t easily stereoizable. Past 3D drivers like Tridef often had the same glitches (or worse) in such cases. Fallout 4 however should be largely fine though except for some *very* minor issues with character shadows occasionally.

In general make sure to keep the 3D-Strength at realistic levels (in official profiles that means 1.0). With realistic 3D these glitches usually aren’t too bad, only with exaggerated ‘doll-house’ 3D they become too annoying to be bearable.

After the latest Fallout 76 update I started getting random crashes while playing with VorpX.
It’s stable when played vanilla, but crashes within 2-3 minutes using VorpX.

Any other reports? Or any hints wheat I should look at?

I’m using the default VorpX profile.
No difference between Geometry or Normals, or with head tracking enabled or not.

I can truly say this game is a must for vorpx. If you like the old Tomb Raider you will love this one. G3D is awesome, Full VR together with an ultra smooth camera that you can move all around your character makes this game highly enjoyable.
I remember playing it with the old ELSA glasses on WIN98, climbing up the blood falls or burning (Screenshot) looks even more insane in VR.

Playing the Remaster again after it first came out 23 year ago is JUUUdge Fun, promised !

I’ve not tried Skyrim LE with Vorpx, do u recommend it? I own Skyrim VR so haven’t tried Skyrim games with Vorpx.

I’m glad to see that you can now see images in the distance very clearly in Fallout 4! This is one of my flaws with the HTC Vive Pro, especially because of the SDE.

And to answer to your question, no, you don’t need to play Skyrim with VorpX, if you already have Skyrim VR, unless you want to use some mods that are not available on the Skyrim 64 bits versions, which is my case. And besides, I play Skyrim with VorpX in the sitting position, with keyboard and mouse, because all I want is just to see a true 3D image.

However, if you have access on your Steam account to the original Skyrim LE, you can try, just to see how it is. There are some differences with several animations (like fighting, riding a horse, working at the forge or mining), but the “core image” is the same, maybe with a better scale in Skyrim VR, especially on outdoors environments.

I must say that, even with my old HTC Vive Pro, the image quality of Skyrim LE, with the lasted VorpX versions, is just stunning! That’s why I decided not wait any longer and I already order a Pimax 8KX!

I know that I will need to use the parallel projections with VorpX, to play Skyrim LE, so I’m guessing that, even with my current RTX 3090, I will return to the old days when I fell that my previous graphics card, an GTX 1080Ti, was not enough to show the full image quality potential from the HTC Vive Pro, which I fell that I only achieved after I got the current RTX 3090.

And so is life! We are always crying for a more powerful graphics card…

    That’s good news!

By “ok” do you mean everything works fine, as expected? Or have you noticed any minor problems when using it with vorpX?

I’m jealous :) … I want to try one of these. I think the unique FOV shape would be ideal for most vorpX fullVR games.

Yeh everything works as expected. No problems. Lol at being jealous :) no doubt in the not too distant future the Aeros display will be equalled or even bettered in new upcoming hmd’s which won’t be $2k so most people will get to experience it.

Thank you for the update! Can you give any examples of games that you’ve played in Vorpx with the Aero that look way better than the Reverb G2? Are you able to use the foveated rendering with Vorpx? Do you notice you get higher frame rates? Any general positive reactions to the Aero that you can share so we can vicariously enjoy this experience with you?

The games i’ve been playing recently with Vorpx are the Fallout series, Alien Colonial Marines, the Metro series, Dying Light 2, the Stalker series of games. I wouldn’t say they look “way” better than a G2, the Aero is 4x the price of a G2 but its not 4x times better. But it is a definite and noticeable improvement in display quality.

My fave games in the Aero are the Fallout games, everything maxxed out like draw distance and Vorpx quality on Phenomenal, it looks great. You can see details, like npc’s, in the distance. You can make out details in things and u don’t need to be close up to do this.
