Next Friday or Saturday. I had it scheduled for this week originally, but there are still a few things left that need to done, so I have to postpone it one week.
I assume there will be a post here in the forums as soon as the update goes live? Looking forward to checking out all your hard work on DirectVR implementation!
I had Fallout 4 working with DirectVR yesterday, then today I sat down and the scans keep failing. I would do all the settings myself, but I can’t adjust the FOV on the PIPboy manually unless the FOV scan in DirectVR succeeds. I’ve reloaded several different saves and the FOV scan just fails immediately every time. I can’t play because I can’t get into the PIPboy. It is so zoomed in that it’s just a green blur. I tried downloading the latest profile, and it doesn’t work. I tried editing the .ini file, and it doesn’t work. I really don’t want to uninstall and lose my progress. It’s maddening to have to play 2 hours over again, just to get to the point I was at. Why won’t this work?

Thanks for the response, Ralf! I suspected as much, just wanted to scratch the itch :) I have another noob itching question: is it possible to create automatic adjustment for Z3D, similar to DirectVR for G3D? After all, Z3D does have some advantages, especially when G3D is problematic for various reasons. Even if the outcome is not ideal, I think it could be worth it.
Only Ralf Almighty can create DirectVR profiles, sorry. That’s not something that can be done with a single click. It usually involves hours of work and tuning literally dozens of arcane parameters that have to be learned and understood first. Often it’s not even easily done for games based on the same graphics engine. And in the end you may very well end up with nothing since there is no guarantee it will work with a specific game at all.
As much as I would like to see more work done by users, the chance of someone (including you :) ) willing to learn all that is required and then actually do it on a regular basis afterwards is just too small to justify the amount of work that would be necessary to program more accessible tools than those that are available for that now. Maybe one day if there is nothing else to do.

Do you guys know of any cloud profiles with DirectVR support for the games that do not have an official DirectVR support so far? Or only the Ralf Almighty (yes, I do worship him sometimes) can create them?
Doesn’t Bioshock Infinite crash in every cutscene now?
I just started playing Infinite with Vorpx DirectVR, and the game seemed to stall when I got to the bit where you’re supposed to throw the baseball. I had to disable vorpx and play through that bit normally, and then started up with Vorpx at the next autosave point.
My only issue now is that the game is constantly crashing during gameplay. I’m currently in the gun fight just after the baseball throwing bit, and the game is crashing at different points during the battle… Not sure if it’s Vorpx causing the crashes, planning to try playing through this bit without vorpx today to see if it still crashes…
Anyone else having issues with random crashes during hectic fights while using vorpx?
And I actually like aiming with my face, I’ve been making headshots like a pro, so hopefully this will make the battles go faster and I can concentrate on enjoying the story and environment ;)
Using camera changing mods may make DirectVR fail at any time, since they may store their rotation/fov/position values in a way that DirectVR cannot find. If you know that a specific camera mod causes an issue (even if just occasionally), please remove that mod.
Having two things (DirectVR and a mod) modifying the camera at the same time may work in some cases, but it may just as well fail. Removing the conflicting mod is the right course of action in such a case.
I just wanted to post a THANK YOU! Whatevr this DirectVR voodoo is doing, I like it! Skyrim is nearly perfect in VR now. I spent a long time yesterday just wandering around aimlessly, getting ambushed and having unexpected encounters, and marvelling that I finally feel like I’m present in the game world!
The only thing missing is decoupled weapon movement which I assume isn’t possible. I just hope Bethesda is paying attention and gives us proper locomotion in their version of VR games, because this along with free weapon handling (like in the Doom 3 VR mod) would make this just unbelievable!
Oh, and I need a faster video card… where are those 1080Ti cards anyway?!?!?!
I´m always playing correctly in DirectVR, including FoV succesfully completing.
but I have to recognize that sometimes it is harder to get the DirectVR passing all the tests…
Yesterday it was failing many times, so I entered a dungeon and run it there and it worked at first try; go figure.
Skyrim SE???
Not sure if you set it already but if not try it with 1920×1440 resolution set manually in Skyrim.prefs and set the Fov 110 110 in game using the console.
This was the main reason to buy it and works really good.
I have adjusted the size of everything a little 😛
Also, do you see any performance loss while playing more than…let´s say an hour?
I’m also impressed with the head tracking with the new DirectVR implementation. My only problem is that the FOV scan always fails, and when I try to set a FOV of 110 in the console the view initially changes, but when I close the console the FOV goes back to what it was before…
So far it’s a huge improvement though, this, FAllout 4 and Bioshock Infinite are a joy to play in VR now. Just not sure why I can’t get the original Bioshock Remastered edition working…
Please Developer.
Can you detail in the supported list of games, which method is currently working for gameplay on each game?
Also if Headtracking is working or not.
For Example:
Skyrim SE: DirectVR. Geometry 3D. Headtracking.
Mirror´s Edge: Geometry 3D. Headtracking
As today, is getting difficult to understand how the game is actually supported.
Thank you
Hello I have a problem with fallout4 in DirectVR mode.
DirectVR works perfectly on skyrim with mod
and NewVegas with mod but when I try on fallout4
without any mod and vanillia ini file I encounter the following problem
The screen freeze when launching the Rotation scan
And the PC no longer responds for 5 to 10 minutes
if I do a CtrlAltSupp I see that several
windows process uses 100% disk and the scan is unresponsive
system (ntoskrnl.exe)
com surrgate (dllhost.exe)
processus hôte de service (svchost.exe)
antimalware service executable (MsMpEng.exe)
runtime broker (RuntimeBroker.exe)
I have blocked several windows processes
and this disk usage problem only occurs in
Fallout4 during the scan, I no longer experience this problem at startup
because it is a common problem on windows 10
I updated the profile by downloading from the cloud
Here is the list of exceptions I added to windows defender
So it does not scan:
Files and folder :
Animation Labs\VorpX (folder)
Animation Labs\vorpxConfig.exe
Animation Labs\vorpxControl.exe
Animation Labs\vorpxControl64.dat
Animation Labs\vorpxDesktop.exe
steamapps\common\Fallout 4 (folder)
ProgramFiles (x86)\Windows Defender (folder)
Program Files\Windows Defender (folder)
Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe
ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX (folder)
Process:
vorpxControl
vorpxControl.exe
vorpxControl64
vorpxControl64.dat
vorpx
vorpX VR Driver Control
vorpX VR Driver Control (32 bits)
vorpXscan64
vorpXscan64.exe
I also tried without windows defender by installing
Avast but nothing change.
with the many test I did with different savegame
and in different cell the worst is that it succeeded only once
the scan rotation and fov was ok and i was able to enjoy the game in DirectVR
but since then it’s always the same problem that forces me
sometimes to force reboot if the CtrlAltSupp does not work.
I don’t know what to try next
then if you have an idea I thank you in advance.
Sorry english is not my first language.
I use FallOut4 In French could it be the problem ?
I notice during the problem that the notification icon
for the volume was on mute and came back normal when i quit fallout.
If you encounter problems with the DirectVR FOV scan failing in Fallout 4, please update your Fallout 4 profile by downloading the latest “Fallout 4 [vorpX]” profile from the cloud in the vorpX config app.
Yesterday’s Fallout 4 update broke the FOV portion of the Direct VR scan, the updated profile addresses that.
Okay, I can get the game to run if I use Bioshock2 remastered, but not the original Bioshock2.
Also, Bioshock2 remastered doesn’t support VorpX DirectVR. If it does, then it just doesn’t support the auto-tracking (Alt L) feature?
Thanks Ralf – I’d started the scan first by the Alt-L shortcut, then by the option on the VorpX main page, so didn’t see the FOV slider hint in advance. I think I was so put off by the distorted view that I never even saw an after-scan hint.
Curiously, either pulling the FOV slider to the left or running the scan from the DirectVR page of the menu (or just chance) also got positional tracking scan to work. Not that I was bothered about that (I just thought it may be diagnostic), but it’s good to know everything’s working as intended.
And it’s way better through Direct VR, as that fixes the annoying need to adjust the view after player animations (like opening doors).
Thanks :)
