    Hello,

Just in case: Did you follow the DK2 Setup Guide in the vorpX help? It explains how to set things up.

In GTA V you can alternatively select the Rift directly, which might be the easier way if you are new to vorpX. GTA V allows to select the output monitor in the game options.

You should still read some of the guides in the documentation, they explain quite a few things that make your life easier.

While I’m at it: here is a settings guide for GTA V, that might be of interest once you got it basically up and running.

Of course, GTAV came out and I want to try it.

I start VorpX and it automatically installs a new version, and now it will not recognize my DK2.

I thought maybe it had a conflict with my IPD adjusters, which use version 4.4 of the oculus runtime, so I reinstalled the default oculus files, nothing, I reinstalled vorpx, nothing.

I installed the newest Oculus runtime, nothing

Have now retruned to 4.4 because i want to continue using the IPD adjusters.

It just constantly gives me the error on everything I have tried.

“the configured device was not found. Please make sure that you select the correct headset and that your headset is connected to your PC”

I have moved USB connections around to see if I could get it to recognize, I am unsure what else to try.

And I cannot try to test an old version of VorpX now.

Just got GTA V installed and vorpX hooked no problem. I haven’t messed with any FOV tricks yet but I just squashed it a some with the 2d FOV and zoomed out. It has a letter box effect like this but it gives you an idea of what it would be like after tuning it in with hacks/mods. Great job on getting a profile up so soon!

This game should work perfect after some tuning in and optimizing from Rockstar(increased FOV, turn off controller option, unlock camera during certain things). They also need to optimize it better for PC. I had everything on recommended and it stuttered around a lot. Then I maxed out everything and it actually ran better(better but not great).

As far as vorpx goes though it works great so far!

The strange thing is, watching VorpX GTA V Videos on youtube i can see there is kind of “3D” (depth) but I don’t have any 3D at all. It just stays “2D flat” while headtracking is working.

    – Downloaded/installed latest vorpx driver.
    – Vorpx (64bit) is running in the back (checked task manager).
    – Starting GTA V
    – Headtracking: working
    – …but game stays “2d flat” for me

…if i hit “DEL” for ingameconfig, i can change fov, etc., but there’s nothing i can find to get the “3D” i’v seen at some vorpx/GtaV Videos or Screenshots…. it just stays at “2d flat” like on a big movie theatre screen.

The game is Z-Buffer 3D only at the moment. Geomtry 3D *may* be added later.

Z3D gives “less 3D” in the foreground, but often better 3D in the distance (deginitely in GTA V). It’s also twice as fast.

Can you post the full error message (or even better a screenshot of it)?

It may be the case that only the 32bit version of vorpX is running, but not the 64bit version, which is required for GTA V.

You can check that in your task manager. There should be a vorpControl.exe and a vorpControl64.dat process. If the latter is missing, vorpX cannot hook GTA V.

If that is the case, please first try a full reinstall. If that does not help, try disabling your antivirus program and see whether that helps. There might be a conflict between your AV program and vorpX.

Unless the controller can be disabled there doesn’t seem to be a way in GTA V unfortunately.

I will look into your registry hack idea, but when doing such things I also have to consider that this messes up the registry for good if the game crashes for some reason or vorpX otherwise can’t reset such a change. So while maybe technically possible, there may be other reasons that prevent such a solution.

vorpX has a built in solution for 99% of games with such issues, it’s a bit unfortunate that GTA V is the one that doesn’t allow to disable the gamepad (for reasons beyond me, I have to admit :))

Unless a fix for this is found, using mouse and keyboard seems a quite playable alternative to me.

Right Stick: Normally such things are solvable by disabling the gamepad in a game’s option menu, which activates vorpX’s built in gamepad emulation. There doesn’t seem to be way to disable the gamepad in the GTA V options menu though. Unless I overlooked something, playing with mouse and keyboard might be the better option in this case.

Really need a fix for this. Game is almost unplayable with the right thumbstick screwed up like this.
Playing with a keyboard mouse is not a good solution since you can not see the keyboard keys with the head set on.

wonder if there is an config file to turn the joystick off. How does this work in GTA 4?

Hmm so I found this (for GTA 4) you can Change the OEM name of your controler.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\**YourController**]

Then GTA will not know its an Xbox 360 controller and you should be able to remap it.
Im not in front of my system right now so I cant try it.
anyone want to take a stab? (backup your registry)

Black Areas: This is a general issue with the DK2s OLED panel. Activating “Black Smear Fix” on the display page of the vorpX ingame menu is the usual fix for that. Doesn’t seem to work in GTA V though. Probably a glitch in vorpX, will look into it.

Full VR mode: The game defaults to Virtual Cinema Mode for various reasons. For the most immersive settings, please check this little guide.

For full VR you can disable Virtual Cinema Mode in the vorpX ingame menu. For this to work, you will at least need a wide FOV fix though (linked in the guide).

Personally I would recommend Virtual Cinema Mode with the tweaks from the guide. The game has quite a few cutscenes and some other characteristics that make this the more playable option.

    Hi Ralf,
like i said on the first post, i already did a fresh install without mods.
Tryed to start the game with the Launcher and with the GTAIV.exe and neither hooks to the VorpX. with or without excluding the launcher from the list.

Are there no special actions i have to do to launch it with VorpX?

Never mind, luckily i got it to work today, i just tried to launch the GTAiV.exe and it worked!
Gonna try to add the 1st person view now.

    Hi,
I tried to rename and launch both: GTAIV.exe and LaunchGTAIV.exe to UDK.exe like u said but i can’t start the game that way.

I still have not updated the game yet to 1.0.4.0 or 1.0.7.0, the launcher changes though, does that change anything for the VorpX?

I actually saw that LaunchGTAIV.exe was listed on the excluded programs list of VorpX, i tried to remove it and it still doesn’t work.

I have no troubles working vorpx with Steam:
    Borderlands 2
    Borderlands Pre-Sequel
    Chivalry
    DCS World
    F1 2012 (needs open track)
    F1 2014 (needs open track)
    Far Cry 4
    GTAIV
    Metro 2033
    Mirrors Edge
    Portal 2
    Outlast
    Skyrim
    Wolfenstein

    Alien Isolation (mod game file)
Test Drive Unlimited 2 (have 3D but no head tracking)

I also have the Mass Effect trilogy and Alan Wake but I haven’t tried those games yet. Except for the games marked, all work with vorpx’s head tracking.

Games that work for me are:

    Borderlands Pre-Sequel
    Dirt 3
    F1 2012
    F1 2014
GTAIV – haven’t gotten head tracking yet
    Skyrim
Flight Sim X, though it opens on a different monitor and haven’t gotten head tracking, I do have 3D.

Though, except for Borderlands and Skyrim, I use Opentrack for head tracking.

Bought this about a week ago and haven’t had any joy at all with it. I’ve used vireio and that seemed to do what it said, but wanted to get other games working. I can’t seem to find any basic help anywhere. I’ve tried GTA4, but it just crashes out before it starts, Dear Esther starts but no head tracking. Oblivion starts but everything is HUGE and the head tracking is way too sensetive I feel sick within seconds.

If anyone could just show me how to change settings like these or how to configure control for games please do. I really want it to work, I just feel like I’ve wasted my money on this.
