Also prefer steam but I am a Vorpx supporter no matter where I have to go to get it. My Vive is up and running on all the eye candy demos. neat but kind of empty. My trusty DK2 hasn’t seen action in a few weeks. hard to go back to its much more noticeable screen door now.

Cant wait to try a real AAA game like Fallout 4 in VIVe w geometry mode and back to finishing Skyrim in all its mod glory for 2nd time w Vorpx.

Just for perspective, regarding Sickness and Skyrim. I have logged over 100 hours on Skyrim in Vorpx on my DK2 with no motion sickness. Yes it really depends on the individual but I also think it is something you can acclimate to.

Now GTA is another story. That one can catch me at random times even though I do not think the frame rate is that much different. Probably the fast motion vs plodding in Skyrim. Oh and Vanishing of Ethan Carter also doesn’t go too well even with my iron stomach.

Anyway I am looking forward as well to enjoying Skyrim with both the CV1 for its supposed improved visuals as well as trying out the Viv. It would be neat if someone created a teleport mod for Skyrim so you could walk around. As it is you can stand up and DK2 tracks you somewhat. Your head can move anywhere your wire can reach while walking. It just that your body doesn’t follow..lol Now someone should be able to fix that? right?

ok sorry cant edit last post but realized I wasn’t on latest Nvidia drivers. So I have updated to 364.72 and I get same result. Also tried stereo enabled as well as stereo disabled in the Nvidia control panel. no luck on getting Vorpx to launch without the “Please waiting” hang. It could be worse, since I can launch games over top of that but somethings not right when it crashes/hangs afterwards.

ok got a few games to run, eg skyrim, batman, fallout 4, however I never get rid of that “Please waiting” screen which launches as soon as I start vorpx. I launch the games over top of that screen and they seem to work however upon exiting the game the dk2 screen goes black and hangs. I have to exit vorpx and then the oculus store/library comes back on the dk2. Something is not happy there!

Also still no luck with vorpx desktop.

I have reinstalled, rebooted, reinstalled again. Still no luck. I am hesitant to do a full uninstall first since I am afraid that might erase my license key. Anyway it works this way; sort of. The “please wait” and hangup still seems to be there but If I ignore them the few games I have tried, do work. (GTA still doesn’t work but that may be the GTA VR mod not ready for 1.3 sdk)

    (Windows 10, DK2, SDK 1.3, NVidia 364.51 driver, gtx980ti )

Ok same problem as a few above…installed 16.1.1…rebooted…cant get past white screen after health safety warning where it says “Please Wait”

    I am using dk2 980ti…config vorpx comes up fine , registers as dk2…vorpx desktop also doesn’t start..same hangup…

Randomly I have gotten Skyrim to launch and run fine. However others like Vorpx desktop and GTA still hang on that screen. Is there a special sequence required? it seems the oculus store/library must load first since it auto loads when you turn on the dk2? after it appears I start vorpx and then get the health safety warning, then from Steam or desktop I launch a game and then I get “Please wait” for everything but Skyrim? Should steam vr to be on perhaps? I am clueless as to what I did differently with Skyrim to make it work.

Yes Spyah, I have a similar issue. I am running 0.8 and it seems Vorpx has a tough time hooking to GTA5 sometimes. Just a blank Oculus screen. I have been able to get it to work by alt tabbing out and turning on and off the Oculus config demo screen and then alt tabbing back or restarting GTA5. Sometimes that wont work either. Not sure if it is a general problem or specific to a few of us.

Thanks Ralf. Now if flawless widescreen gets their act together to work with the new GTA version I can let the steam update monster loose again. GTA5 with VORPX gets my vote for one of the best DK2 VR immersions available right now!

I sure hope Ralf can get this working again if it is in fact broken with the latest GTA update. As far as I am concerned it is a better example of the possibilities of VR than most of the new VR games being announced at E3. Third person VR really doesn’t do much for me. So unless they create some immersive worlds like GTA I am happy to play with my DK2 and GTA5 until then. Thanks Ralph for making VR possible with these games. Too bad they seem to get messed up with updates. Right now mine is working great with the previous version and my new GTX980TI makes it smooth as silk. Is there any chance this will ever run in geometry mode? The Geometry mode in Skyrim is fantastic. Can only imagine GTA5 w geometry 3d.

Well I had a copy of the folder from before I installed the cops modification and hud for occulus mods. Without a previous folder I don’t know how you can do it.

That’s a great help…now I know where to expect it to work.

Anyway regarding GTA5 I have had a breakthrough by going back to a previous version. 3d-z works fine now. The problem is I don’t see any option to prevent it from updating for this game and GTA5 wont let you play offline (due the stupid social club). So I am expecting it to break when it updates again. I do have a copy to revert to. Am I the only one having problems in GTA5 with the latest update? If so I have to look further for a cause. I do have a few mods which may be affecting things..

Thanks grumdark for the suggestion on MSAA however it still wont kick in to stereo 3d. I am not sure the 3d-z is working in other games either for me. Is farCry 4 a zbuffer game? If it is I also get no 3d. Also no luck with Metro 2033 redux. Geometry works fine where that is applicable. As you can see, I bought a lot of games on Steam’s summer sale to try with Vorpx :). So far Mirrors edge works well in geometry as well as Borderlands. I guess I could switch those to z-3d and see what happens. ill report back once I try them.

Still no joy! No z-normal or z-adaptive stereo. I have tried alt tabbing, Vorpx reinstall, Nvidia Driver reinstall (version 353.06). Something has changed for me between the new GTX480ti and the update to GTA5. Anyway if you find any feedback from others having trouble with these changes I’ll be eagerly watching. I may try to swap back to my 780ti and see if that makes a difference.

Alt tabbing does restore the regular NVidia stereo when it stops but not Vorpx and Occulus.

OK since latest June 10th update I cant get any 3d out of Vorpx in GTA5. It works otherwise in 2d but no 3d either in cinema mode or straight vr. I know one difference is that flawless wide screen wont work anymore for this new update until it is revised but I am not using that at the moment just the recommended zoom settings in your post. Bummer since I was enjoying Vorpx and GTA5 so much I splurged and got a new GTX980ti to up the framerate. I don’t think that hardware change is the problem since it works fine with Skyrim and Vorpx.
