I just had a much more problematic false positive detection by Windows Defender. It rated the threat as “Severe” and took the step of quarantining vorpConfig.exe.

Since making this thread, I was able to import a couple of environments. Apparently that was about a year ago. I don’t think I’ve ever actually used them though, haha! I really love The Lounge.

Whenever the issue of “My Documents” comes up, I always check to see what the expected location for that folder is. I have OneDrive cloud sync enabled in Windows 10, so it uses “[UserFolder]/OneDrive/Documents” rather than the usual “[UserFolder]/Documents”

With vorpX this wasn’t a problem, since it probably correctly uses Windows environment variables to determine where My Documents is. But even some big name software (Final Fantasy XV) don’t do this properly.

I haven’t checked this thread in a couple of weeks, but yikes! It took a lot of posts before lipplog finally got the game working.

This is why I didn’t want to even attempt to explain how to get the game running with Full VR in this thread, because though it’s a simple process, it requires dealing with things that most vorpX users probably aren’t used to working with. Apparently even Image Zoom was one of them.

Anyone who dares to venture beyond the safety of the Official vorpX Game Profiles needs to have a comprehensive understanding of how vorpX interacts with games, the many settings vorpX has, and some general tips and tricks for improving the experience.

For this, I recommend budwheizzah’s video, VorpX Universal Guide 2018 Edition – HTC VIVE, Oculus Rift & SteamVR.

This is a looong ass video, but it would take even longer to figure this stuff out on your own, so set a side an hour and watch it. It’s worth it.

WRoEF can be played in Full VR, though it takes some extra work because the game’s developers didn’t make a proper PC version.

It’s a bit of a process to make it happen, but my friend, Stereo3DProductions, and I have found a way to make it work. He played in Immersive Screen / Cinema mode in the linked video, but plans on making another video showing how to get it working in Full VR.

The process is a bit technical, so I don’t want to try to explain it step-by-step here in text. It involves using CheatEngine to modify the game engine’s FOV value directly (similar to what vorpX’s DirectVR does), since the game devs didn’t expose any user-configurable way to change the FOV. This Widescreen Gaming Forums thread was helpful.

In the meantime, here is some footage of me playing the game in Full VR with vorpX during one of my World Famous solo livestreams. 😉

PS: is it possible to take a screenshot of what I see in the headset ?

Hit the DEL key to bring up the vorpX in-game menu, then navigate to the Display Settings tab. Set “Direct Mode Mirror Window” to “Full Size” and the mirror window will appear on your desktop. Take a screenshot of the mirror window.
