fubarParticipantProbably cause you have a very low end GPU. In G3D everything needs to be rendered twice and there are probably some additional inefficiencies so even an old game at low resolution is probably too much. I might be wrong though and there could be some additional problem.
fubarParticipantThanks, it calculated 98 and I applied it with the hex editor and it’s perfect now. Do you guys know if it’s possible to get rid of the dirty screen effect? I tried with shader authoring tool and went through every shader but it’s not affected by this.
fubarParticipantI have other problem with this game. I’m using the GOG dx11 version and Vorpx can’t change the resolution and the fov, or maybe they get overwritten by the game. I’m using the official profile and all the settings in vorpx menu are correct.
If it’s not possible to fix please tell me what aspect ratio and FOV I need for Rift S and what other tweaks are needed and I’ll set it all manually in the user.cfg
fubarParticipantThat would be cool. Dishonored 1 with vorpx is one of the best vr experiences I’ve had. Still haven’t played the second game cause I don’t want to play it in 2D or Z3D.
fubarParticipantBut like I said I see distortions in this game and I don’t see them in some other vorpx games I tried. So you’re saying it’s as good as it gets and there’s just something wrong with this game where it’s not possible to get rid of distortions?
fubarParticipantI don’t think 120 is too much in this game, game settings let you go up to 110 and it wasn’t enough, going down from 110 only made things worse, more distorted and more zoomed in.
I’d prefer not to have to mess with it manually in the registry as it requires a game restart every time and it takes a while so It’d be extremely tedious but if there’s no other choice I’ll try going higher and see if it improves things.
fubarParticipantI have a similar problem with the FOV not being right. There’s a good amount of distortion as I move my head around. Nothing super crazy but way more than in other vorpx games I tried.
I can confirm vorpx is setting the 4:3 resolution and it is changing the registry variable ‘FOVCorrection’. Seems like maybe it’s setting it wrong. It sets it to 29892 in decimal which means it adds around 30 degrees to the 90 baseline.
Or is it just the best it can get and it’s impossible to get no distortions in this game?
fubarParticipantI played the first remastered recently and easily got 5000×4000 at 90FPS G3D on a 5090, could probably go higher so performance is pretty good, should be able to get it to run ok even on a 5070ti. Something must be wrong on your end.
fubarParticipantNow there’s a first person mod and you can play the whole game like this. Would be cool to play with vorpx in G3D.
fubarParticipantSame. Dishonored with vorpX was one of the best VR experiences I’ve had and it’s a shame we can’t play the second part properly.

fubarParticipantYes, that’s what I was afraid of, thanks for confirming.
fubarParticipantNew method to apply automated game settings. Fixes many DirectVR profiles that include automatic game settings optimization being broken with nVidia drivers newer than February 2023.
Comes with all profile updates since the last regular vorpX update compiled in the installer for convenience.Does the latest beta have those fixes too?
fubarParticipantI know you say it’s not an FPS problem but I think it is. 2080ti is a pretty damn weak GPU for vorpx. IIRC alt+F enables the fps counter so check that. Can’t think of anything else.
fubarParticipantIs there a way to play the game in G3D and synced eye rendering at the same time?
fubarParticipantI think it can only work if you enable AER which sucks. Of course Z3D sucks too, so best thing to do is just not play DX12 games for now.
