I searched “SKSE 4gb patch” and got varying info on outdated files and trojans. Nothing on nexus. What patch are you referring to exactly?

I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Skyrim Script Extender (or SKSE). Even with every mod and patch disabled, booting Skyrim through SKSE results in a distorted image in the DK2. It would be a real shame to play Skyrim without Mod Organizer.

Okay, I fixed the zoomed in effect by hitting the F10 key once I was in the game, and the optimized settings are pretty good. But the head tracking is nauseatingly fast. So any further tips would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to optimize your games. Open VorpX configuration Utility, click on optimize games, select each game you own and optimize it. The Field of View should now be better. You can also mess with the VorpX settings in your game by checking the box “Enable Expert Settings” in the VorpX configuration Utility.

You’re breaking several rules of the rift. Read this list, apply each change, and reboot for good measure. After that, everything should work.

    1. Never clone your displays. Always leave your display settings in extended mode.

    2. Always keep your Rift as Primary Display (a few exceptions like Virtual Desktop).

    3. In VorpX settings, never use an Oculus Profile. Make sure No Oculus Profile is selected.

    4. Always have Aero disabled. If not from your control panel, at least check Disable Aero at Start in your VorpX settings.

    5. Go to Control Panel – Display Settings – Screen Resolutions. Select your regular monitor and click Advanced Settings. Confirm that the refresh rate is 75. If 75 isn’t available, change the resolution until 75 is available. When it is, select it and save that resolution as your monitor’s permanent setting. And make sure your Rift’s refresh rate is also 75, just in case.

    6. Not a rule, but if you can, upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 resolved a boat load of problems for me.

Switching to DX9 allowed the 3D Geometry option for me. What options are you getting in DX9?

Odd, so sure Raphael said on the Oculus rift forums it did geometry 3D, is DX9 mode enabled?

Ah ha! I was wondering about that! I’ll switch it to DX9 asap!

You’re right. There is an in-game setting fOr FOV, and moving it all the way right zooms out quite nicely (110). Surprisingly, geometry mode isn’t an option, so I’m using Z-adaptive and messing with the advanced settings to see what happens.

I thought TriDef discontinued Oculus Rift support. Or are you still using a DK1?

Does the latest VorpX driver still support the DK1?

If I remember correctly, you have to download and activate SteamVR first. Here’s a step by step setup guide for DK2 and the latest VR version of Half-Life 2. Most of it should apply to Black Mesa as well. It worked for me, except for head tracking, which kinda defeats the purpose.
