The first solution is what I tried, it didn’t work. There for I posted this tread. The second solution kills all the extra mod features so I don’t want to do that. Thanks anyway :)

Thanks Ralph!
MaichevskyParticipantThanks for all the info!! Going to try this out one off these days

Haven’t been tweaking VorpX profiles in a while, forgot about the scaling thing. How would you know if an existing official profile is made for Full VR or immersive screen (I don’t mean just 3th person games)? Maybe I am just overlooking this part, that wouldn’t surprise me :)
Mar 10, 2022 at 9:34pm in reply to: Witcher 3 got a brand new first person mod, this time for real #210137MaichevskyParticipantAlright my results are in:
– Shadow problems in G3d
– scaling is off
– when moving with left stick Xbox controller the head tracking invertsto bad! but ej, luckily we have a lot off other games to choose from :)
MaichevskyParticipantSure, at 180fps the issues become less obvious. But that’s purely theoretical for newer, more demanding games. Most people without super highend GPUs are lucky if they can run demanding games at 60 (i.e. 30 per eye with alternate frame 3d). At such a framerate there are a lot of highly uncomfortable situations.
There’s a reason why no aftermarket 3D injector (let alone any native 3d game) over the course of 25 years ever worked that way. The very first private vorpX builds 10 years ago, when the whole VR gaming community was maybe a few hundred enthusiasts large, used alternate frame rendering because it is so much easier to implement. Didn’t even make it into the first public release… Just mentioning that I plan to do that caused a backlash big enough to send me back to the drawing board.
Besides: the starting point for vorpX back in the day was my wish to play Descent in VR, an ages old, fast paced shooter. In a game like that with constant fast motion alternate frame 3d is fairly sickening even at twice the display refresh rate. I have that on good authority. ;)
I am here (in VR) since the kickstarter off DK1, man was I happy VorpX existed in those first years :) I had no idea there was a VR community before that, I would have joined sooner!

Not seeing artifacts so far (haven’t played much) except the shadow in Geralds hair, but we wont see that in first person :) But things like Fov, resolution and such are not automatically done in this profile. I always struggle to get those things right.

Mar 4, 2022 at 2:03pm in reply to: possible to use controller to motion controller remap for native VR games? #209997MaichevskyParticipantI understand, thanks Ralph!
MaichevskyParticipantThat is a brilliant idea!!
MaichevskyParticipantI was surprised you even reacted on a Saturday night. VorpX is kinda experimental by nature, I don’t expect everything to always work perfectly. I sure don’t expect every little thing to be fixed right away! Just came across it, so I thought to bring it up.
MaichevskyParticipantThe controller problem turned out to be something else, I am very sorry! The flickering also disappeared with that.
You can turn down the shadow quality in the Alien menu, but you can’t turn it off. Was playing the game very recently and everything was fine. Maybe I can tweak out the shadow in some other way.
MaichevskyParticipantI am talking about the X-axis, not the Y-axis.
So you can’t turn, which isn’t very handy :)Also I have weird flickering now in Portal 2. Not the kind of flickering from not using a 4:3 resolution (which I am using), another kind off flickering.
And with Alien Marines the shadows don’t turn off anymore (using the option in the VorpX menu). Resulting in flickering shadows everywhere.
MaichevskyParticipantAfter the update, with Portal 2 the right xbox-controller stick X-axis doesn’t work anymore, after performing DirectVR scan
MaichevskyParticipantThat is great news! Thanks for the info Ralph!
