OgrescarParticipantWell, this happened again, not while I was downloading a profile but while I was adding an .exe to an existing profile. After I restarted the config app, my local profile database was gone. I lost all of my game settings and custom profiles, including the changes I’d made with the G3D shader tool, which is extremely annoying because I’m going to have to start from scratch on a G3D profile I’d been working on.
The crash was a System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException according to the event log but that’s too generic to be of any help. Basically, my Profiles.vpd file was truncated to 3 bytes.
Anyway, guess I’m going to set up a backup job on the ProgramData\Animation Labs\Vorpx folder in case it happens again.
OgrescarParticipantWell, I got around to trying the Outer Wilds profile and while the G3D doesn’t work, the z-normal and z-adaptive work very well and are fully adjustable.
When you say it didn’t work for you, does that mean no geometry reconstruction or no 3D at all?
OgrescarParticipantThe Unity 5 Base profile renders Vaporum Lockdown very well in all 3D modes, but G3D needs tweaking to fix some lighting and shadows. I’ve just been running it in Z-Normal because I’m too lazy to fix the G3D myself.
OgrescarParticipantIt doesn’t download the selected profile when it crashes. Restarting and downloading it again works.
It’s sporadic. I can download some profiles without issue and then the window will just close. I have to kill the process with an external utility (the executable doesn’t show up in task manager but it is actually still running, just no window).
Anyway, At this point I’m inclined to believe that the .net framework is acting wonky and has nothing to do with your code.
OgrescarParticipantMy temp files are in the default location on my c: drive, C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Temp. System temp files are in C:\Window\Temp.
I would be suspicious of an antivirus program causing it, and in fact removed avast antivirus from my machine a couple of days ago, but the problem still persists.
OgrescarParticipantI’m using Windows 10 with NET Framework 4.8.04084 so I doubt that’s the problem.
The error is logged in the Windows application log.

OgrescarParticipantI don’t know what’s up with the cutscenes, but reshade causes the same problem. Virtual Desktop does not, however. Probably something to do with the swapchain, but that’s just a guess. In any event, a different profile is not likely to solve the problem because vorpx will run it without a profile, but still chokes on the cutscenes.
OgrescarParticipantThere’s no G3D with the Metro Exodus profile but it appears to work with z-normal/adaptive on very low settings. I really haven’t had the time to play with it to see if it’s stable or not.
The subnautica profile simply does not work on my PC. All modes, including disabled, appear exactly the same. It looks exactly the same as if I were running it in virtual desktop. Maybe there’s an issue with anti-aliasing or difference between amd/nvidia gpu’s, but there should be a distinct difference between reconstruction disabled and any other mode that’s working.
OgrescarParticipantI tried the Subnautica Rift Profile and it definitely does not do anything other than hose the cutscenes, at least on my PC. The slider obviously doesn’t work because it’s not being rendered in 3D.
I tried a number of profiles with similar results. I turned anti-aliasing off but that made no difference. I had some luck with the Metro Exodus profile, but again, no cutscenes.
OgrescarParticipantTried it on Windows 10 but get an error that msvb50m.dll is missing. I could hunt down the dll somewhere but I haven’t ran any games yet where I really need this.
