    Hello, i would agree with a black border around immersive improving sight in many situations.
    I tried that too today,
    changin it makes a difference in edgepeek but not in immersive mode. Immersive remains ambience .

    Ok, for everyone who wants to use this, i tested a few games with it and its different each time, on some games it does not work at all, other games will not terminate properly.
    So i think this can be partly used to wrap DX8 to DX9 on WIN7. It seems to behave just like that you have to try different engine profiles to get the game to work. (Vorpx seems to always hook) I will upload some profiles to the cloud for the games below soon as i have finished any.

    Games tested with success (G3D) : Unreal 2, GTA 3, Madagascar.
    No success (no 3D yet) Advent Rising, Die Hard: Naktomi Plaza

    Hello there, i found a “workaround of the workaround” ;-) to play at least DX8 games on Win 7 with vorpX using this DX8 to DX9 Wrapper.

    – tested with Unreal 2, great 3D
    – i will do some more testing with other DX8 games, may be this can be a replacement for DGVoodoo for DX8 games under WIn 7.

    Ill report back when other games work too and put a profile to the cloud if that was susccessful.

    Note: In case you try yourself right now, there is no profile yet for this, so you will have no 3D. I will repot back as soon i have done some more testing and a profile is finished.

    Check out this nice quick late night 3D shot on Unreal 2 :-)

    LEGO City Undercover is an openworld game (and relatively newer), TT Games probably choosed a different game engine for it. – Was worth a try.. May be you could try an openworld game profile like Farcry 1/2/3 or may be RISEN 1/2/3, Gothic 3, Oblivion.

    Note: Some of the cloud profiles are not 3D even the “Geometry” setting is shown in the ingame settings. Thats why i mark my Geometry profiles always with (G3D) in order to avoid confusion.

    @vrbandwagon

    You could try the LEGO: Star Wars The Complete Saga from the cloud for LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER , it might work.

    You have to checkout this, extremely nice 3D !

    LEGO: Star Wars The Complete Saga (G3D)

    -Some cutscenes appear slightly too close, use mono for that or decrease 3D Strength, finetune Focal Offset
    -Download the profile from the cloud

    Yes, thanks i have tried all kinds of settings but no luck.

    My debugging capabilities are very limited, otherwise i would debug a bit deeper, but if i should do some guessing into the blue, i could imagine the following (be aware my knowledge of DX is relatively limited also and i might be talking crap): In dgvoodoo you choose beetween DX11 feature_level_10_0 and 10_1. So my guess is that the device has been already created. Where Win10 possibly can handle multiple instances, the same attempt will fail on Win7. – Only some late saturday evening guessing..

    Well, the dgvoodoo is not “so” important, just would have been cool to experiment with that (without installing another windows yet) because i have a couple of hundret DX7/8 games also in my crazy game collection.

    Because i might me the only one with that error it would be good if other users could verify this on WIN7.

    There is a DX11.1 update for win7 ( KB 2670838 ) mentioned here. As far i understand this could possibly handle the DX11 10_1 level feature on Win7.

    Though i havent tried it yet.

    I would appreciate any report if anyone has got dgvoodoo to work on win7 (with or without the KB 2670838 update.)

    Thanks for the 18.2. Update !

    Transformers: The Game (G3D)

    -Very nice 3D in all modes
    -The Cloud-profile is using Cinema Mode because the shaking of the robots makes motion-sick too easy in FULL VR Mode.
    -Zoom down and watch the people walking around and doing all kinds of funny things

    Hello Ralf, i am aware of that, i just thought i give some feedback on Unreal 2 because it was listed in the dgvoodoo profile. I will try the 2.54.

    It happens with any game i start, no matter if there is a profile or not. VorpX shows its logo on screen but not in HMD. VorpX log does not show any suspicious entries.

    I noticed that VorpX provides different openvr_api.dlls then before. I did some debugging, some files like api-ms-win-core-localization-l1-2-1.DLL is been searched but not found, even it is present in the \steam\bin\cef\cef.win7\ folder. Copying these files into the game folder for testing leads into another error “openvr seems not to be installed”.

    I beleive that there is a path incompatibilty somehere in the newer openvr_api.

    I could do a steamvr update for a test, but i rather wait for other user reports. Rolling steamVR back is always very destressing.

    Thank your for this release.

    Unfortunately there seems to be an openvr incompatibilty:

    openvr runtime init failed. vorpx will not work correctly.
    try to restart steamvr or your pc.
    openvr runtime error:
    Interface Not Found (105)(105)

    -another small bug i encountered is that the unreal profile is still invisible

    Thanks for the info Ralf.

    I have encountered another error, dont want to open another thread.

    When using MPC-HC (64) and pressing DEL, vorpX goes OFF and the Player asks me if i want to delete that media file. – Configuring the VorpX menu key to any other key raises the same problem. It appears that vorpX somehow sends “DEL” to MPC-HC even a different key has bee assigned.
    I found a .reg in the vorpX backup folder, using that didnt help. The player wont show up in the HMD at all.

    Removing the settings completely in the registry let me start the player but i cant get into the settings because of the problem described above.

    Rune (G3D)

    This old game looks quite nice in FULL VR with Geometry Mode.

    -First view “all devices” and choose openGL in your video settings
    -MUST Use Edgepeek MONO (or MONO HotKey) to see HUD and Menus ! (and on Gamestart)
    -Set
    DesiredFOV=100.000000
    DefaultFOV=100.000000
    in user.ini
    -get the profile from the cloud
