Thanks Ralf, that was it. I guess I will make a little AHK script to change desktop resolution and then run Half-Life. Unless you have a better idea on how to automate this. (almost done with Episode 1, so really only going to use for episode 2, just wanted to know the reason, so now I am happy, thanks)

Thanks, but I tried that. I used “-normal -w 2560 -h 1920” without the double quotes, but whenever I start a game it “resets” to widescreen 1920 x 1080.

    Anyother ideas?

Others have to have this issue, not that its that big a deal, just I only play a few minutes a day and I have to change to 4×3 and then set the resolution in HL2, episode 1 and so far behave the same way. Can I make an ini file read only or something?

ok, sorry I thought it was vorpx changing it. I see now that everytime I try and change the resolution to a 4×3 and 2560×1920 it runs great, but after I quit and restart the game its back to a widescreen 1920×1080 resolution. Is there a simple fix?

Or maybe make a config file Read Only?

Great idea, can’t believe I never thought of that. I have 25 or so real machines, plus many virtual pincabs so you could say I’m addicted to pinball. I run VPX in VR, which is awesome and everyone who like pinball should try it out. Will try FX3 later today. Thanks for the idea, hope it works

Thanks, got what Beardo got working (can’t find the other exe, but can pick it from the steam launch window options). It was very “blinky” the first time I ran it, but the second time it was much better. I can see this working really well once a profile gets created. Yeah, this could bring many people over to VorpX! Will be testing more out today, wish me luck :0

Thanks for all the advice. I got it looking great now, except the game menus font is so small (not vorpx fault as I’m running a very high resolution). I changed my resolution to 3200×2400 full screen and the crosshairs are sharp again!!!! Loving this game again, well worth the price of VorpX for only this game

I’m playing half life 2 again in prep for half life alyx. Does everyone else also have a blurry screen especially easy to see on the crosshair, except if I turn on edge peek, then everything is very clear. I’m running 4×3 very high custom resolution, but vorpx still complains sometimes and tells me to run 4×3. Maybe my setup got corrupt somehow. Just wondering as i enjoy this so much, but want it to be the best it can. Thanks

I got Biosshock to run with the high custom resolutions and it looks incredible, very sharp. Its like the convergence is off (might be compleely wrong here)

Those resolutions should show up under the 4×3 resolutions. you have to select 4×3 first, then you should see 1920×1440, etc.

Thanks for the quick response, Still working on this.

I found a problem on the Oculus touch settings under the Delete Key. It says Sensativity Right X twice. I think it should be Y for the Second one.

Only way not to have it run in 640×480 was to turn off option to change resolution in Vorpx Menu. Does this make sense? I at least don’t have edge peak troubles when its running at 1920×1080 on monitor (looks the same in the headset either resolution though).

Well I got it playing fairly well now. Not sure what I did wrong, but it seems so much better. Only issue now is it seems to be stuck at 640×480 in windowed mode. Every so often the mouse gets caught outside the window and I have to take my HMD off to click back in the window to set focus. Anyway around this? What resolution should the game be at? thanks again

Which version of RE2 does this work for? I just got the RESIDENT EVIL 2 / BIOHAZARD RE:2 version on steam and wondering if that will work with the new profile. thanks
