Disabling the map and HUD did not fix G3D for my in VorpX. Too bad. Here’s hoping for a real solution soon.
sucajParticipantfugazi, can you elaborate? How do you disable the rotating map/hud? Is it a game setting?
sucajParticipantI’ve reinstalled everything relevant, including GPU drivers, except for Windows :)
That’s super disappointing. If you do find any potential causes please do update this thread. Obviously I’m not the only one with the problem.
sucajParticipant@Ralf – one idea – there was a GTA5 update just a couple days ago. Could this update be interfering with the G3D rendering? Have you tried the new update yourself?
sucajParticipantSame with me. No G3D no matter what – I’ve tried launching with it enabled probably dozens of times now with no luck. Full reinstall of VorpX didn’t help either. Especially frustrating since I got to see how great G3D looks a few times! My new 1080ti is so disappointed! @Ralf – anything else we can try?
sucajParticipant@Oliiiiive – thanks, I will try that again. I also had installed and have removed the FOV mod that comes with the GTA5 VR mod – are there any other files/settings that you had to remove other than what is inside the GTA5 directory?
@Ralf – oh alright, I didn’t know that. I wanted to completely delete all registry entries for VorpX since I’m at the scorched-earth point of troubleshooting this issue… as far as I know, there’s not an option to keep registration while removing the other keys. But thanks for the tip. I will try launching in G3D, but I’ve done that before with no dice. Again, SOME part of G3D is working, as trees and car wheels are rendered in 3D, while the rest of the scene is 2D. Super weird.
sucajParticipantI’ve now also completely reinstalled GTA5 from scratch with no luck restoring geometry 3D. I also reinstalled VorpX but am waiting on a new activation code…frustrating that this is still a manual process after all this time.
sucajParticipantCan’t wait! That will go a long way to reducing all the fiddling currently required. Good work, Ralf.
sucajParticipantany hints as to what DirectVR is?
sucajParticipantGot it. Awesome that you are willing to work on/release a profile so quickly, and looking forward to it mature. Thanks.
sucajParticipantThanks Ralf!
I’ll know for myself in a few hours, but how are the new shaders working in 3D?
Fallout 4 is such a disaster in the shader department in G3D that I find it completely unplayable. I’m really worried some of that will carry over to Skyrim SE.
Opinions on lighting aside, what are the referred-to downsides of using VorpX with SE vs the original?
sucajParticipantRalf, why can’t VorpX just attempt geometry 3D in every game like Tridef and every other injection driver? It doesn’t have to work perfectly, but it might, and there’s no harm to having it as an advanced option.
sucajParticipantWeird, 3rd time loading did the trick! Everything is in proper 3D now. Thanks!
The only remaining issue is that something with the scale seems to have changed from the prior version? Even jacking up the separation to the max (5.0), the world is still oversized. This wasn’t an issue in previous versions, where 1.2-15 was perfect. It’s also not an issue in other games (just tried Skyrim, for instance).
sucajParticipantYeah, some of the shaders/post-processing in MGE-XE definitely cause the white screen, but that’s not what I’m seeing. I’m seeing a perfectly working image – only it’s in 2D, no matter which 3D mode in VorpX I select. I didn’t change any settings at all in Morrowind except that I upgraded to the latest VorpX.
Glad that you love Morrowind as much as me :) VorpX breathes new life into it for sure.
sucajParticipantThanks for looking into it! I’m one of the many G3D-or-bust folks, so here’s hoping! G3D was so amazing in Morrowind in previous versions.
