Forget the mouselook, use FaceTrackNoir pre alpha 1.9 (downloadable from the older fsx thread on another forum about fsx+oculus, just google it), and emulate trackIr.Jul 25, 2013 at 7:04pm in reply to: Pay now / Alpha or Beta version? #2064
Ralf: thank you for showing up!
Most of us probably understand that you have your private life, and your priorities. I personally would like to ask you (and I’m sure many of us thinks the same way) if you could post weekly updates at least, even if you you didn’t find time to work on Vorpx. Just let us know, please, that things are still on track.
It really doesn’t take much time to drop a few lines, and there are many of us, who are waiting eagerly. Thanks!Jul 22, 2013 at 11:17pm in reply to: VorpX Beta Review #2033
museumsteve:It is how do you see yourself that counts, not your years. I saw 70+ years people do miracles on youtube (figure skating, drumming, etc…).
Back to topic: I also got my processing mail. Ralf, please, give us a sign!Jul 22, 2013 at 4:25pm in reply to: VorpX Beta Review #2029
museumsteve: I got your point, and you are also right. But I’m not asking much, isn’t it??? And yeah, RFactor 2 would be nice! :)Jul 22, 2013 at 4:22pm in reply to: Pay now / Alpha or Beta version? #2028
Yeah, man, don’t worry, I’m upset too. But it doesn’t help. Try to find something that eases the frustration.Jul 21, 2013 at 1:14pm in reply to: VorpX Beta Review #2022
museumsteve: That’s fine, we know that. But when someone comes and tells you that he is developing a commercial software which would fill a big gap for Oculus users, than the person seemingly evoraporates into thin air, people get pissed off. It would take no more than one minute (!) for Ralf to make a short announcement every week where the development is heading. And unless he is trapped on the top of the Mount Everest without electricity and internet, I don’t see why he is unable to give us SOMETHING. Is this a huge request??? From future customers??? Damn…Jul 12, 2013 at 4:03pm in reply to: Pay now / Alpha or Beta version? #1982
The torrent might be a little harsh, but otherwise I have to completely agree with MrGeddings. The fact that Ralf is not releasing any updates, nor there is any communication whatsoever is distasteful. Why would it be so hard to release a daily update of a few words like ‘Today is was optimizing the code for Flight Simulator X’, etc. Hell, we don’t even no if the project is still a go, or not… As someone pointed out Ralf could be even dead by now, it wouldn’t make a difference.
And even though I don’t have my Rift yet, this complete lack of communication is really pissing me off.
I also don’t see the point why VorpX is not relased yet. As we could all see, it already works with many games, and besides, no one ever heard of software update??? Vorpx will need to updated nevertheless when the consumer verison comes out, to support 6 DOF tracking. Or at least I guess so. So, if software update will be necessary than what harm would be done by releasing it now, even strictly as a work-in-progress version? Look at Arma 3! The guys released the Alpha version on Steam, and thousands of people bought it already. The game is in Beta stage now, and all Alpha users updated to Beta, as they will be updated for the final version as well, when time comes. Meanwhile they are releasing DAILY updates in a few sentences, so people now what’s going on. And yeah, they already have a ton of money from it, and the gamers are happy, despite the fact that they have paid for and using a yet unfinished product.
The situation with VorpX is really disappointing, and I don’t know if we can count on it, or it will never be developed. I don’t know, because the only thing I get is complete silence.Jul 10, 2013 at 5:38pm in reply to: vorpX – Pre-Release Thread #1970
How much the new Oculus SDK will affect development?
Did you have any prior plans to include a home-made ipd configurator, which plans you can cancel now?
