And another fan-would-like-to-see-this-happen expressing his feelings.
Can’t vorpx somehow use the VR settings for psvr? I’m guessing some part of VR support must already be in the sourcecode.
Tummie555ParticipantSmall correction on y sensitivity 55 instead of 50 and I forgot to mention headtracking sensitivity set to 2.50
Tummie555ParticipantP.s. the “ht as gamepad ” option is only available if you set controller override to NO . There is no need to override because the headtracking seems to add another right stick (your neck). Which makes the controller responsible for all the control input, so no mouse/gamepad conflict.
My settings so far with this option enabled:
Input settings tab:
Deadzone correction 21
x sensitivity 40
y sensitivity 50Gamepad settings tab (don’t know if this influences anything, but to be sure)
Left stick 0.15
Left stick 0.15
Deadzone left stick 0.01
Yright stick 0.15
X right stick 0.15
Deaedzone righst stick 0.01Alien isolation in game setting controller sensitivity to 5 clicks from left.
My resolution is 1920×1440 (manually added to engine_settings.xml)
It’s still not perfect, but works great while walking/looking and does eliminate all bending. You could turn the deadzones correction up to 22 or 23 but after that is starts to move on it’s own. (Lowering will make the screen move with you when turning your head very slow, as if there is no headtracking).
Maybe it’s a good starting point that can be finetuned by an vorpx expert.
Tummie555ParticipantBending of the world issue can be fixed by putting either a lower fov in the engine settings xml (I use 90), which makes it a lot less noticeable but the world will become bigger.
It can also be completely fixed by a setting in the vorpx menu ” ht as gamepad “. I hope this thread is still alive because I need some in depth knowledge/help with the sensitivity settings when turning on this option. I can’t get it to work as smooth as the standard (mouse) headtracking. Please advice! Like njaynl said, let’s try to make a good setting together!
Tummie555ParticipantMaybe flawless widescreen can fix your fov? It’s free, I use it for battlefield 4 campaign mode. It’s able to bump it up by a little over 30, so 90 in the game + 30 from flawless widescreen, let me know if it works, I love mirrors edge ( 1 ; )
Tummie555ParticipantPressing mouse wheel and you enter cinema mode.
Tummie555ParticipantThanks for replying guys,it’s just that I could find a lot of answers spread out through different threads on this forum, but not one dedicated to it. Especially with VR a lot of people prefer playing with a controller and when there’s no native VR support, you can bet the controls aren’t optimised for such games as well. So far my reasoning to create this thread.
I had seen something that looked like a gamepad emulator in vorpx, but couldn’t figure it out. To make this “tutorial” complete, what would be the settings in vorpx if you just want to map the right stick to mouse movement?
I’m guessing, set gamepad override to PARTIAL and everything off apart from the right stick. But after that I’m lost…
Tummie555ParticipantOkay, just figured out for third category the easiest way to solve is install xpadder. Probably other software options to. This program let’s me use the controller as if it were a mouse or keyboard. So I configured xpadder to use only the right stick input and output it as mouse movement (x and y axis). Left every other button unaltered. Bit a fiddle with sensitivity, and in the actual game, deleted the keybinding for the right stick. Now even battlefield 4 works just fine in Virtual Reality with a controller. No jumping/snap turning/any other weird stuff going on. Hope this helps anyone. Day 2 user of vorpx.
Tummie555ParticipantIf there’s any jiberish in my post, feel free to point that out as well!
Tummie555ParticipantExact same situation here. Everything works except this “jump/snap turn” right stick behaviour. Does anyone know where to look?
