RalfKeymasterYou can keep the license when you uninstall. The uninstaller asks whether you want to remove it. Also your key stays valid unless you reinstall Windows or change hardware. So if you remove it inadvertantly, you can just use the one you got earlier.
BTW: Just double checked whether there might be an issue with the latest version, but here everything looks normal. On an i7 CPU usage is barely noticable. On an i5 it would probably look a bit higher due to missing hyper threading but should be nowhere near 25% normally. I would expect about 2-3% at full clock speed and max. 10% or so while the CPU is idling clocked down. Considering your earlier issue with Defender, which shouldn’t have occured in the first place, there probably is something odd happening on your system.
RalfKeymaster25% sounds very high indeed. If you ahve any other software running that potentially might monitor other processes similar to AV software, try to disable that.
vorpControl uses a certain amount of CPU cycles though while seemingly doing nothing since it constantly checks for newly started programs in very short intervals. However, as soon as a game gets hooked that stops, so it’s not a big deal. Doesn’t interfere with your gaming performance. If you can’t find the culprit, just make sure to not leave vorpX running while you don’t use it.
RalfKeymasterIt should only do that for a few seconds normally (like with any program you start). If it stays that way for you for some reason, please first check whether updating the AV definitions helps. A manual check for updates in the Windows settings is enough for that.
If updating the definitions does not help, try to exclude the vorpX program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) from scanning.
RalfKeymasterThis does not happen with the latest Defender definitions from today (1.1283.1902.0). Make sure to update your AV definitions by manually searching for updates in the Windows settings.
To avoid potential false positive detections like this altogether exclude the vorpX program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) from scanning.
RalfKeymasterYes.
RalfKeymaster@ dlrjajdlfo: There is no option currently to recenter vertically for watching movies while lying in bed, sorry. One of those things on the nice to have feature list.
RalfKeymasterIf you by any chance are using a multi monitor system, disconnecting additional monitors is worth a try.
RalfKeymasterOnce there is an official profile for a game prior user profiles can’t be used anymore unless you rename the game’s .exe. That might look like an unnecessary restriction to you, but ease of use and a lower chance to mess things up for less experieced users had to ranked higher in this regard than total freedom for pro users.
BTW: You can trust me when I say that you don’t want to use any other profile for Far Cry Primal than the official one. Neither has a potential user profile DirectVR support nor any shader fixes (provided it supports G3D at all).
RalfKeymasterYour new key has been sent three days ago directly after you requested it.
Please check your spam folder.
I will resend it manually, just in case. If it still does not reach you, let me know.
RalfKeymasterWill be included in the next vorpX release mid January.
RalfKeymasterThe official profiles are for the new games.
RalfKeymasterYou don’t have to play the game in cinema mode.
Make sure to run the DirectVR memory scan after entering the game world (not in the menu). The scan can be started either with ALT+L or from the vorpX ingame menu. After a successful DirectVR scan vorpX manipulates the game’s camera directly instead of using mouse emulation.
Whenever a game supports DirectVR head tracking you see a notification about that in your headset when you start the game and also in the top left corner of the monitor mirror window.
Just in case: if you are using a Pimax 5k/8k, DirectVR probably will not work as intended currently.
RalfKeymasterThe automatic FOV adjustment only works in multiplayer modes. If you want to play the campaign, it’s probably best to switch the ‘Play Style’ option in the vorpX menu to ‘Immersive Screen Mode’. Immersive screen mode doesn’t require a 100% perfect FOV.
Resolution can be changed/raised on the DirectVR page of the ingame menu. If your PC can handle it, that’s the way to go for better image quality.
General hint: always read the vorpX messages that you see in the headset and/or in the top left corner of the game window. Important hints like the above are typically shown via notifications when you start a game.
RalfKeymasterPlease follow the instructions on top of the license dialog and send an e-mail with your request code to the mail address mentioned there.
To avoid delays make sure to use the same mail address that you entered into the purchase form.
RalfKeymasterNo DirectVR for Black Ops currently, but there is a way to change the FOV: https://www.h3xed.com/pc-gaming/call-of-duty-black-ops-fov-fix
Should be possible to add this to the DirectVR settings optimizer. I’ll look into it for the next version.
General hint: If vorpX can’t handle FOV automatically and the game doesn’t allow to change it officially, it’s always worth a shot to google ‘FOV Game Name’ for a potential mod/hack/tutorial. If that doesn’t yield any useful result for a particular game, check the ‘1-2-3 Game Setup’ in the vorpX help. It describes a workaround using vorpX’s ‘Image Zoom’ option that works for any game.
