RalfKeymasterThere was a profile including Direct VR for the initial release version of the remasters, currently both are disabled though since some changes were made to both games with a patch which vorpX didn’t like. It’s likely (but not 100% certain!) that they will work again in the next vorpX version.
In general the DX9 versions are much better with vorpX though, so that’s not really a loss. There’s not much point in the remasters in regard to enhancements (mostly just slightly better textures), but they run much worse with vorpX due to a performance degrading hack that was necessary to make them work at all.
Judging from Steam’s Bioshock store page you seem to get access to the originals too when purchasing the remasters (“Contains both BioShock™ and BioShock™ Remastered!”).
I can recommend the original DX9 Bioshock 1+2 fully. Both have full Direct VR support, and the atmosphere is just perfect for VR.
RalfKeymasterGeometry 3D creates the stereo 3D effect through rendering the scene twice, just like native VR apps do. In addition to that vorpX also has a different 3D creation method called Z-Buffer 3D, which doesn’t look as good, but instead is a lot faster.
Positional tracking means that your headset’s position in space is translated into camera movement in the game.
RalfKeymasterIt’s possible to ‘walk’ one or two steps in many games with Geometry 3D support. Not really roomscale, but there is positional tracking in many G3D games that allows for a little bit of movement.
Some games with positional Direct VR support (direct manipulation of a game’s camera) also allow a bit more than that, which could be called ‘basic roomscale’.
Far Cry 3 belongs to neither of these categories though unfortunately.
RalfKeymaster@ nieda : that is not correct, all EU contries have a sales tax, precisely ‘value added tax’ (VAT), ranging from 16%-25% depending on the country. Scandinavian countries are among those with the highest VAT.
RalfKeymasterPlease contact support |at| vorpx com with your MyCommerce Order-ID or the name/e-mail address that you used for the purchase, in case you can’t find the Order-ID.
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to any purchase with the mail address you used to register here in the MyCommerce database, so I can’t check what might be giong on with out the data requested above.
RalfKeymasterPlease don’t install vorpX with any other account than the one you use it with. If you have your Windows configured in an unusual way (e.g. with access to certain folders limited to a certain account, that might cause all sorts of problems).
Ideally use a default Windows installation with one user account. Since the introduction of Windows Vista multiple users don’t make much sense anyway from a security perspective – with the exception of corporate environments where an admin might want to restrict user rights.
If you are still on Windows 7 and experience crashes with the config app, please make sure that you have the DotNet framework 4.6.2 installed.
RalfKeymasterThe reminders are just sent out rountinely, you can ignore it. They are mostly meant for people who overlook the activation instructions.
You can activate anytime you want, either now or when your headset arrives.
If your download link from the MyCommerce page expires until then, you can easily get a new one here: http://www.vorpx.com/request-new-download/
RalfKeymasterNo problem at all, your old key probably is still valid. Only if the request code changes due to a Windows reinstall or hardware change the key gets invalid. In case of a vorpX reinstall, a key usually stays vaild, so it makes sense to keep the aczivation e-mail.
if you need a new download, you can use this link:
http://www.vorpx.com/request-new-download/
RalfKeymasterDid you send the the mails to the address posted above or to MyCommerce?
Anyway: I will send you the link to the mail address you used to register here since it is only meant for special cases like yours and not supposed to be public.
RalfKeymastervorpX is only active while it is running. In Skyrim however the camera FOV is changed by vorpX, Skyrim then writes the changed FOV into savegames.
If you want to go back to monitor gaming, you can either load an older savegame from before you started to play with vorpX or manually change the FOV back to a value suited for your monitor:
1. While in the game open the console with the ‘~’ key (the one below ESC).
2. Type ‘fov 75 75’ (withiut the quotes) into the console and submit with the ENTER key
3. Close the console
4. Save the game
RalfKeymasterShadows are disabled by vorpX in Skyrim SE. You can change how vorpX deals with the shadows in the vorpX ingame menu (image page). The option is called G3D shadow treatment.
BTW: I would highly suggest to use the regular Skyrim with vorpX. Not only does it run better with vorpX on most machines, there are also less visual glitches (e.g. the shadows).
RalfKeymasterSorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately sometimes MyCommerce rejects payments for no apparent reason.
If you can’t order through MyCommerce, please send an e-mail to support |at| vorpx com. We can then provide you with an alternative payment option.
RalfKeymasterThis is a false positive
vorpX “injects” other programs which some av programs may classify as malicious behaviour without really being sure about it.
You should report this as a false positive to your av vendor so they can fix the issue.
In the meantime please exclude the vorpX program folder from scanning.
Sorry for the inconvenience. This is as annoying for us as it is for you.

RalfKeymasterWhile technically possible the company behind Track IR unfortunately doesn’t allow their tracking API to be used by anything else than their own hardware.
You should be able to use OpenTrack though which can map SteamVR input to TrackIR. While theoretically also affected by the same legal issues, its author apparently doesn’t care, which is quite bold considering how incredibly protective the Track IR company acts regarding patents and IP in general. Maybe he lives in China, Russia or some other country that doesn’t care – but that’s just a guess.
You’ll probably have to use vorpX in SteamVR mode too to avoid conflicts.
There may be a different, vorpX internal solution for at least some Codemasters games in the next vorpX version, but I can’t really promise that yet.
