It even got better in the meantime. Since my original post the new settings optimizer learned to auto-set a resolution based on what individual games allow and a user’s system supports.

While quite useful for almost any game with an optimizer profile, that is especially great for some games that allow unusual custom aspect ratios without glitches (e.g. Skyrim, Battlefield 4/1, Metro Redux). Significant image quality/performance gains through VR-headset optimized resolutions in such cases without having to deal with .ini edits or similar things. Everything just happens.

Hi, I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with my setup. Vorpx hooks into BF4 and it automatically attaches the mouse to headtracking. However, no matter what I do to “3d reconstruction,” there is no change. If I turn it on to Z normal or Z adaptive, I see no 3d effect. If I move any of the sliders, there is no change. If I load up Portal 2, I do see a 3d effect and moving the slider will change the intensity. What’s wrong with BF4?

Hello Vorpxians! I am delighted to have played through Enderal for Skyrim in full Geometry 3D with Vorpx on the Pimax 4K.
It was brilliant and made other 2d games very boring!
Now I am asking you all – what are the best games to play in VR right now?
The requirements are as follows –
    1. The game has to be full geometry 3D only – anything less just doesn’t do it!
    2. The game must be a full experience – not like those silly little VR games!
    3. The game must be high rated in general, preferably first person!

    Any suggestions would be great!

P.S. I have tried Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1 and 4, Doom and others – but they are unfortunately non-geometry 3D and don’t look great or immersive enough!

I too have enjoyed Skyrim, Fallout4, BioShock Infinate, and Metro LL, but recently I’ve been playing a lot of:

    – Battlefield 1 onilne
    – Star Wars Battlefront 2015 online
    – theHunter Call of the Wild (Assassins Creed Unity profile)

All 3 have in game FOV adjustment and good Z3D. And I’ve been playing online without a problem, no ban or disconnect.

I’ve noticed I end up choosing Z3D over G3D almost everytime, due to its agreeable shadows and faster performance – which means I can crank up the resolution and max the eyecandy.

p.s. As of a few weeks ago an update to Dying Light has unlocked native VR support again via quick file edit. It’s not perfect, but fun to check out.

I just got my hands on this game and i’ve been trying to use a custom 4:3 resolution in windowed mode and borderless windowed mode. I’ve tried to change the settings in game and using the PROFSAVE_profile file. It just stretches to a 16:9 size. Has anyone had any success in using a custom resolution or does this game just not allow it?

Coolio. thanks, better do a good old fashioned re-install – better find those save files…

SKSE.exe is a launcher but is the best option for modded Skyrim I think.
To be honest Enderal and Skyrim don’t look that graphically impressive anymore – even in VR with a gtx 1080.

So unless someone works out the fabled VR SLI that was mentioned by Nvidia a while ago – then those old school games are just too old. Which is a shame because the modern games like, Battlefield one, Rainbow six and some others, don’t run in geometry 3D – which is crap!

I hope that the Fallout 4 VR mode shall change my mind.

I would just overclock the 4670k.
The upgrade gives you 5-10% in modern games, like battlefield 4 (if you have a powerful gpu) and nothing in older ones, like skyrim.

    Hello

I have the problem that vorpX is not working correctly for me.

VorpX seem to connect to the game, because the game is starting with vorpX logo.
I try different games like battlefield 3 and BF4.
The game is starting with the vorpX logo, but during startup of the game, the games keep at the intro.
The game is then not starting !

I have three monitors. For the test disconnect two, and try with only one monitor with the same results.

I have also NVIDIA 3D Vision, and deactivated this in the NVIDIA control panel with same results.

VorpX Desktop viewer was working, but with activated 3 monitors will displayed not the primary monitor (like the description). It was displayed left monitor, in windows its monitor 3.

Oculus and SteamVR are working with the Standard-VR-Games.

I have tested in two systems (Windows8.1 and Windows 10), who are installed in two different harddisk at parallel installations.
With both systems the same results.

What can i do, that vorpX is working for me ?

    My System is :
    Intel i7 4790k
    Ram 16 GB – 2400
NVIDIA GTX 1070 (usually with 3 monitors)
    Oculus Rift (with Touch controller)

Hello Not sure if it is related to the latest update but my vorpx in game settings (del)menu is missing the text associated with each button. What is strange is that this only only true for certain games Battlefield 1, Fallout 4 and Skyrim. Although I never had any issues with skyrim before. Currently the text shows up for alien isolation.

    help is appreciated.
