I completely understand as far as graphics goes and the game is 16 years old but unfortunately physics wise, it is the best oval racing game available and thousands of people still use it despite its age and modern modded tracks and cars are available. Try THIS link if you want another go and here is how I got head tracking to work.

Mainly the profile is the last step I need (which I mainly got thanks to your profile) but I understand past this point I can work on it since the game can be a pain to install.

Thank you for your reply. You can try VorpX with “Copa Petrobras de Marcas” on Steam (link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/359800/Copa_Petrobras_de_Marcas/), this is a free game. Copa Petrobas runs on the same game engine as Automobilista. Automobilista used to be called Game Stock Car and Copa Petrobas is a stripped down version of Game Stock Car, a ‘commercial’ for the Petrobas petrol company with less cars and tracks.
There are VorpX users using Game Stock Car:

    Game Stock Car Extreme

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UBwRaehBTE (check the comments).

The game studio Reiza renamed Game Stock Car to Automobilista because it got a lot more cars than stock cars. Reiza even promised to add VR support to Automobilista, but they did not deliver: https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/reiza-studios-automobilista-vr-statement.125699/.
Automobilista is still highly praised for its force feedback and AI. VR is still wished for. It would be great if you can make it fully work. I will be happy to beta test it and I even will write a recommendation on RaceDepartment (the biggest simracing site) when it works, so you might get new customers :-).

I’m using VorpX with Automobilista (in virtual cinema mode: smoother head tracking). Automobilista is showing shadows in one eye only, so I have to disable the shadows. This makes the cars look like they are ‘floating’ above the road, so I’d like to enable shadows again. I saw a fix for rFactor last year: “rFactor: shadows fixed, positional tracking, DirectVR: FOV”. Since Automobilista is based on rFactor, can this be fixed for Automobilista too?

I am back! Had to take a little break from trying to get this to work, but I am back at it.

The reason for checking “don’t optimize” is because if I don’t, cars look like this when I get in them. Otherwise everything is fine. Not sure what the issue is here.

    No luck…

Got it to load in SteamVR but it still has jitters.

All other native VR games run fine; DCS, PCars 1&2, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, P3Dv4, etc.

what happend is i put 2 mods back in to my clean gta file
menyoo, spawn sp cars.asi along with open iv asi’s etc.
the day before i’d updated windows 10 & nvidia’s latest driver,
all worked as normal when we were running 18.3.1.0.
went to test the mods was opening vorpx which auto updated to 18.3.2.0
got in game. menu was all over the place, extra judder, shrunk fov in car

the update seemed to of caused this.
i think maybe i messed up by resetting everything to default ?
in the end turning off partial over ride, disabling tracking prediction
dropping my shadow quality put everything back to normal.

all these updates & settings has been a learning curve having been less than a year since i switched from console to pc. would never go back now tho’

cheers for the help guys ! issues resolved.

Okay I think I figured it out!

in the new vorpx version with the fluid sync is set to auto on the Pimax and WMR everything is choppy. When I turn it off everything is smooth again! Maybe because it seems to kick back to their respective reprojection tech I think and framerate shoots up to 90 also. (80 on pimax 8k)

Also the Pitool has to remain at 1.0 for pimax users.

Is there a way to make the Rocket league profile default to “fluid sync off” by default if it detects WMR and pimax users?

My rift is buried in closet but I imagine it might be a similar situation.

    Hope this helps.

PS: Also The default vorpx rocket league profile is really good actually, I would just recommend when you get time bumping the 3D from 1.0 to 2.0 as it gives the cars and scene more realistic depth (and I have heard that is about their approx size of those cars if they existed IRL ;) After turning in game camera fov to 110.

Thank you, no problem take your time. yes 1.1.4. last info: Odyssey+ is now better to some extent (test new version) by turning fluid sync off. Now it reports 90/90 again. but if it drops frames with a lot of cars it’s not reprojecting in new version and gets juddery.

I think the issue could be that fluid sync is not kicking in new version even when you force it on for WMR, pimax. When the frames drop in the 18.3.1 version it’s still buttery smooth. I still have to test the Vive and rift.

Edit: Also try out the cloud profile called [rocket league] by rocket league when you do test. It’s very nice!

I havent noticed any artifacts. But what I do notice is that project cars lools and feels silky smooth now.

Silky is not a word i would have ever thought I would use when decribing project cars 2. Its amazing.

    Hello,

I was playing since the last tree month’s Raceroom and later ProjectCars2 (Steam VR) and Oculus Rift, without VORPX. I do not need vorpX via Steam-VR to play this games.

Yesterday I installed vorpX because I want to play GTA5 with Oculus but the performance goes now total worse for all other games as well even I try play with Oculus. Without Oculus the games are working fine.

I’m not able to play Raceroom and ProjectCars2 with Oculus anymore. Any ideas how to fix this issue?

    Regards, Selcuk

    Hi,
I’m considering getting Oculus Rift and I would be very interested in using vorpX.
I see that the various versions of Crysis are supported, so in particular Cry Engine 3 is supported. I have been developing a simulator for the Cry Engine 3 free SDK which includes aircraft, trains, ships, cars and spacecraft. I run it in Sandbox. Running the simulator with the Rift would be amazing.

So here’s my question: will vorpX work correctly when running Sandbox?
Has anyone actually done this, using any Sandbox versions?
    Many thanks,
    Chris
