    Hi Guys,

Update 0.64 is now available. To get it, simply start vorpX Control, it will be downloaded and installed automatically. Some more information, including a changelog, can be found in this blog post.

    Hi,

Skyrim doesn’t seem to detect vorpx. I load up vorpControl.exe, then load Skyrim on my steam account, the display doesn’t change to the oculus ‘goggle’ vision, just the regular desktop display.

I’ve also tried right clicking on vorpx in my desktop trap and clicking ‘create desktop shortcut’, navigating to skyrim in the steam directory and adding the ‘tesv.exe’. But when I run that, I get a:

“The program can’t start because d3dx10_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”

This message only pops up when vorpx is running. I can click okay, and then the game loads, but does not render the oculus ‘goggle’ vision.
When I exit vorpx and play skyrim regular this message does not pop up.

I have tried re-installing skyrim but that doesn’t seem to fix it.

I have disabled AVG, I don’t have any scanners, and have exited Skype. I also don’t have any mods on skyrim.

I’ve also tried Morrowind, and Dear Esther, which all have the same problem.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this?

    Thanks for any help!

Is there any way to map the edge peek to a (360) controller button without setting ‘Handle gamepads internally’ to on as turning that on makes the view spin out uncontrollably in Fallout 3 for me.

    Thanks

Updates are issued automatically, similar to Steam updates. As soon as an update is available it will be downloaded when you start vorpX Control.

    Hi Paul,

if nothing unforseen happens, the update will be available sometime next week. You just have to start vorpX Control to get it, it will be downloaded automatically.

    Hope that helps.

    Hey all,
I recieved my oculus rift yesterday and proceeded to use the steps to get it working for skyrim on

This morning I was able to register my vorpx and get it to show up on my task bar. After reading much into the forums I removed my d3d9.dll and ive even removed other files that were the result from yesterdays results from that website.

Once I did this i get nothing when i boot up skyrim, just a black screen. after replacing those dll’s I can boot up like I did and mess around with the oculus but thats it. i do not get the vorpx control or in game menu when i press del

any help or insight would be much appreciated. this has been getting frusterating and almost regretting paying for vorpx if i cant get this to work.

    Thanks

Some time has past (3 weeks) since I last used VorpX and it was working flawlessly. Last night I wanted to use it but it just does not work anymore.

I can load up the configurator and control without problems, the issue is after I try and load the game I wanna play. The screen turns black, has the text “VorpX” on the bottom of the screen and the version number in the lower left corner and that is how the screen stays until I end the process through Ctrl+Alt+Del.

I have not updated any drivers or change anything to cause it to stop working. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall.

Also it does not matter what game, every compatible/non-compatible game I have tried has the same results.

I would try and do a reinstall of VorpX but I accidentally deleted the setup file for it. Where can I re-download it from?

It was a little tricky to find the exception-rules in avast, but i think i got it. The report states that vorpControl.exe is suspicious for “Win32:Evo-gen”. I put exceptions for “vorpConfig.exe” and “vorpControl.exe”, now i can start it normally.

Ralf, AVG has to be completely disabled in order to start vorpX, adding vorpControl.exe as an exception has absolutely no effect. Is there anything that you can do about this?

    Glad that this is solved.

Instead of completely deactivating the scanner, it might be better to add vorpControl.exe as an exception. Almost all virus scanners allow this. This way you don’t compromise the security of your system.

BTW: What scanner are you using? I’d like to contact the vendor for whitelisting the false positive.

    Hi clawjelly,

There is indeed a file missing in your vorpX directory. It should have a file named vorpControl.exe, which is the most important one. Starting vorpControl.exe will enable vorpX, including the tray icon.

Please try to reinstall vorpX. Maybe the installation went wrong. it somehow looks that way, since the .tmp file shouldn’t be there normally.

    Hope that helps.

    Hey

Today i wanted to try the VorpX, but sadly it doesn’t work. I start the control panel as stated in the help file. After configuring though nothing happens. I press “apply”, nothing. I press “apply & close”, nothing. Games are still normal and i don’t even get the vorpx tray icon!

The oculus is recognized, non-vorpx stuff works properly, my virus scanner is deactivated, but nothing. To me it sounds like a DLL is missing or makes problems. Thats what my install dir looks like:

So one thing that Tridef does is allows you to increase both Tridef’s FOV and force the game’s FOV as high as you want, in addition to scaling the world up and down to any scale you want (essentially moving the eye distance closer or farther apart, I’m assuming). This is great because since most games aren’t officially supported, if they happen to work at all, I can get the 3D effect and scale to be nearly perfect every time since I have full control over these settings (or even make a miniature feeling world which is even cooler).

Is there any plan to allow us to scale these parameters to the extremes when necessary? I noticed you can increase the in game FOV a bit through VorpX, but it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference, and it seems to cause a weird distortion.

If there is no plan, then that would be a really great feature to have!

starts level headtracking works and 3d works crashes about 20 – 30 secs after that with no error.
