Hello everyone, hello Vorpx team and thank you for this totally amazing software.
I’m a brand new user and did sucessfully booted cyberpunk 2077in VR mode with mixed result, but at least its working and the rest is tweaking for optimisation.
But I have a trouble with dark souls PTD edition : I can’t really get passt the main menu, because the game lauches in a pretty terrible state, like 2 fps, slow as hell (like 4 minutes to get past the splash screens and getting to the main menu) and often visualy glitchy (alternating the display and a white screen really quickly in both headset and screen display, sometime only on the screen display).Of course, without vorpx the game run as intended (no mod installed, not even the fps and resolution unlocks).
I think my rig should be able to run it like a breeze (I5-10400F + GTX 2060 + 16GB ram) since it can run cyberpunk 2077, a very very much more demanding game.I tried to look on the forums here, but I only saw a few people saying the game don’t work anymore for them after a 2018 vorpx update.
So I just wanted to know if someone experienced the same problem, and if the allegedly breaking update has been solved since. Going to try with DS2 meanwhile.
Thanks for your attention.
Topic: Dark Souls 3
Wont start using VORPX, crashes immediately to desktop. Starts without VORPX fine though.
Hi,
I am using voprX with Oculus Rift CV1, an Asus GTX980, Intel I7 4770 with 16 GB ram, on a Asus Maximums Formula VI.
All the components are rather old (CPU/Ram/Mobo late 2013, GTX 2016, Oculus 2017). I have been playing games with vorpX without problems since 2017. I finished Dark souls III, Deus Ex Mankind Divided and since many months i am playing The Witcher 3. I play all in Cinema mode.
Since last year i have been having major problems when playing Witcher 3 in vorpX. The game starts fine but after some minutes Oculus is loosing tracking which results in:
1) image shifts quickly left to right. With one sensor disabled this is a little perceptible. With two sensors its like the image goes several cm left-right. So when this happens i have to quit the game and launch it again
The the problem repeats or:
2) image moves slowly to the right so every few minutes i have recenter to the screen
but then after several attempts
3) the action to recenter causes Oculus to become almost unresponsive, with fps dropping to <1fps per second. So i have to somehow quit the game.
The time and order of the above 3 is random. And if they do not happen at some point the computer crashes completly. All in all, i do not get to have one full hour of uninterrupted play.
I:
reinstalled Oculus (several time)
updated drivers (i have Windows 10)
moved the sensors and Oculus to different USB ports
purchased the Inateck USB extension card recommeded by Oculus
tried a powered USB 3 hub
did a factory reset on vorpX settings and profile
replaced the PSU (which was really old) with a Corsair Builder Series CX750M 750W
cleaned the case of dust
cleaned the cpu stock cooler of dust and replaced the thermal paste
did a Bios reset and update to the latest version
tried all solutions for “tracking issues with Oculus Rift”: power management, some advanced software for extra functionsCan you please help find a solution to this?
Topic: Your Vorpx Recommendations?
Hey everyone,
So made a thread earlier in 2020 when lockdown started happening trying to get ideas for good games to play via Vorpx during the last year and wanted to make a new recommendation thread, if anyone was interested in posting their best Vorpx experiences.
My last thread I mentioned my favorite, before 2020, being modded 1st person Sekiro, 1st person Dark Souls 3, 1st Person Mass Effect Andromeda
So I didnt get to do as much Vorpx gaming in 2020 as I would have liked, but I would like to point out some great experiences I had in Vorpx in 2020
So for new recommendations:
Resident Evil 7 – even with Z-Adaptive, not Geo3d. There were some issues with gun ghosting and shadows in Geo 3d for me, but Z-Adaptive didnt have those at all.
Seriously – if you were kinda bored with RE, I was too, but… this game is just a goddamn treasure and should be experienced by -ANYONE- with Vorpx. You can find it for like 8 bucks on Keys sites.
Metro Exodus was pretty fantastic as well, was happy with the direction that game took with the open world FPS design and surprised me with how well it ran in Vorpx.
Titanfall 2 – Ran incredibly smooth and just a great campaign in VR
On a more difficult recommendation, got Dark souls 2 to work in 1st person VR with Cheat Engine. That was a fun one, you could find the instructions online if you wanted to – but Id Recommend Sekiro or Dark Souls 3 before it, much easier to get up and running.
So anyone have any games they thought were particularly good to experience they want to point out in the last few months/year?
Thanks for your time and take care
For some reason, whenever I try to tab out of Dark Souls III when using VorpX and SteamVR, whenever I go to tab back in it infinitely displays the “Waiting for Dark Souls III…” thing that SteamVR does for games. This has only happened using VorpX and no other VR game has caused this for me. How do I fix this issue

Awesome game if you like Dark Souls kind of stuff.
3D Construction works best at wide resolutions.
Set shadows on low to medium and take advantage of the games supersampling – it works better than setting a high resolution.
Switching from Z3D to G3D in game will glitch G3D until the game is restarted.G3D is good in most parts of the game. There’s a couple of areas where transparent textures may not render correctly.
Hi Ralf,
There is a profile for Sekiro which is optimised for Third person play
Its in immersive screen etc.
Dark Souls 3 (which I believe is the same engine) also has a profile designed this way.
Now,
Both games have a first person mod, via, cheat engine.
Dark souls 3 can be put into full vr mode and tweaked. The results are great. Fantastic scale, great geometry 3d and positional tracking.
Unfortunately I have run into a problem with Sekiro,
I had assumed it would behave just like dark souls 3…..and for the most part it does.
Bit the lighting/shadows glitch like a S.O.B when positional tracking is enabled.
Is there anything that can be done (like in Dark Souls 3) to fix that issue?
Many thanks in advance
