Great points! I bought Dying Light a few weeks ago. Dishonored I played quite far through but would like to complete with Oculus now I have it (have only had DK2 for about 2.5 weeks). Alien Isolation also have but only played about 6 hours so far non-VR. Bioshock infinite I agree would be great. GTA V I don’t own yet. It’s currently on sale for at half price at greenmangaming. I agree Oculus should have had something like Vorpx or contacted Ralph to work with him? Seems counter-productive their lack of interest. I think Palmer is so focused on getting a new generation of VR games with menus and text VR compatible from the ground up. I think Elite Dangerous is a good example there… the menus are 3d and float in front of you.

    Thanks for your advice!

I had some trouble getting vorpX .9 going but not from vorpx it was nvidea. I had to do a try a few updates before I got it all ironed out. That and the oculus updates I had to juggle around some…

That being said some of my personal favorites with vorpx are:
Skyrim (If you like Skyrim wait till your in it)

Fallout NV (Same as Skyrim, if your a fan, this is amazing)

Dishonored (Great stealth game and has great combat and atmosphere)

Dying Light (Scary. Bring under pants.)

Alien Isolation (Scarier, mod your chair to hold a bed pan under it)

Bioshock Infinite (This game is so beautiful in the rift my eyes cant take it, great combat, story, amazing game)

GTA V (What is there to say, its VR GTA V lol, a lot of fun)

All have G3D except for GTA V. All that means is it has a “better” 3D appearance(although much more demanding). The reason g3D is great is because you can use positional tracking, leaning in and out and all that. Making for a really fun new way to play all your favorite games.

As far as cheer leading for vorpX, its the internet. People like to shit on stuff constantly. VR is one of those things that needs to be done right or you hate it. People who hate stuff are the loudest and sometimes its damaging to the idea as a whole. Honestly Oculus should of had something like vorpX included or working on at least.. So when people pile hate on poor Ralf I just think why not point that at Oculus for more or less having there heads up there bums about certain things lol Anyway really, hand to god, vorpX works and is the main ingredient to a happy healthy vr life lol

Yeah check over all that stuff…

I got mine set up in 1st person with the fov mod. Change all the fovs to 70+… in gta v turn off head bob, motion blur, and the blury disrance, turn of msa for 3d, change all the driving cams to not auto center…

in vorpx turn off cinema, go to pixel 1:1, image zoom around maybe 80ish, 2d fov maxed out(just my taste), head tracking about 85ish, salt to taste…

controller wise I turned off all vorpx gamepad stuffs and used my joy 2 key work around. map mouse to look stick and runto left shft, maybe a few others too but it works great.

Stop stalling and buy it ! :) Its only $40.. Rift cost $300+.. pc $1000+… Games are $60 a pop… buying a great program, and the only program, that let’s you use all those together for only $40 seems like a good deal to me… just do it lol

I’m just concerned about wasting money if it doesn’t work for me. I persuaded a friend to buy it last year when he bought his DK2. He hasn’t had any luck getting it working with his games. I very rarely pay full price for a game anyway. GTA V is currently on sale below the price of vorpx. A demo would have been a great way to test it out before spending.

Its all in the set up. Use vorpx menu (del) to adjust to your taste. Skyrim and gta seem to run better after update. Played full vr 3D gta v just fine, infact the 3D effect seems even better after setting it up. Just play with settings you’ll get it.

Thanks Ralf I got it working just trying to get GTA open right it works fine and goes the the loading screen just never stops loading single player or multiplayer… Still trying different settings

Run the GTA launcher as administrator, see if that works. I run into this problem with GTA V on Win10 even when not using VorpX.

Please double check whether you followed ALL steps in the DK2 Setup Guide in the vorpX help. It explains two possible setups. Short version below. Please still read the guides in the help, they also contain other important information.

In GTA V (and other games) you can alternatively select the output monitor in the game’s options menu.

Please also make sure that the game uses true 1920×1080 fullscreen mode.

You have two options to use vorpX:

    A. The convenient one (works with most games)

    1. Set the Rift DK2 to “Extend Desktop to HMD”
    2. Use the Rift DK2 as SECONDARY monitor in Windows
    3. Set the Rift DK2 to “Portrait” mode in Windows
(might be “Landscape flipped” in Windows 8)
    4. Set vorpX to “Show on DK2″ display wise in the vorpX config app.

    B. The compatible one

    1. Set the Rift DK2 to “Extend Desktop to HMD”
    2. Use the Rift DK2 as PRIMARY monitor in Windows
    3. Set the Rift DK2 to “Portrait” mode in Windows
(might be “Landscape flipped” in Windows 8)
    4. Set vorpX to “Use system settings” display wise in the vorpX config app.

It is important to choose the right setting in the vorpX config app according to your display settings in Windows. It is important to choose the right setting in the vorpX config app according to your display settings in Windows.

So yesterday I was able to get it working…but today the screen is not going to the rift. Here’s what I did:

    1) Launched Vorpx service
    2) Went to configure it, told it to show on Rift (as I did yesterday)
    3) Started GTA V….but it kept displaying on my main screen.

    Any ideas?

I got this working when on Win 8.1 64bit (sillyly upgraded to Win10 and no joy now!). My setup is a GTX980 GPU if that makes a difference.

    Steps that worked for me:
    1. Set the Rift to be in Extended mode.
    2. Start Vorpx
    3. Turn off Rift
    4. Launch GTA V with Rift off
    5. Get loading screen, wait!
    6. When white splash screen is up and only then turn Rift on after a few seconds.
    7. Win! :)

If turning it on too early get the same error as the OP, is all about timing it right. Also sometimes the vorpx doesn’t hook in, all about the timing so keep trying.
Game is great in VR, especially driving :)

Did anyone find a resolution for this? I’m currently tearing my hair out over it. Steam version of GTA, VorpX 0.8.1.0 beta, Oculus 0.6.0.1 beta runtime. Seeing an identical log to OP:

Okay so just like everyone else… I can’t run any game that’s 64bit, due to corpControl64.dat not running. On start up, windows tells me that “VR Stereo Driver Control has stopped working”

After hours, and hours… and lets face it, I spent ALL DAY yesterday, attempting to get GTA 5 to work. And It doesn’t. Plain and Simple.

Yes I have done EVERYTHING ever posted in these forums on how to fix it. Other then Reinstalling windows…. Are you kidding me? For a product that costs $43CAD, I should NOT, and I repeat, NOT have to reinstall my operating system to make it work. If that was the case, the product should be like $9.99. or still in beta, for free.

Clearly this is an ongoing issue, that they just don’t seem to really care to fix. And yes….. Ralf… I deactivated my Antiviruses, and firewalls. I have completely uninstalled them. Which is also outrageous, and a very debilitating feature required to use a program.(white listing I can understand, needing to uninstall? Just unnecessary for program in this price range) (Its like I’ve payed $43 for hours of headaches, cause a program can’t do as advertised.)

If there is not anything else you can tell me to resolve this issue that doesn’t have to do with:
    Reinstalling windows
    Turning off antivirus
    Uninstalling/Reinstalling vorpX
Ensuring the corpControl64.dat is in the instillation folder
Ensure its a legit copy of GTA 5

(I have done all of these, many times, in many different ways, and it simply doesn’t work.) If no resolution can be determined, I would like to issue a refund. I refuse to pay $43CAD for a program that simply doesn’t do as advertised, for all customers. (A very adequate reason for any product someone would buy from a store)

I mean, I repair computers for a living, if that counts for anything. And I know with certainty, there is nothing wrong with my operation system, or computer H/W. I have run full diagnostics on my unit, and there is No Faults Found.

I hope you can understand my frustration, as this is fairly outrageous.

I look forward to resolving this matter.

Guys, does anyone launch GTA V with DK2+Vorpx on laptop?

    I did! Specs:
    HP 8730W
    i7-3630qm cpu @ 2.4 Ghz (good enough)
HD radeon 7700M (gpu 40% overclocked, mem 15% overclocked)

With vorpx driver and https://github.com/drdaxxy/gta5fov/releases , running 1920*1080 all graphicsettings as low as possible, I get 40 fps.

Question: Anyone knows where the seperation (3d strength) can be put at above the 2.00 maximum that is possible from the ingame menu(when i press del) . For my liking(letting it look as real as possible) even the maximum 2.00 setting is way too low.
    Thanks in advance
