I just played the old Observer version in vorpx (dellrifter profile plus the recommended .ini tweaks) and would like to add that to my top experiences. Stunning full VR! First time I did not even have to open vorpx menu once.

With the System Redux of Observer releasing this year, I thought Id ask for support in developing a profile for this game. If anyone can create and post on the Cloud Profiles, thatd be amazing!! Id love to be able to play with Vorpx on day 1!

When the camera is centered (ALT+SPACE) the view is centered precisely to the center of the virtual screen to make sure that your view is aligned with the game’s camera view. The reason for the slight difference in space above and below the screen is that all headsets to varying degrees use a slightly asymmetric view frustum with the bottom ‘half’ being a bit larger than the top ‘half’. That’s a neat little optimization done by headset vendors to account for the fact that the human brain tends to focus on the ground. Gives a few valuable extra screen pixels where it counts.

Normal games however almost always are rendered with symmetric view frustums. Now when you align the center of a virtual screen with a symmetrically rendered game to the asymmetrical headset view frustum, the result is a little more space below the screen than above. May trick the casual observer into thinking the screen isn’t centered correctly while in fact it is.

Hi, I really like the game Observer. Really like it in 3D, adds a whole ‘nother dimension. haha. I took some time to tailor your profile for the game for something that fits WMR sets, specifically the Odyssey+. I named it ‘Observed’ in case anybody wants to find it and try it out. I messed with the settings until the camera perspective felt right and tried to remove the binocular vision effect that happens. I wish there was a setting to enable a headset tracking deadzone parameter, like a thumbstick’s, so there would be less jutter in games. I know there is one setting that helps, but it’s not enough to negate the vertigo from camera-shake.

Do you have some sugestions of the best way to tweak shadows and lights gliches?
Its all about find necesary vertex and make it disable or non 3d or what i need exactly to do?

Also i wont like to make text (when appear for reading) smaller. I hope its part of HUD but i think i will need to find a vertex or pixels for this.

I don’t have LoF2 yet, still waiting for a sale. But from what I’ve read it uses Unreal 4 engine now instead of Unity (same as their other game Observer) so a Unreal Engine 4 based profile would probably work.

I’d first try one of the Observer profiles from the cloud, then if that didn’t work I’d copy profiles of Conarium, Hellblade, and Edith Finch.

I’ve found that UE4 games translate pretty well, with the only real bother being dynamic shadows. Sometimes turning them to Low or Off in game is good enough. Or you can enable the shader authoring tool in expert settings to cycle through them in game, activate those layers, and assign them to Do Not Render.

Then just find an image zoom that works best for a comfortable field of view and you should be good to play. Let us know how it goes.
