Since last patch I can’t turn on 3d reconstruction is Skyrim, forcing me to play on theatre mode. No matter how many times I click on the arrows, it stays off.
I’ve tried not using ENB, even with a brand new Skyrim install… but nothing seems to work.
It says the game is not supported. I launch using SKSE. It worked in the past…
Other games work flawlessly.
I think this is a problem of the game itself.
Some games like skyrim draw the hands and weapons really big, because it looks better on a 2d monitor.
Ralph said to this problem in a thread about skyrim problems:
For some reason hands and weapos are rendered separate from the rest of the world and they aren’t easy to detect inside vorpX.
Hello!
I have buy Vorpx today and I’m waiting for my CODE ^^
So, I want to know what I need for to use Vorpx on Skyrim with a DK1 ? What Runtime ?
Thank you,
Have a nice day.
Skyrim has always worked for me without having to do anything strange… Just follow the clear and easy to understand vorpx instructions. But if this helps someone then great :) Glad your having fun in vr skyrim!
SKYRIM STEAM FOR OCULUS DK2>>> IN CONFIGURE VORPX MENU General settings Device Settings: Oculus Rift Devkit 2. Oculus Profile>Do not use one!! Display Monitors>Show on Rift Dk2. Interpupillary Distance>adjust in game. INPUT> Enable head tracking and roll. Leave third uncheck. MISC> Run vorpX control as administrator. If using steam go into the steam right click properties on elder scrolls game. Local File tab. Browse Local files. Click on Skyrim> on Skyrim prefs right click properties and change to read only if its not already. OK awesome for next part you need to go to nexus mods and download using their nexus manager the Less intrusive MOD 2. It makes life a lot easier in game. ok after that run skyrim you may have to download Skyrim mod SKSE but try it first should work. When you click the game it should send it to your headset now. OH NO U LIED U SOB IM SEEING DOUBLE STILL!!!! FEAR NOT!!! This sounds retarded but it should work. Close one eye and spacebar/click the continue game( Recommend getting past initial part then saving a lot easier.) When your in the game press the delete button. From here you have a ton of options to adjust the display for the rift. At the very top is your settings page. Click the right arrow of the top selection. Look at the new menus bottom two selections. They adjust the split view you are seeing. Simply click the arrows to calibrate or click the bottom selection and use arrow keys to unify the view. TA DA!!!! You can Now play SKYRIM.. YOUR WELCOME WORLD!!!
Yeah I had an issue with my mouse going crazy too lol the best thing to do for Skyrim is map all buttons to kb+m, then change vorpx to not handle pads. It should just think your using kb+m at that point and you should be good to go.
In some games youll be better off mapping you’re pad to kb+m and using it that way. There are 3 that I use and all have good and bad things, xpadder, joy 2 key, x360ce. Its a bit of a pain but once you get it down its not so bad. The good thing is Skyrim is actually real easy to map out to kb+m on a pad.
Hi all,
I have been trying to get my XBOX360 wired USB gamepad to work with Skyrim. I have no problems with the visuals; everything looks great. I ready through the information here in the forums and determined that I must allow VorpX to handle my gamepad mapping and so I pressed DELETE while in game and switched to the gamepad mapping page and mapped everything according to the default configuration of Skyrim.
Unfortunately even after doing this and saving the settings the B button refuses to stay set as I have remapped and saved several times, until after great frustration I surrender and quit VorpX.
It seems that B button is by default mapped to TAB and this does many odd things under VorpX, such as, it bring up a steam chat client sometimes and other times it works as expected. The LT and RT buttons will not stay mapped as attack left / right like left click / right click. If I press DELETE again to check that my mapping is setup correctly everything is as I left it but it’s a lie, nothing works correctly.
Then, to top it off, when I become exasperated by this BS and exit the game to regain my composure, my mouse auto-selects everything in the browser window (text) or all files in the explorer window as if I am holding down shift with the first element preselected and unable to deselect making it impossible to select only one item (unless I really only want the first item). I exit VorpX and nothing changes until I restart my operating system.
I do hope that this can be corrected as the Oculus is useless if I have to keep peeking to find buttons on my keyboard to use it, and besides that I have a gamepad so that I don’t have to memorize keyboard layouts for gaming. This is a dealbreaker and I cannot conscientiously recommend this product to anyone if I hate using it due to this basic flaw.

if it is helpful, here are my system specs:
AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.51 GHz
16 GB RAM
Windows 8.1 64-bit
NVIDIA Geforce GTX Titan Black
Oculus Rift DK2
XBOX360 USB (wired)
VorpX 0.8.1.0 beta
Thanks for the suggestion, but I’ve tried every launcher Skyrim has, and it only loads VorpX with the correct settings if I don’t boot through Mod Organizer and SKSE. I really don’t want to erase everything and start over. But I might have to.
I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Skyrim Script Extender (or SKSE). Even with every mod and patch disabled, booting Skyrim through SKSE results in a distorted image in the DK2. It would be a real shame to play Skyrim without Mod Organizer.
Ok. I guess it was more on my part. If I made my primary monitor the rift and started metro 2033 in the rift then it would display. But I thought a update on vorpx fixed that so starting a game would just make it go direct into the rift. It does that for fallout new vegas and skyrim, so I thought something was wrong with the game. I guess I just have to mess with the settings now because the image is just way too zoomed in to feel right. Even when I max out the FOV then it looks like I and everyone else are the size of the hulk.
The left and right edges of the game’s screen appear squeezed together in my Rift, and I’m about 95 percent sure that it’s because I installed the ENBSeries mod to boost the graphics. I say this because VorpX refused to boot the game until I removed the d3d9.dll file from the Skyrim directory that ENB’s directions had me place there. Now the game boots, but with the vertical edges squeezed together.
Before I do a clean install, does anyone know if there’s a simpler fix?
Also, is there a list somewhere of mods that are and aren’t VR friendly?
I am thinking to buy Tamriel Unlimited if it works fine with DK2.
I read that is compatible with vorpx in dx9.
Anybody is playing it here in this way?
What do you think? Looks it fine? Seems native as HL2?
I will buy it if it works as good as skyrim and is reasonabily fast and candy eye….
Shouldn’t need to rename anything? That might be why its not hooking. You cant have any ENBs or things like that. mods are fine just not ENB and things like that. I booted Fallout 3 a few months back and it was good then. I usually play New Vegas modded to the max right now but they both should hook no problem. Fallout and Skyrim are really good with vorpX. You can tune them in so good it’s pretty cool. Try a fresh install if taking out the ENB doesnt help it hook. Then you can add all your mods back after you make sure the vanilla game launches(it should).
