Hi i did not say enb boost doesnt work with vorpx and i used myself the injector enb version. But as for the latest enb there is no injector vesion because boris has not managed to get the 64 bit version run for skyrim se. For old rim the enb boost is not needed relating to my own experience, after upgrading to the win 10 fall update and deleting enb boost from may old skyrim my old skyrim runs perfekt with tons of mods that used to crash even with boris enb boost.
And yes there is a 64 bit enb boost usable for skyrim se but no need for it just a waste …
you guys are talking about old skyrim….. i guess.
I nodded the special edition as well, but unfortunately there are too many essential mods that don’t work with SSE, like no camera sway, and first person kill cam.
You don’t have to care about the refresh rate normally. Whenever possible vorpX disables any vsync and then provides its own frame timing, 45fps with FluidSync enabled and 90fps with FluidSync disabled.
To be extra sure that works as intended you can force disable VSync in your graphics driver, but usually that should not be required.
Any idea when vorpx 18.0 is getting released? I’m excited. I saw you mention it somewhere on the forum and am also hoping the Win MR support is included… :) The trackpad is crap and I want to use the thumbstick to move. Plus looking at Vive wands to see controls while holding a Win MR controller is confusing. BTW…It seems to me that the Win MR works better than Oculus FPS wise playing Skyrim. Seems very stable and smooth.
For Skyrim the custom resolutions set in the graphics driver have no relevance at all for vorpX. It’s one of the games where resolution and aspect ratio are set freely in the best possible way. The resolutions above are for games where that can’t be done.
you guys are talking about old skyrim….. i guess.
Since the win 10 fall creators update the vram allocation fix is part of the operation system so there is no need anymore for the memory fix (enbboost)of boris.
I have installed 300 mods with MO2 , and the game runs stable …
NMM on the other hand is causing ctd frequently but that is because NMM doesnt use a virtual file system and changes the data directory of syrim , whereas MO use a own data directory .U are better off with MO in any case and avoid reinstallation of skyrim if something breaks ..
And atleast Vorpx and MO 2 work flawlessly together.
Any resolutions for 5:4 for use in Skyrim?
hi depends on your vorpx settings. The MO ini s wont be overwritten in any case though, but if vorpx autosettings are enabled they will overwrite skyrim settings .
I don’t know if my Vive is using VorpX’s ini settings, or Mod Organizer’s ini settings. Do I have to copy the skyrimprefs.ini and Skyrim.ini settings from Documents/MyGames/SkyrimSE and paste them into my Mod Organizer ini settings? Or does BorpX override it?
I have lenovo explorer, so most of the games crushin with vorpx after 5-10 min playing. Dont buy it. This is shit software.
Already have it my friend. I bought it for Oculus Rift and I also am getting Lenovo. I would still like an answer to my question though. Anyone know what refresh rate to set for custom resolutions?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Why is it so important? gta 5 gets 45 fps on gtx 1080 with resolution 2880*2160 and it looks pretty amazing for me, but I cant reach the same quality and fps when changing vorpx options autores. far cry 3 just the same( I want try it even more but nvidia custom resolution don’t let it)
But, the more resolution I make the faster vorpx is stuck. Games crashes, (exept alien isolation – it flowing nice) If I change resolution down, games playing stable longer but not much. Sometimes game unfreezes thru 2-3 min. I anticipate vive pro will have the same problem with more streaming requirements.Vorpx driver will stuck all the time.
Not really important. Just want to make sure I’m doing it the right way. I’m pretty burned out on playtesting different settings and would like to hear from Ralf the refresh rate to set to avoid hours wasted doing it the wrong way. I mostly use it for Skyrim and got it the best I can but havent tried to do it the way Ralf stated above. He just left out the Refresh Rate bit. Plus I only got a GTX970 so I really need to eliminate any unnecessary pixels and fps to squeeze out the best performance.
It’s not Skyrim vs. everything else, it’s older games vs. newer games. Skyrim SE for example also is blurrier than the original Skyrim at the same resolution. Most (almost all) newer games use shader based pseudo antialiasing instead of actual multisampling AA. All these pseudo-AA techniques blur the image, most of them quite heavily.
The only thing you can do about that is disabling post process AA effects like FXAA, TAA, SMAA, MLAA etc. if possible. If you can afford it performance wise, then raise the resolution to get rid of ‘jaggies’. The 1680p quality preset in the vorpX menu usually looks fairly well without any AA. For GTA V that’s probably too much though even for a GTX1080Ti.
@ralph i just wonder never got any game except skyrim having a sharp image when playing. Isit because of nvidas driver devolment to introduce more ways to tune the image. Skyrim is very limited when it comes to adjust screen effect like msaa, or what ever these fancy kind of screen tuning is named.
GTA 5 is the worst of all anyways….. I really miss reshade that was the only way to get a decent image ……
hi first need to check what resolution is actually applied. When vorpx starts th game it will notf u about the resolution set.
If u have vorpy atuomatic setting enabled you cant change a thing. I u want to change the re. than disable vorpx automatic setting save that in vorpx and close vorpx. Then lauch gta5 and manually change the settings in gta5 graphics options. Start vorpx and check if the new setting is actually applied.
If not try again.
:: The problem with gta5 is that the image always will look a bit blurry ,, there is no way get a satifactory result…. GTA is not menat to be played in oculs or vive….. Compared to skyrim all games look washed out or like low resolution,, too bad…
Hi,
I tried to search the forum but could not find issue for this.
The Witcher 3 in VorpX I crash for browsing around invetory for more than 1 min. I can see from Process Lasso how Witcher3.exe starts to eat up memory while I stay in inventory (I have 32GB, it crashes around 28GB).
– If I exit inventory. It will not crash but does not free memory, so if I stayed 30sek it resered 20GB it still keeps this and I can continue to play, if I re-enter inventory is same game instance then it starts to go up 20GB – 25GB etc and will crash. Reload game – reload save game and good to go again…
Easy to replicate. No need to do anything it just eats memory while stayin in inventory.
This problem does not happen if I disable VorpX and play normally. No problem here. This is clearly VorX issue.
My VorpX is in default settings (Configure VoprX -> Full Factory Reset).
Otherwise VorpX work perfectly with Batman, Fallout 4, Skyrim etc. No similar problems. Also other vice Witcher 3 works great, just have to avoid merchants etc.
Sorry if this has already been posted. Please redirect me to right thread if this is the case.
Thank you in advance for your support! And thank you for great product (VorpX)!
Best reagrards,
Aki
u need atleast to have a little knowledege how to use your computer. Actually nowadays everyone wants to have a programm that works by pressing one button.
As for voprx i dont know any better programm for playing in 3d. All games excluded the original oculus or other headset native one , like fallout 4 skyrim vr are only z-buffer like so just crap.
Gt used to the program hit some more butoons and enjoy vorpx games…LOL
TLDR: Having a “use a binocle” = “zoom in” = “decrease FOV” hotkey is super cool, why not implement it.
As OR/VIVE both have limited res, an option to “use a binocle” aka zoom an image in (decreasing FOV) is a must. To see what’s happening far away in details, you know.
I found a mod on Nexus that does literally this – decreases FOV by pressing a hotkey.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14963
It requires SKSE64 and works perfectly without VoprX.
But VorpX seems to force FOV back to default every time so this thing doesn’t work at all – the effect gets instatntly reverted.
However since I can imagine such a cool option, I can’t stop thinking about it.
Isn’t it a good idea – to add a “zoom in” hotkey?
