    Men of War (G3D)

Something different (and no, i havent given the game a dollhouse look on purpose).
This game behaves very different to anything ive seen so far concerning 3D strength, i am not quite shure if VorpX is responsible for that, but at a very certain zoom state (mousewheel) 3D strength makes a jump so the game (alomost, i have event that out a bit) looks like a dollhouse. If you dont like that effect, turn down 3D strength, but when zoomed in 3D strength will be relatively low.

Let me know how this game looks in your eyes.

    – Unusual 3D behave when zooming (in a positive way)
    – All together nice S3D
    – Terminate game manually after shotdown from taskmanager
    – Optimized for cinema modes
    – Profile available from the cloud

what happend is i put 2 mods back in to my clean gta file
menyoo, spawn sp cars.asi along with open iv asi’s etc.
the day before i’d updated windows 10 & nvidia’s latest driver,
all worked as normal when we were running 18.3.1.0.
went to test the mods was opening vorpx which auto updated to 18.3.2.0
got in game. menu was all over the place, extra judder, shrunk fov in car

the update seemed to of caused this.
i think maybe i messed up by resetting everything to default ?
in the end turning off partial over ride, disabling tracking prediction
dropping my shadow quality put everything back to normal.

all these updates & settings has been a learning curve having been less than a year since i switched from console to pc. would never go back now tho’

cheers for the help guys ! issues resolved.

NEVER use newer profiles with an older vorpX version. You can use older profiles with newer vorpX versions, backwards compatibility is usually ensured as far as possible, but the other way around in many cases will not work correctly. With the next release 19.1.0 for example new G3D profiles will contain various settings that older vorpX versions (obviously) do not even process.

Most new G3D profiles in 19.1.0 either won’t do anything or have severe issues in older vorpX versions since those lack the functionality that makes the new profiles possible.

BTW: If you are using a SteamVR headset, you have to update to the latest vorpX anyway, no way around that. Older vorpX versions do not work corrrectly with the latest SteamVR update.

    System:
    Windows 10
Older CPU, and RAM( 4 years i think) – would a newer CPU matter.
    GTX 1080

Not really, i’m on an i5-2400 and it’s enough to run everything i’d say, it gets to 3.4 GHz with turbo boost and minimum required is 3.5 GHz so i’m not that far off. I use a GTX Titan X.

Newer CPUs should be better (try to get a 4 core with high performance instead of many cores @ ~3) but equally important to the CPU is the motherboard. You can do a concurrent bandwidth test to check your PCIE bandwidth and speed, the faster and higher bandwidth the better. Check (only for Nvidia GPUs): https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/403560/cuda-programming-and-performance/concurrent-bandwidth-test/

You can look up data for the same gpus and compare with your mobo, that way you can make sure everything is working as intended and check where your bottle neck could be (if there is any).

RAM speed would make a difference, specially if you’re on DDR3, my bottle neck…

    Project Nomads (DGVoodoo2) – G3D

Some old (DX8!) games look so good in S3D. This Strategy/RPG is something different to the everage game looking really good in VR.

    DGVoodoo2 required
    – Use “force resolution” with DGVoodoo2
    – Very nice S3D in VR !
    – Full VR with Headtracking, use Edgepeek for cutscenes
    – Optimized HUD display in using cinema Modes
    – Profile availiable from the cloud

Note: VorpX’s DGVoodoo2 support is experimental, the use of DGVoodoo2 can break at any time

One more thing for when you check it out next week. There is a problem where you can’t text chat anymore with the T key.

It’s weird because everything else works all other keys. I tried remapping it but doesn’t help. It’s like the chat box just doesn’t exist anymore. So weird.

Just finished Mirrors Edge #1 again in preparation for Frostbite G3D (and thus ME Catalyst in real 3D!), with the new Motion Smoothing support it feels soo much better than before.

Only issue I encountered was that having DirectVR cache enabled caused FOV scan to fail but disabling it fixed it.

Okay I think I figured it out!

in the new vorpx version with the fluid sync is set to auto on the Pimax and WMR everything is choppy. When I turn it off everything is smooth again! Maybe because it seems to kick back to their respective reprojection tech I think and framerate shoots up to 90 also. (80 on pimax 8k)

Also the Pitool has to remain at 1.0 for pimax users.

Is there a way to make the Rocket league profile default to “fluid sync off” by default if it detects WMR and pimax users?

My rift is buried in closet but I imagine it might be a similar situation.

    Hope this helps.

PS: Also The default vorpx rocket league profile is really good actually, I would just recommend when you get time bumping the 3D from 1.0 to 2.0 as it gives the cars and scene more realistic depth (and I have heard that is about their approx size of those cars if they existed IRL ;) After turning in game camera fov to 110.

As said above, I’ll do some more Rocket League tests including WMR next week. With a Vive everything looks perfectly normal and smooth as always. Would be quite a surprise to see WMR behave any different, but who knows. Everything is possible, of course. It’s Sunday evening here though, so sorry for being able to do more testing immediately.

Just in case: double check whether SteamVR is up-to-date (should be 1.1.4).

You can change the max fps to 250 in the game options under video.

I just tested further. I reverted back to 18.3.1 to test (unplugged the internet so it wouldn’t update) I had made a backup of the folder and just pasted over the old version (ended vorpx driver task)

Here is what I have game fps 80 direct mode fps 60 and it’s reprojecting running very smooth on old vorpx 18.3.1.

Then plugged in internet and did the vorpx update again: 18.3.2.1 gets
game fps 40 direct mode fps reports 60 but it’s very choppy and not doing the smoothing async render stuff. I tried turning supersampling down to 20% and it still gets bad frames.

1080Ti here. Pimax 8k. I will test the rift and Vive next and odyssey+ next.

No measurable difference here in a brief test. 1080Ti, 1920×1200, high details.
45/90 with FluidSync, 62/90 without. Since the game’s frame rate is capped at 62fps exactly what one would expect. Without the cap (which is not vorpX related) it would probably run at 90/90.

I’ll do some more in-depth tests next week, but judging from the brief check nothing seems to have changed for Rocket League.

I just tried the newest vorpx updates and it’s completely killed the reprojection (steamvr or vorpx fluid sync, not sure what it was using before)

It used to be that I would join a match and the game would be choppy for about 5 seconds but then everything would iron out and be buttery smooth thanks to the fluid sync. Since the new update it’s just choppy all the time now!

I tried the vorpx advanced settings and turning the direct mode fluid sync on and off has no effect.

I feel this update has made things much worse than just leaving it how it was with the SteamVR motion smoothing. Keep in mind all of my SteamVR supersampling settings are set to default. It’s like the fluid sync is completely broken now.

I would recommend the dev download rocket league and try the previous version from 2 weeks ago and then compare smoothness to lack of reprojection on this version.

is motion smoothing still supported ? i ask this because i noticed with this update the option in relation with motion smoothing is gone (but i cant remember how it was called).

    Hello guys,

since i have nothing else to do, must sit in the house because of a recent loss of hearing (year, beleive it or not, you can break your hearing with simple desktop speakers squawking in the same frequency range for hours) , i thought ill fix some games for you. Please ask this game search form for your favored (older and NOT STEAM, EA, ect.) games, if you find one or more ill be pleased to look into them for christmas.

    Ho Ho Ho !
