Ive updated my personal profile list so someone can do a genre research an that, If i get enough feedback through the Engine List (i just dont know every game, please send a short message like “Witcher 2, 3rd Person, RPG ect. ) i will then create a genre research for the official profiles as well.

Nice! Even better. You could always go for Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3. All are great and on sale.

deal is a deal eh :)
already got ME trilogy and plan to revisit them with vorpx soon. I really like games with good level design like Witcher series or/and with a colorful palette like Remember Me and Sunset overdrive.

Yep, downloaded too, backlogging both for now, I’m still on Tomb Raider 2013, Rise of Tomb Raider, Witcher 2 and Remember Me. Feel free to recommend more of your favorite 3rd person games pls since many sites are on sale right now.
I got DAO Ultimate at GOG for 5 dollars.

<p class=”cye-lm-tag”>@ distant lol DA:O Ultimate edition is only 7.49 on steam. No pressure, but it is totally worth it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/47810/Dragon_Age_Origins__Ultimate_Edition/

    Awesome. Thanks dude.

Witcher 2 Geometry 3D was indeed broken. An updated profile that restores it is available from the cloud.

You can download cloud profiles in the config app.

Just checked Witcher 1, works fine here. Will look into Witcher 2, don’t have it installed currently, should definitely have G3D.

my bad, I tried W2 seeing it’s not engaged with 3D and assumed W1 would be the same.

Thanks Ralf, I was about to try this.

vorpX is currently the only way I enjoy my games now. Even Z-normal looks great for third person games. I’m currently still playing through Assasin’s Creed Odyssey and the new Tomb Raider as well. I agree, TR is excellent in 3D!

Already planning to revisit Witcher 3, and play Witcher 2 for the first time.

Two more I’ve been trying to hook lately but so far only crash: Metal Gear Solid 5 and Mafia 3. But I’ll keep trying :) .

If the default 3D effect is not strong enough for your taste, you can adjust it in the vorpX ingame menu (‘3D Strength/Scale’).

Be aware though that raising the 3D-Strength affects they perceived scale, raising it above the usually roughly realistic default will make the game look like a miniature scene. For comparison: a 3D strength of 5.0 (the max.) makes the game look as if you would be a giant with eyes 30cm apart in reality.

My first try after registering vorxp today was with The Witcher 2 and I was not impressed, even disappointed, I tried G3D to max strength (5) then Z3D but the game remained flat. Then I tried Rise of the tomb raider and boom, it worked, even with xbox game pad, I started to have hope that TW2 might still work yet, knowing that Rise of the tomb raider put out SBS making it easy for vorpx.

I want to thank Ralf for a fantastic app. As a long time 3d vision user I play games in stereoscopic only and your app enables another level of immersion for non vr games (if it works without in game SBS as in ROTTR.)

showing stereoscopic effect. I have 3D strength set to max (5) and still no stereo. I also tried the other 2 Z and adaptive Z setting, still the same flatness. I have a feeling it must be something ovbious that I did not do right but couldn’t figure out what. Anyone here knows what causes this and how to make G3D or any D engaged for this game ? Thanks.

Hey, Its my first time using VorpX. Can someone please give me a solid guide to how to set this up for Witcher 3 in 2018? I saw some steroscopic pictures of the Witcher world… I’d love to have something like that.

    Update 2018/12/15

vorpX 18.3.2.2 has been released. This (hopefully) concludes the series of fixes related to issues with the most recent SteamVR version.

    Changes/Fixes:

    • Improvements for WMR headsets related to issues with most recent SteamVR.
    • Fallout 76: FOV did not work since the game got official FOV change support.
    • OpenVR updated to 1.1.3b

    Update 2018/12/09

vorpX 18.3.2.1 has been released. This hotfix addresses the SteamVR head tracking swim/latency introduced with yesterday’s update. No other changes.

    Update 2018/12/08

vorpX 18.3.2 has been released. This is a maintenance release mainly addressing frequent frame judder in SteamVR mode after the latest SteamVR update.

In addition to that some related changes originally intended for vorpX 19.1.0 have been backported to 18.3.2, most notably support for Motion Smoothing (SteamVR), respectively Asynchronous Space Warp (Oculus). vorpX 19.1.0 is still on track for a pre-Christmas release.

    Changes/Fixes:

    • SteamVR: Fix for frequent judder below 90fps with recent SteamVR versions.
    • SteamVR/Oculus: Motion Smoothing/Asynchronous Space Warp support.
    • SteamVR: Supersampling <1.0 is now taken into account (only important for Pimax 5k/8k).
    • Oculus: Crystal Image setting takes user set super sampling into account.
    • D3D11: several multithreading fixes and improvements
    • The Witcher: better Geometry 3D profile, Z3D parameters tweaked
    • The Witcher 2: G3D did not work anymore, Z3D parameters tweaked
    • GTA V: scalable HUD added

    Update 2018/11/15

vorpX 18.3.1 has been released. This is a maintenance release that mainly adds support for Fallout 76. The profile is a fully featured DirectVR profile with everything DirectVR can do in the best case including automatic resolution, FOV (two methods) and basic roomscale.

Additionally minor issues with the program itself and other profiles have been fixed.

In case anyone wonders: the Frostbite engine G3D support that sparked a bit of interest recently is still in development and will be made available with the next larger update 19.1.0 before the end of the year.

    New profiles:

    • Fallout 76: G3D/Z3D, full VR, DirectVR: head tracking, resolution, FOV, tweaks

    Changes/Fixes

    • Effects that look bad in VR (e.g. DOF blur) can also be disabled with Z3D.
    • DirectVR scanner could time out with large scans in low memory situations.
    • DirectVR menu page didn’t behave correctly if both memory scan FOV and .ini edit FOV are available.
    • FOV scan was run despite .ini edit FOV being selected if both are available.
    • Fixed an occasional G3D crash in Fallout 76 (and maybe other DX11 games).
    • Arma III: DirectVR FOV was slightly too high.
    • The Witcher 3: some objects were rendered at wrong depth.
    • Crysis 3: reflections fixed, effect fixes.
    • Fallout 4: minor gun decals and fire glitches fixed.

    Update 2018/10/25

vorpX 18.3.0.1 has been released. This is a hotfix that addresses the issue below. No other changes.

    • Black textures with Z3D in some D3D11 games (18.3.0 regression)

    vorpX 18.3.0 released

After four maintenance releases for the 18.2 branch it’s finally time for a slightly bigger release with a bit of feature refinement and also more and enhanced game profiles. Most notable additions are: Dark Souls Remastered, Monster Hunter World, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

Experienced users can now create much better custom profiles by defining HUD/shadow etc. shaders.

Hi guys, I am brand new to vorpx. Have managed to play a few games which turned out pretty awesome! (Witcher 3).
But I have issue that I can’t find anything so far on the forum about.
When I put vorpx into admin mode using the config tool, it disconnects my rift when I try to launch a game that wants admin rights also. Oculus physically shows no HDMI connection to the rift. To fix this I have to remove vorpx from admin, restart the OVR service and manually unplug and replug the HDMI cable to the PC. I am putting vorpx into admin mode to try launch say Injustice2 (which with win10 UAC pops asking to be run).
Am I missing something? any help would be great!

……and it looks like my version of BioShock is BioShockHD :), so that explains that.

Witcher3 is crashing after I hit ‘Play’ now on the launcher (during the title screen). It has loaded a few times before so I must have borked something. I tried loading from steam, loading from the exe, not sure what I am doing wrong there.

Portal2 loads and has the DirectVR Scan option so excited about that! Only issue there has been flickering screen while playing so need to play with some setting to get that to stop.

Thanks again for the help and quick replies,
    Thump.
