So, “go into the Cyberpunk menus and make sure it’s set to Gamepad mode”?

Or is that “go into the Mod menu and make sure it’s set to Gamepad mode”?

Whichever, I’ll try that as soon as I get a chance, and report back.

Is the giant cinema screen to be expected then?

    Thanks!

    Hi all,

I’ve wanted to play Cyberpunk 2077 in VR since it came out, but had been put off by the need for using a mouse and keyboard (or controller) with Luke Ross’s mod. So when I found the Vorpx mod I was very excited.

I bought the game, I downloaded the mod, and (because it only seemed fair to support the developer) I finally got around to buying/installing VorpX too.

Sadly, the game had updated to 1.63, so the mod didn’t fully work – everything appears in VR but on a giant “cinema screen”.

I see from 2 other posts on this forum a note that we should be able to solve this by installing the latest ‘Cyber Engine Tweaks’ mod from Nexus. (Supposedly there should have been a “large window on the screen” telling me this, but for me at least, I could only see the top line or two of the message while all the rest was off the bottom of the screen. If others are seeing the same as me, it’s unsurprising that they got confused).

But… I installed it, and it’s still not working for me.

I’m using a Valve Index through SteamVR. I start SteamVR, pull up the desktop view, and run Cyberpunk from Steam. Close the desktop view, and Cyberpunk starts up.

I get into the ‘home room’ with the tutorial for motion controls and can try them all out.

I can click out of this to get to the loading screen. At this point, I need to hit space. Bit of a pain as my VR rig is downstairs and the PC it connects to is upstairs, but a bit of cardio later, and I’m into the game.

Then I’m talking to the guy at the bar. Everything is being displayed on the giant cinema screen rather than in proper VR. Is this expected? I still have to use keyboard controls to choose conversation options.

The VR mod *is* running cos I can squeeze the left-hand controller, then the right one, and get the VR setup menu up.

I can’t seem to move around though.

Am I doing something dumb here? Are my expectations wrong?

I’m happy to be told that I’m a fool and I haven’t read the instructions, as long as someone can point me to the instructions that I haven’t read!

Thanks in advance for any help people can give.

You don’t have to downgrade Cyberpunk. What you may have to do after a Cyberpunk update (and ideally also before!) is reading the 3m large, next to impossible to miss instructions panel in the launch environment, which among other important things explains how to update the CET modding framework if necessary. For your convenience the same instructions are additionally displayed as overlay in the game window (just as hard to miss).

Since yesterday the latest mod download contains the CET for 1.63 though, so until the next Cyberpunk update you can continue to ignore even unmissable extra large instructions that are shown directly in front of your eyes on each game start. ;)

I use Cyberpunk 2077 profile. With Metro Exodus profile, it seems only possible to launch the game if it’s set on DirectX 11.

Just bought Cyberpunk 2077 to try with the Vorpx Standalone mod. I do own Vorpx, but I’m using the Standalone. All seems ok visually, some ghosting, problem is I can’t move around with my Oculus touch controllers, I have a Rift S. I have applied the latest CET files. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any help would be much appreciated.

Once a CP2077 game is started/resumed, a double notice always appears on the left side of the screen stating:
    (1) “Game settings changed, a restart might be required ….etc”; and below that
    (2) “CP2077 is a full blown mod ….etc …. CTRL+ALT+SHIFT to close this message”

    I have two problems:
1st) CTRL+ALT+SHIFT does not close the message; and
2nd) ALT+F (FPS counter) doesnt work until the notice window is closed.

Eventually, the notice window disappears after 10 mins, but I want to activate the FPS counter when the game starts.

Is there any way to (either using control buttons or config/ini file edits):
    a) disable the message from appearing at the start or close it immediately
    b) make the FPS counter active when game starts, ideally set it to auto-start

    Thanks!

    Hi,

if I launch Metro Exodus with local profile and DX11, the game is in G3D, but I can’t get the menu with the shortcut I defined.

It works in DX12 with Cyberpunk 2077 profile without any 3D at all (can’t even get Z3D).

I would like to have the menu to set zoom value, etc.

Yes. In the meantime however you can easily make it work again yourself by updating the Cyber Engine Tweaks moddng framework.

For details please check the roughly 3m huge, virtually impossible to overlook blue instructions panel in the launch environment. That’s a highly useful read for other reasons too. It gets also displayed as an overlay in the game window so that you can even read it without having to put on the headset.

By default my controllers had button-mapping to keys on my keyboard – then Vorpx uses those keys as bindings for the controller.

However; it appears there is some gesture support for some games – just can’t get gestures to work for the Quest 2 so I figured it just wasn’t supported.

After spending hours trying to get Vorpx to do what native VR games do; I’ve discovered that you have to just tweak the games to your own liking – but games like Fallout 3 felt clunky to me in Vorpx, same with Cyberpunk so I think I’ll just stick with native VR games.

It is a neat piece of software, but I was expecting it to run non-VR titles like a VR game; it won’t feel as smooth – but if you take the time to tweak settings (graphics) it can look amazing just having a hard time with the lack of gesture control (I want to be able to aim my gun with my hand, not purely head-tracked – I got used to Fallout 4 VR and wanted to create a similar experience in Fallout 3).

Sorry for coming back to this thread so late, got side-tracked with various things RL. I was really hoping a dev would reply but it’s okay

Thanks for the reply and thanks for making this mod. One question please. I seem to be able to find tutorials on how to install cyber enginer tweaks but cant find any on how to update it?

the mod is based on the Cyber Engine Tweaks modding framework, which has to be updated after each Cyberpunk update. The huge blue instructions panel in the launch environment (also displayed as overlay in the game window) has details.

I’m trying to get started with the Cyberpunk VR mod after upgrading to a RTX 4080 and while I was able to install it, it doesn’t seem that the game wants to launch in VR. I’m not sure if it’s a Linux issue, or a 1.63 patch issue. I have tried launching the game both with and without Steam VR active in the background, and neither transition the game to the Valve Index / Steam VR display / headset.
