Shenmue 1 & 2 – Currently Z-Normal using Deus Ex D3D profile.
Looking for a G3D profile to use for this game, please help, made a post for discussion here:
https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/shenmue-d3d-profile/
I’m currently working on a profile for Shenmue 1&2. At first, a little intimidating because they used their own engine for the game. But then I realized that the Dreamcast (which both games were made for) ran Windows CE, I looked up the Direct 3D renderer for Windows CE. Its D3D 6.0, which, according to wikipedia:
(released in August, 1998) introduced numerous features to cover contemporary hardware (such as multitexture[14] and stencil buffers) as well as optimized geometry pipelines for x87, SSE and 3DNow! and optional texture management to simplify programming.
Awesome! Right? Geometry pipelines, which you can totally understand in games for the Dreamcast. Now, I tried to think what game from that period came out on the PC that used Direct 3d 6.0, and I thought Deus Ex should work. It does! Yay, but only Z-Normal. I stumbled around a little looking for a game from that period that has a profile for G3D, but I didn’t see one. Anyone have a suggestion for a game that uses D3D 6 and a profile for G3D? I’m uploading the Shenmue profile and we’ll update it if we get the G3D working. Ideas anyone?

Hello :)
I’ve been using vorpx with two games, Thief Gold and Deus Ex. Both work great except for some slight jitter with the head tracking. It’s very slight, and seems arbitrary. It’s a little hard to describe, but it seems to pick a random direction and just move the view point slightly in that direction over time. It’s easier to notice when I take the headset off and look at a menu. The mouse cursor tracks slowly across the screen.
I’ve played with the sensitivity settings, but the issue persits even at very low sensitivities. I’m a novice when it comes to vorpx settings, so any advice as to what else I could try would be greatly appreciated.
I can not get GTA V or Witcher 3 to “Hook” when using Vorpx.

I tried the above link but I all get is stuttering and ghosting without being able to access Vorpx Controls. I was able to get the steam game Deus Ex (The first one) to work.
I can’t seem to see if there is any setup. Do you need to add script hook for GTA V?
@bucklebean: please try deus ex with vorpx: i’ve had some problem for the g3d…there is a visual distorsion
Here is a handy mod that lets you increase FOV with hotkeys in game on the fly. Works pretty well. Separate adjustments for both world fov and hand/weapon fov.

<strong class=”d4pbbc-bold”>Important News for Windows7 user
I have managed to create a profile which provides G3D with DGvoodoo2 on Windows 7. There is a very good chance that this profile will work with many DX8 games, but unfortunatley i am not able to verfiy this on Windows 8/10 at the moment.
Before i properly upload and name any games to the cloud , <strong class=”d4pbbc-bold”>i need your assistance for Unreal 2..
Please download this profile and add it to VorpX. Then rename Unreal2.exe to Unreal22.exe and see if you get a clean G3D on Windows 8/10. Also check if you experience problems with HUD.
Beside Unreal2 i have tested Schizm 2 today with the same profile susccessfully.
can thief 2 or deus ex 1 run with this profile?
with standard thief 2\deus ex profiles, there are no g3d, or a bad g3d
excuse me, but deus ex mankind, now with the new vorpx, does it run good? anyone tried it ?
Deus Ex Mankind Divided no longer works. Causes the “Access Denied” error. Tried many times. AntiVirus off, re-saved game, reset profile.
I know this game isn’t at the top of the list for you, but thought I’d mention it. If I can’t get it working, I may have to roll back to last version, is there a way to do that?
mankind works now with vorpx?

Ahhh baloney! It does NOT work out of the box. It’s not even VR 3D, its 2D in cinema mode! My normal FONV works fine both standalone and through ModOrganizer. I’m using 17.3.2. I’ve tried every other profile in the cloud, and those don’t work either (not that there is a lot of them). As the original poster mentioned, the profiles are all binary files, so there is no “tweaking”, you make a change in the game, save it, exit, export it. The help is practicaly non-existant as far as documentation and what each setting might possibly do. The Skyrim game works (ish… lots of black flickering), Deus Ex HR works sort of, can’t adjust the vertical centering, just the horizontal. Dishonored has an inverted picture flickering in the upper left corner of the left eye (taking up 1/4 of the viewing area). Still haven’t been able to even launch Fallout 3 GOTY! It just sits in the task manager after vorpx “attaches” itself to it. I have a HTC Vive with Fallout 4 VR, and it works fine (Alienware system 16 gigs of ram with Radeon RX 580 and latest drivers). In other words, it’s not the system, it’s the software. I expected to have to tweak some settings, but they are not even close for FONV! The DirectVR mode doesn’t work either, in fact it makes things worse (in just about every game). So far I’m not impressed in the slightest.
