There is another link on the page that Ralf pointed to, to download the oculus software. You will need to install that on your desktop. If you want to play without your link cable, you will also need to install SteamVR, because Virtual Desktop does not work with the native Oculus client. Additionally, VD has a separate streaming component which you need to install (if you want to play unplugged).

I don’t have a Quest 2, I’m just repeating what others have said, so I may not be precisely correct on everything.

Ok so I’m confused on couple of things. I have an oculus quest 2, and bought battlefront 2 through origin. So I don’t have anything to do with steam or steam VR, and the vorpx software says select oculus or oculus quest, or the other option says steam VR etc., so why should I select the steam VR version and not what I have? Maybe I’m missing something?
Also, Ralf I’m not sure I understand what you mean either, which could be the trick. That oculus link software is to download to a mobile device through google play and android, as well as apple. I’m running windows 10 64 bit, so what is that oculus link software for? I have already downloaded that to my iPhone and use the app (signed up as developer). Am I supposed to download an oculus app to my windows desktop and run something from there?
    Thanks guys in advance !

Please make sure to enter the same mail address into the download form that you used to register vorpX originally. The system does not send links to unknown mail addresses.

Sometimes I move posts to a better fitting sub forum.

The only posts that are removed occasionally are download/key issues once the problem has been resolved. And spam of course. the latter happens mostly automatically based on some heuristics WordPress (Akismet) runs on each post. Despite the need to solve a captcha there are is still a substantial amount of spam accounts created on a regular basis unfortunately.

If a post you made disappears e.g. after editing it (apparently sometimes considered posting the same content multiple times by the spam detection), or because it has (too many) links or some other formatting tags the spam detection dislikes, shoot me a mail. I can restore false positive spam posts for about a week or so before they get deleted for good.

No problem. Unless I misunderstood your question, the pinned FAQ post on top of this sub-forum should have the answer:

I bought vorpX before but don’t have the web installer anymore.

Please request a new download link here.

    Hi!
I bought vorpx few month ago, tested it and delete after that. Right now I decide to install it, but download link expired. When I ask to resend me message with link from payment system, in new letter I recieve old expired link for download.
How I can request new download link? Thx.

If you didn’t keep the web installer, you can get a new one any time from the link below. Make sure to enter the same mail address into the form that you used to register vorpX originally, otherwise no link will be sent.

    MarvinTheDog,

I notice the same thing in Tomb Raider (2013). The shadows and water reflecting up on the character’s face doesn’t align correct, so it’s disconcerting to look at. So that’s why I turn my shadows off. But I would rather not do that.

If you have the time and/or inclination, can you talk about the reasoning behind the number changes you make in the “default.vrsettings” file found at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\resources\settings

    I see
    “ipd”: 0.063,
    “ipdOffset”: 0.0,

But I have no clue what changes are possible, and how and why you should make certain changes.

For instance, the ipd (interpupillary distance) for me is about 61 mm. I’m guessing that number (0.063) changes if I set the knob on my HTC Vive. I’m also guessing it should be 0.061 for 61mm?

But what is the ipdOffset? And how does changing this make it so the shadows don’t look weird compared to setting the hardware knob on the Vive?

Can you also link to the fov hack you downloaded and what to do with that?

    Thank you,
    Huy

I built myself a new PC with a fresh install of windows. Can I get a key refresh? Or a download link.

Having trouble getting the vorpX_websetup.exe to work, keep clicking on it and it doesn’t appear anything’s happening. I’ve removed my anti-virus, run it through a compatibility mode, administrator mode, redownloaded it to test that wasn’t the issue, basically anything I could think of and I’m a bit stumped. Is there something obvious I’m missing or is there just an issue with the version of the webinstaller I received? If so is it possible to request a new download link for that as it seems you need to already have obtained your key from this installer in order to complete the registration? (I’m assuming from the screenshot sent to me in the ‘thank you for your purchase mail’) I’ve emailed about this last night and provided proof of payment but wasn’t sure if this was a better place to get help with the issue?

    Hello,

A long time ago, i can run without problem Mass Effect 2 and 3 but today, Games are not hooking (games are launched via Origin)

    What i did :

    * Disable Origin during gameplay for the games (like i saw on another topic for someone having similar problem)
    * Download the zip file that Ralph shared for Windows 10 problem and install the 2 exe files into vorpx directory
    * tried to launch in windows mode the game
    * tried to launch vorpx in administrator

I am using a HTC Vive Cosmos. Not sure if it could be linked or not.

I tried perhaps 20 times to launch the game but vorpx could never hook it.
(principally mass effect 3, i just tried mass effect 2 to see if i have the same problem : it is the case)
(ps : i can launch the game without problem without vorpx)

    If someone has some ideas….

Seems i can’t post links to other sites, in any case every news about the expansion agree on the “at launch” comments made by the developer (i just searched Elite: Dangerous Odyssey VR and every news even had “at launch” on the title).

Every game officially supported has a profile the moment you install vorpX but there are many unofficially supported game profiles you can download from the cloud’s vorpX server, which the community created and uploaded to, and you can also create your own custom profiles for any game (as well as upload it into the cloud).
