ParticipantDid you download and install my profile from the cloud? It has SBS enabled. Default profiles do not generally offer SBS option, so you’ll need one specifically for Tomb Raider.
SBS toggle will be on the main page of delete key menu, instead of G3D/Z3D options.
I use the cinema screen instead of immersive screen.

KeymasterYou need to make a copy of a profile that has SBS input unlocked. The Rise of the Tomb Raider should work.
dellrifter (see the post above yours) apparently already did that, so check the cloud profiles first.

ParticipantI´ve tried the inmersive screen with sbs mode but it´s not working.
The game is on sbs mode but when I start vorpx the stereo option is working (supr key, image settings), but when I start the game in sbs I look for this option in vorpx menu and it doesn´t appear and I can´t “mix” both imagesAny idea??

ParticipantI’ve uploaded my first run profile for Shadow of the Tomb Raider for SBS G3D cinema. It’s configured for my Pimax4k with the following settings:
– set to dx11, use keyboard to navigate menus
– use a 4:3 resolution (1600×1200, 3200×2400)
– set “Side by Side” stereoscopic mode in game and use:
Separation: 4 arrow ticks right from 0
Popout: 7 arrow ticks right from 0
(these are my preferred for best 3D world pop, though scale is a bit low)* Some particle and fog effects may look slightly strange, disable “volumetric lighting” if desired.
* Since this was tuned for Pimax4k, Rift users may need to adjust screen distance a few notches for better FOV, and/or tone down the saturation/brightness/sharpness some.
————————————————————-While it looks quite good in SBS, it can be performance heavy and suffer from aliasing, as compared to running Z3D with Conan Exiles profile. Some may prefer to play it Z3D instead, and for this I might recommend the forthcoming official profile to allow both SBS and Z3D options if possible.
Many 3rd person games such as Assassins Creed can look quite good in Z3D, and I believe Tomb Raider might as well.
Anyhow, off to play now. Enjoy!

ParticipantEven though steam forums report problems with 3D vision SBS, I had luck hooking vorpX with RotTR profile, after switching to dx11 mode (default was dx12).
So far I only had time to test the benchmark, but stereo SBS was working. I’ll test further after work to make a profile.

ParticipantNot every game profile supports ALT+L.
For games with SBS output you could try the Avatar (SBS) profile from the cloud.Jul 18, 2018 at 12:00am #174294In reply to: Deus Ex Mankind Divided – bug

Participant..no need for any advenced technique. I have just managed to capture the steamvr headset monitor with OBS in stereo.
You must use game capture + capture specific window.
There choose the steam hadset monitor window.
Hotkey did not work yet, so press record before starting game.-open steamvr headset monitor window
-press record (do settings above)
-start game
-bring up heaset window again Full screen
-obs is recording now
-click once in your game window otherwise you wont be able to play
-press stop recording in OBS after shutting down gameoutput is SBS Video which you can playback for example with mpc-hc player
one thing i have not tested yet if video remeions SBS after editing with windows movie maler for example.
sample video following shortly.

ParticipantHello guys
@Xylos
did you find a way to record stereo with OBS and VorpX ?
That window that Ralf mentioned shows SBS, but would an external software record this as SBS and not as a single image ?…just an idea…, how about inventing something like a “stream to disk” option for vorpx so people dont need to experiment around with other software. I could imagine having big fun watching stereo movies taken from other users games. (May be that could boost the sales rate too through youtube for example)

Participantas i said before it is generally not a good idea to send the incorrect signal to an LCD monitor regardless of the reprecussions of the monitor, it is bad practice in any case.
but yes it will look correct on the HMD but it is like dual signalling to 2 different displays, you would run it in a window on the alternate monitor which has different Res/AR properies and run it full screen on the main one that your using, imagine two monitors, one 4:3 1024×768, one 16:19 1920×1080, if you have software that ran the game on both monitors at 4:3 and the user looked at the 4:3 display, the 16:9 display would just have it in a window, you would not constantly feed the 16:9 1920×1080 display with a full screen forced 4:3 image that would be stretched, in general you would do this.
also keep in mind this is how almost EVERY game runs on steamVR, Oculus Home & fan Mods, I’m very sure VorpX used to be like that as well, it has a windowsed SBS view like quake II fan mod, VorpX is the odd one out, its bad pracitce to do this, it just so happens that it’s not a major issues in most peoples cases but it is still incorrect to do this, but if VorpX used to show windows SBS view, can’t it easily do it again?
May 15, 2018 at 3:18pm #172868OculusRiftRocks
ParticipantI did read it but as i said i was an early adopter of your software and if i can remember vorpx didn’t mrror the monitor back then, or if it did it was in SBS windowed view i think,I can’t recall.
I run VorpX games in a window now, vorpX works fine that way, what i am saying is the standard of rendering games in VR seems to be incorect for VorpX as almost every official app runs in a window or minimised because in genenral your not supposed to feed a low resolution/different AR feed into a higher resolution different AR monitor regardless of whether there is a minor or massive issue on the monitors end.
so I am hoping thinking as
- nice to have
faeture to be added in over 1+ year if its easy to do, I did see option to mirror image in direct mode, maybe that will do that, but an optin like that would be good, or just an overal standard option in control panel, ‘for windowed gaming’ so you dont feed all these moniors with incorrect resolutions/ARs, some other problems may happen down the line.

InactiveRJK_, I use the official vorpx profile for this game. It has no 3D option as for other games, but there is an option to use SBS format.
Baktus, you are probably using the default official profile. The picture looks gorgeous, but I don’t think there is any 3D. Try the SBS option (first enable SBS in the game menu), see if you find any difference.
