    Made a profile for 3rd person RPG Insomnia: The Ark. Profile is purely based off official Vorpx HellBlade profile. G3d works but Zadaptive and Znormal do not appear to add any depth; so you can play it ‘pancake’ but on a big screen, or if your computer can handle it, G3d does seem to work fine, there were some flickering issues with Shadows on high settings with G3d, but I found turning the Shadows down to low eliminated most of that graphical issue.

    For the record – I think this is a FANTASTIC game. Its one of the only games I ever purchased in early access cause i was so intrigued and put like 25 hours into it to decide I wanted to wait for it to be ‘finished’; they had originally built it in another engine and so it wasnt compatible with vorpx at all (atleast i couldnt find a way for it to hook); but they updated it to Unreal 4 and it seems like the Hellblade profile will get us good G3d, but like i said, Znormal and Zadaptive, I saw no difference between them and 3d just being set to ‘off’. So if youre computer can handle G3d for the game, only issue I saw was shadows having some odd effects like weve seen in other games, I found turning shadows low helped alleviate that.

    Its a really cool game tho, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you wanted a really solid 3rd person RPG with some unique mechanics and a really good, unique environment, I really recommend it.

    Good luck getting it running, if my profile on the cloud doesnt work for you, just load the HellBlade profile from Vorpx and use that for the game, it hooked right in with G3D, no problem. Just doesnt appear to have any change for Zadaptive and Znormal compared to pancake.

    ok thanks I was not sure how to deal with headsets that has higher resolutions. If each one needed its own manual input.

    same thing with unreal engine I don’t get how it knows what resolution to use for the headset. After 40 years of staring at a screens from CRTs to now, is that i always had to tell the program to match my monitor. Possibly VR is allot more complex than that. Being that, steam Vr, mixed reality portal, vorpex, the game, windows in general all play some kind of role in getting the signal to the headset it is quite complex.

    are you accepting donations? you have gone above and beyond always would like to compensate people for extra time and work on things..

    hey steph do you have a link for that unreal engine unlocker I have tried to hook with the above mentioned profiles added the exe to vorpx but it doesnt hook for some reason. also Are you currently playing kakarot on G3D or Z3d ?

    did you try my cloud profile ?
    i play in Z3D because else my fps sucks, but G3D works but it’s heavy on fps specially if you want to run every graphics to max and with ini tweaks.

    did you try alternative hooking method ?

    https://framedsc.github.io/GeneralGuides/universal_ue4_consoleunlocker.htm this tool you only use it once the game has fully loaded inside the game world.

    did you add AT-Win64-Shipping.exe to the profile you tried to use ?

    hehe np, that’s the magic of vorpx, it’s not hard at all to create custom profiles as long as you can build a new profile based on a official profile, typically, unreal engine 4 games are very easy to make working profile with minimum effort ^^

    that’s why i’m very optimistic for upcoming UE4 games, like the upcoming tales of :D

    for kakarot, if you dont use the tool (unreal engine unlocker) you’re in for troubles tho, i didnt find a way to set a custom fov except if using this tool & everytime you’ll switch zone you’ll have to set your custom fov again, but it takes 2 sec using console command (when in console command mode, up key then enter key to execute latest command you used) you’ll know what i mean when you’ll be playing the game, but so far i’ve been having a blast with kakarot using vorpx ^^ about 30 hours in, only on namek lol, about to fight freezer.

    hello,

    profile in cloud.

    it’s an unreal engine 4 game.

    you can set your custom fov in gameusersettings.ini file located @ Users\username\AppData\Local\Towers\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

    the profile works with both g3D/z3D thought for performance reason you better be playing with Z3D enabled.

    tweak the profile at your liking ^^

    enjoy !

    i’ll upload mine tomorrow ok.

    my updated engine.ini final tweaks if you’re interested, copy paste this after everything else.

    [SystemSettings]
    r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
    r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0
    r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
    r.MaxAnisotropy=16
    r.ViewDistanceScale=4
    foliage.LODDistanceScale=10
    grass.DensityScale=1.0
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-2
    r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.01
    r.LensFlareQuality=0
    r.DefaultFeature.LensFlare=0
    r.ShadowQuality=3
    r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=16
    r.Shadow.DistanceScale=2
    r.Shadow.MaxResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.01
    r.Shadow.TexelsPerPixel=10
    r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=3.0
    r.MipMapLODBias=-2
    r.Shadow.CSMDepthBias=5

    if you use the tool i talked about, unreal engine unlocker you can tweak those settings to your liking, basically when using that tool you can unlock console and play with settings, including fov.

    i play with fov 110 for this game and i like it that way, be warned that if you play with default fov my profile at the settings i use will look crap because fov will be way too low.

    so i tweaked some settings and now the games looks gorgeous and almost clipping free :D

    i play in Z3D for performance reason, it looks great !

    look for engine.ini in users/username/appdata/local/AT/saved/config/windowsnoeditor and copy/paste this after everything already in there and make the file read only

    [SystemSettings]
    r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
    r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0
    r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
    r.MaxAnisotropy=16
    r.ViewDistanceScale=3
    foliage.LODDistanceScale=10
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-2
    r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.1
    r.LensFlareQuality=0
    r.DefaultFeature.LensFlare=0
    r.ShadowQuality=1
    r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=3
    r.Shadow.DistanceScale=2
    r.Shadow.MaxResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.01
    r.Shadow.TexelsPerPixel=8
    r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=3.0

    [/script/engine.renderersettings]
    r.ShadowQuality=1
    r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=3
    r.Shadow.DistanceScale=2
    r.Shadow.MaxResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.01
    r.Shadow.TexelsPerPixel=8
    r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=3.0

    and for fov, read my post above.

    but encyclopedia get “FoV’d” as well meaning you wont be able to read it cause it will be too small, and FoV reset everytime you switch zones, it’s easy to fix tho and when you want to read encyclopedia just put back fov like something 60, it’s very easy to do so with universal unreal engine unlocker tool.

    so g3D works great with conarium, conan exile, life is strange 2, abzu well all UE4 profiles i tried worked fine.

    and for FoV you can use universal unreal engine unlocker 2.0.5, i had to rebind console keybind to $ for it to work but i use azerty keyboard.

    headtracking works if you hold either left or right mouse button, for gamepad i dont know how to make it work.

    i will do further tests tomorrow :D

    Hi Ralf,
    thanks for the quick reply. I uploaded a picture from a demo scene in the most recent version of Unreal-Editor (https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-2259ca-1578737244.jpg.html)
    The problem shows up in the backfacing rims of the text (right side), in this case its black. I used the unmodified Conarium-profile (G3D, 3d strength 5). Since i use this configuration every day i am pretty shure its a new phenomenon since the last update.

    For fans of the pirate themed sandbox ATLAS I’ve got a tweak that helps a LOT in getting a working VorpX profile. This information might also be relevant for ARK: Survival Evolved, and perhaps other Unreal4 engine games though I have not tested this myself.

    As you might be aware, horizontal FOV is god for achieving good VR rendering, and ATLAS like a lot of game doesn’t let you scale it up far enough.

    However, there’s a tweak to get around that:

    1. Go into …/ATLAS/Engine/Config/BaseEngine.ini and open it in a suitable text editor like Notepad++
    2. Search for the line: AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainXFOV
    3. Change it to read: AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV
    4. Save the file.

    Having switched around the FOV constraints, you now have a MUCH larger FOV to play with. I’ve managed to get a pretty comfortable and immersive Full VR mode running with no significant complaints or side effects.

    Disclaimer: I have no idea if this might be problematic with BattleEye if you try play on hack protected servers. I’ve been playing the game in single player.

    i dont have mk komplete to test this but it looks like it is, like you said, an unreal 3 game.

    borderlands 2 looks like it was some sort of unreal/opengl thing – im not going to pretend to understand how all that works, BUT, heres something you could try

    http://rjkole.com/gamestuff/engines/

    Borderlands 2 (G3D) [Official DirectVR Support] Unreal 3 OpenGL – this might be your problem, the opengl part.

    That lists games + engines that have SOME DEGREE of vorpx support. this is an unofficial list, no guarantees any of them would work, but you may want to go thru that list and try importing profiles for unreal engine 3 ONLY games.

    for instance :
    DmC: Devil May Cry (G3D) Unreal 3
    Betrayer (G3D) Unreal 3
    Alice Madness Returns (G3D) Unreal 3
    Alien Breed 3: Descent (G3D) Unreal 3
    Alien Rage: Unlimited (G3D) Unreal 3
    Antichamber (G3D) Unreal 3

    try those and others labeled solely as unreal 3 and you MIGHT have a chance.. i just cant say 4 sure, sorry… good luck though

    Since they dropped VR support for MechWarrior 5, I tried with VorpX and it does hook to the game, but there is no 3D whatsoever. Any hints? The game runs on the Unreal Engine 4.

    Hello there, i tried to use vorpx to get the game “SCUM” to work with vorpx. This game uses Unreal Engine 4. As this game is not on the list with working games i tried copying ABZu, as i saw that is an Unreal Engine 4 game aswell. Tried it using the SCUM_Launcher.exe and the SCUM.exe file, both in normal mode (who receives an error: can not inject) and on alternative hooking method, which says: takes long to inject. Does somebody have an idea how to get this game working? Because it has a first person view and a FOV slider which should make configurations easy. Greetings
