Hi Ralf.. I worked it out.
in ARMA3 I simply hit the “fn” key + back space
this took me from a single view to duel (V.R view) & I can see the VorpX beta symbol between the two lenses when I’m not wearing the Oculus Rift.
Arma3 runs great in V.R !!! Wow
I realize this is still in Beta .. but hey if any v.R enthusiasts want an awesome game try ARMA3. I am yet to tweak the VorpX settings but so far all is great… I have my MacBook Pro running Oculus Rift in BootCamp mode Win.7 64 bit. I have modded my Rift so now all power to the Rift s via USB cable.. this means my XBox controller & mouse are running from a USB hub.
This works well for me.
Can’t wait to test SkyRim..
note: I had a hard time setting this up as I’ going all this onboard a sailboat !! I ahve agenrerator humming away on the upper deck so I’m limited to how long I can play for.. but I cam up & running… I bet I must be the first person to use an Oculus Rift aboard a yacht… in the middle of a river.. I have to paddle my little dingy 1 km up a river to reach my Oculus Rift …
Agreed – would be nice (for any input type) to disable up/down optionaly: with eg Oblivion it is irritating to have this movement both with rift and the mouse. Makes it also harder to aim anything with a bow or a spell.
Would be better to have only left/right with mouse (or xbox360 controller, …) for movement, and looking up/down only with the rift.
Or is it already possible and I missed it?
Besides: thanks to Ralf for this driver (I know developers get mostly feedback for the bad things, not the good things …) – keep on with the good work!
I know this is way out there, but is there any way to disable the right analog stick up and down functions on the Xbox 360 controller? Every one using the Rift uses the controller for ease of use and almost all of the games support it. Disabling the controller from allowing you to look up and down and only allowing the head tracking to would be huge bonus for immersion and control. I have no clue how windows controls joysticks but if you can add this as a feature to VorpX it would give you a huge advantage over the competition, thanks for the consideration Ralph!
No you didn’t. That’s a new bug that must have been introduced shortly before release. Will be fixed.
Thanks for this quick response!
Ok, setting the vorpX option “handle gamepad internally” and disabling the controller in the ingame menu brings headtracking to run. Thank you!
Up to now I was not able to map the right keys to the gamepad. I´m not able to change any key bindings in vorpX´s gamepad menu. I tried to klick the respective buttons and pressed the associated button at the gamepad but nothing seems to happen. Have I overlooked something?
That’s a restriction of Bethesda games: they disable mouse input when a gamepad is used.
vorpX can work around this though: set “Handle Gamepads Internally” to On to activate an internal gamepad to mouse/keyboard mapper (which should have been the default value). Then exit and restart Fallout 3. Afterwards you should be able play Fallout 3 with a gamepad and head tracking.
The gamepad mapper can be freely configured in vorpX’s gamepad menu.
I´m trying to play Fallout3 with vorpX and a XBOX360 Controller. Fallout 3 supports this controller natively.
When the controller is activated, headtracking does not work anymore.
Is there a possibility to play Fallout3 with a XBOX360 controller and vorpX?
I would appreciate any kind of tip!
Thanks in advance,
danke,

@ Steve : That is already possible. Just checkout the controller mapping mapping page in the in-game menu, you can then map the middle-mouse button to any gamepad button, inkl SHIFT/ALT Modifiers (XBox 360 Pad needed). I usually use the Thumbstick buttons for EdgePeek/VR-Hotkeys . That might even be pre-configured.
Make sure that “Handle Gamepads internally” is ON for this to work
Oh yes I knew there was a question I wanted to ask about this! I remember you saying that the middle mouse button was used for this – will it be possible to use an xbox 360 controller for playing in VorpX as well as mouse and keyboard? Are there enough buttons to include it’s various features? Thanks!
