I do own a copy of VorpX but attempted to play Cyberpunk 2077 using this mod, since from a web search this seemed like the way VorpX was supporting this particular game.

The mod failed spectacularly, as posted above. The suggested solution was to try standard settings, which I had already done.

If I’m going to try my copy of VorpX instead, where should I look for advice on this? Should I start by uninstalling and reinstalling the game without the mod? I don’t need gestures or anything flashy. I’m happy just using my wired Xbox controller.

I agree, just upgraded my PC from an rtx 2070 and 2700x CPU to rtx 4070 Ti and 7800x3d and the metro exodus with G3D and DirectVR is amazing, ultra all the way.
I can’t get the Xbox one controller to work for opening doors/boxes it just flashes between X and E on the long press, the E short press works fine, but think this is a longstanding problem with Metro Exodus. I also need to find a way to get r mapped onto the controller as getting the gun pump accessed in a hurry via the keyboard is a pain. Also turning the map over without having to use the mouse key would be nice.

I tried the enhanced edition (I copied the MetroExodus file in steam folder and renamed it MetroExodus1 and made a shortcut to it on the desktop) first as my son will play flat screen and loves Ray Tracing. He uses it on Minecraft which he also loves.
The 3d effect is severely lacking in the enhanced version and the standard version knocks it out of the park.
I loved the first 2 games in Vorpx and now my PC can handle this one I think it is my favourite game of the series.
Thanks for all your hard work Ralf.

I usually play vorpX games with mouse and keyboard, or xbox controller, but on the off chance you’re using VR controllers and SteamVR, you can use Steam’s bindings to create snap turning.

I’m using vorpX with Fallout 76 in Full VR mode. For the most part it is working great. The only problem I am having is when looking at the map. The map is too zoomed in. With the middle mouse button I am able to zoom out, but I am using a controller. Pressing the middle mouse button, and using the controller one handed is a bit of a challenge. Is there any way I can remap the middle button feature (I think it’s called Edgepeek) to my Xbox controller? That way I am able to use the map during VR game play.

    You’re welcome :)

My Apologies Senan, I was a bit foggy in the head when I wrote that (long night before lol).

I completely forgot to mention that I also use an app that converts my PS4 controller into a Xbox360 controller which has the ability to map keyboard keys to my controller (arguably the most important part =| SMH).
Anywho, I personally use reWASD which is NOT free, however I’m pretty sure there are free alternatives out there (x360ce as an example).

So basically you could map keyboard keys to perhaps your LB and RB and achieve it this way.
The only caveat here is that you would lose whichever gamepad buttons you mapped.
This is why I use a PS4 controller as I essentially gain 5 extra buttons on the touch/click pad.

You can both disable and/or bind to other keys if you wish via the Vorpx Config app.
Pop open the Config app and navigate to the “In-Game Key Bindings”, there you can configure it how you want it ;)

I ran into the same problem a few times, so my solution with every game I play using Vorpx is to disable the “Vorpx” thumbstick presses in the “Del” menu.
I use a PS4 controller and map both Vorpx Menu and Edgepeek to my PS4 touchpad corners.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I’m not seeing an option for binding the actual gamepad buttons to anything (unless I’m missing something?); only keyboard shortcuts. Since I’m using an XBOX one controller, I don’t have anything extra to use with something like xpadder/joy2key. That’s why it’d be nice if we could use something like a compound button press for Vorpx.

I am trying to play Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and the issue is that vorpX does not map the d-pad (UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT) buttons on the controller to the actual dedicated arrow keys on the keyboard, but rather to the numpad directional keys. In the vorpX controller mapping, the d-pad is listed as UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT, however when these are pressed KOTOR registers it as 8,2,4,6 respectively. It doesn’t matter if num-lock is enabled or not, KOTOR requires the character codes for the dedicated keys (38,40,37,39), not the numpad key values (104,98,100,102).

There is no way to bind these numpad keys to directional keys in KOTOR, it must use the dedicated arrow keys. I tried to modify the game .ini file and there is no option. I have even gone so far as to remap the numpad keys to the dedicated arrow keys using Windows PowerTools Keyboard Manager, however this also does not work. I have tried this with the Oculus controllers as well as an Xbox One controller, to no avail.

This functionality is important in KOTOR because it is the only way to navigate menu items without using the joystick to move the mouse cursor which is very slow and error-prone as an input method. I would imagine that this functionality is also important for many other games for similar reasons.

What is needed is a way to set the controller mapping to use the dedicated arrow key keycodes, instead of the numpad arrow key keycodes. Perhaps a toggle to use one vs the other?

Please let me know if this fix/feature would be possible and if I can provide any other information about this problem. I would be very grateful for your assistance if so. Thank you.

Hi. I’m wondering if there’s a way to engage head-tracking to emulate the ‘look around’ right analog stick on an XBox One controller in PCSX2, specifically while in first-person mode in Kingdom Hearts II.

When you begin the game, you can switch to a first-person view by pressing the ‘view’ button, and move around with the left analog, and look around with the right analog. I’m just wondering if there’s a way to just move your head to look around rather than have to use the right analog stick to do it.

    Thanks in advance!

I appreciate the work done with vorpx and have had an amazing experience due to it.

However I was wondering is there a way to:

    1)
    add in more motion controls?

    E.G crouching = c button being pressed.(or b button on Xbox controller)
A quick solution I’ve thought of is when player is like 50% lower in height from when scan is done it’ll result in crouching/ prone

If this is possible it could easily be added to many games..

Is there also a way to set up the triggers of a controller with motion controls?
K&m work fine for aiming down scope but no triggers for controller in the config but every other button??

Also a potential reload for pistol and rifles?

riffle = Hold both controllers to aim down sight… while aiming down sight flicking the primary controller (closet controller to chest) emulates r button on k&M or x button on Xbox controller

Pistol = secondary controller sidle of primary
(Like how you unload a pistol mag) emulating r button on k&M or x on Xbox controller

Swinging motions – like sword fighting, this would be great for games like dead island or assassins creed 😩 I pray one day there be a full vr mod for assassins creed games

    2) auto fov scan, whenever the scene changes vorpx to rescan player and set fov… or at least an option for people to enable /disable it

    Hey everyone,

So, I feel like a TOTAL IDIOT. I have had some Vorpx games I wanted to go back and play, such as Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, or older Deus Ex games, Thief series, etc… That dont support controllers.

I did try Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines like 4 years ago, but ran into a problem during the “Hacking” sequences and navigating in a computer in the game; along with some abilities just not being available from a lack of buttons.

Now, I think I have found a fix for this problem; and its been staring me in the damn face for years.

    The Xbox ChatPad.

Its a small keyboard that plugs into the bottom of your Xbox controller, and features a full keyboard, along with numbers 1-9 and 0, like a regular keyboard.

For instance, in Vampire the Masquerade, I would need to press specific buttons to access hacking and other things, which resulted in me having to take off my headset, find the button on my keyboard, then proceed… In the end, it became too much of a Slog to actually do it long term and I quit.

Now, I think we have a fix. You can map your controller in Steam as you like for the game, get movement, some main attacks and camera controls onto your Controller, then add this piece of hardware in to give you access to all the shortcuts youd have with a regular keyboard, but actually attached to our Controllers.

Here is a guide on it – I have no lept in to buy it yet, doing some more research on it; but these might be a boon for other players who, like me, prefer Vorpx VR with a controller; but have been held back by the keyboard shortcuts not being available to us.

Im probably going to get this, this seems like way way too good of a solution that I have known about for years and never put two and two together. It also may help any of you just playing normal games without controller support, put basic movements, camera control on your controller; then use the Xbox Chatpad to access more shortcuts based upon the game’s actual Keyboard controls.

Here is the guide, Im going to be looking into this some more. Just wanted to point it out.

    Take care, all

Having a major issue with the UI and lag. Nothing is responsive. Can’t get motion controllers to respond at all. Xbox controller too.

I worked all yesterday to make Elden Ring work hook with vorpX. Ralph is my hero, the new Beta 23.0.1 manages to hook perfectly after renaming eldenring.exe to start_protected_game.exe. Extra props to dj1212 and MGSnake19 for their great cloud profiles. Steam loads my steam controller profile so does that mean that avoiding EAC breaks my steam controller? I would appreciate any work arounds because my God I am loving the 3D on this, but I have 100hrs into this with a steam controller so its hard to go back.

You can try using x360ce (https://www.x360ce.com/) software to emulate xbox controller from your steam controller

Yes, that worked! I didn’t realize that the start/menu buttons on the gamepad are better contenders. And if i want to switch between motion controllers to gamepad every other game session, it’s seems to be best practice to either use the controllers, or just leave them off and only turn on the gamepad. VorpX does adapt to the current config. And one of the advantages of WMR is that it can be used with an xBox controller. :)

The only thing that i still need to figure out is that at low stick deviations (= slow camera), the camera starts to feel jerky (“ruckeln”). It seems that the data is not interpolated at very slow speeds. Hmm, maybe i could try to raise the DPI of my mouse driver, and lower the sensitivity in game… Not sure if it will make a difference.

BTW, when i tried starting TW3 without switching-on the WMR controllers – the xBox controller worked, but the right stick (camera) did not. I made sure to disable all software that could interfere (reWASD and STEAM were *not* running).

In essence i want to play TW3 in vorpX with xBox controller, so that i have the analog movement and some other advantages over the WMR controllers. That’s the reason i’m trying to solve this issue.

When i tried to use my xBox controller in The Witcher 3 (v1.31), vorpX said something along the lines “gamepad detected, please disable the motion controllers in vorpX menu to avoid conflicts”. I understand that hint, but for the life of me i can’t find a setting where i can disable the motion controllers and enable the gamepad. There are many settings related to controls, but none seems to apply to disabling the motion controllers…

What is the name of this setting, so i can look specifically?
