@ slonaker.j : No, no time to check individual games right now, sorry. Can’t think of any change in vorpX that could possibly have caused this, but who knows. There was another report of this on Reddit earlier (assuming that wasn’t you), so this will be looked into before the next update.

Thanks for the reply. Does this mean I am waiting for 0.9.1 to come out for eso?

Provided it’s indeed an issue caused by vorpX, and not something caused by your individual setup (or ESO), yes.

I’m having some issues with my DK1 setup and 0.9.0, the images are crossed eyed like the left screen is showing what the right screen should and vice versa this is happening in both Dirt 3 and in VorpX Desktop Viewer, I’ve tried recalibrating my IPD profile, even deleted the profile entirely and created a new one, I’ve tried selecting Do not use an oculus profile in VorpX and manually inputting my IPD, I’ve tried altering settings in game as well, not sure what’s going on, just removed 3dvision driver just incase that was interferring, it made no difference.

Really sad to hear regarding BattleEye. Arma 3 is my dream VR game, I’m sure you know the feeling. Battleye is pathetic… really sucks that Arma depends on it.

I’ve sent through an email requesting the installer, waiting keenly! Very excited to try things out, BE or no.

    Hello!
After updating to vorpX 0.9.0. It doent launch. “vorpX VR Driver Control” has stop working.
Restoring system doent help. Driver verson becomes 0.8.1.0, but error “vorpX VR Driver Control” has stop working still appears. Hovewer it runs but now doesn’t work wth GTA5.
Updatng by using web installer doesn’t help
Updating video card driver doesn’t help
    I use runtime 0.5.0.1
Please, help. How to make it work, or at least get back stable version 0.8.1.0?

For the most part I think the new update is great, edge peak is sooo smooth now, but I have one niggle.

I keep getting an occasional camera jerk in all games, the overall performance seems spot on, but the jerkiness is really grating on me. In the previous version of VORPX I had GTA running perfect, it is almost the same in the new version but I get this odd jerk as if everything is playing catch up for a brief moment every now and then. I can handle it in Skyrim, which was a slide show in some areas in pervious versions and runs much better now, but the issue if very annoying in games previous to the update worked great and now don’t.

Is there anyway to run two versions of VORPX? I think I prefer the older one for GTAV..

Oh, Skyrim? Any chance you could help me with the common issues I raised earlier in this thread (with link to the support thread)?

Wheen I try to run vorX (runtime 0.5.0.1), appears error
    “Oculus runtime init failed.
Please check whether you have the Oculus runtime installed”
Can vorpX 0.9.0 work with runtime 0.5.0.1?
Don’t know what to do. Someebody knows how to reeturn ver.0.8.1.0?

    @Phil

    Sure, here’s what I do.

Turn off all of VORPX’s game pad features and change the settings in Skyrim to disable the game pad. Make a note of the games default keybindings. Download and install ‘xpadder’, you should be able to find the older free version on the Web. Open it and map the default key bindings to the pad buttons, configure the right stick as a virtual mouse. I map right on the dpad to be a walk / run toggle. The only disadvantage is that you loose the nice analogue movement on the left stick.

Regarding your resolution problems. Open the Skyrim launcher go to options and set the resolution to 1080×1920, 16:9, letterbox. Select the ‘low’ graphic preset. Exit the launcher then boot Skyrim without Vorpx to confirm that 1080p is working. If it is, start Vorpx and restart Skyrim.

    If it isn’t goto

C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Skyrim ) with notepad and change the iSize W= and iSize H= values to:

    iSize W=1920
    iSize H=1080

    Save and close, restart Skyrim.

Edit (edit broken on the forum)….

    the second paragraph should read:

Regarding your resolution problems. Open the Skyrim launcher go to options and set the resolution to 1920×1080, 16:9: Widescreen.

Sadly, the free Xpadder doesn’t work on Windows 8.1, and although it’s not very expensive, I’ve gone way beyond my expenses for this month.

On the thread I opened, it’s been advised I should try with Joy2Key, which I happen to have. So I’ll try that solution.

Anyway, I thought it would be simpler to use Vorpx’s emulation, but it seems I was wrong. Again.

As for the resolution, I’ll have to try mingling with the config file, because Skyrim refuses Vorpx’s auto settings. It might have worked in extended mode, but with OR’s 0.7/0.8, it doesn’t.

But thanks a lot for the help! :)

Joy2key will do the same as Xpadder. Not sure what the VORPX auto configuration is… I always set it manually in the game I’m playing.

@ Cylon : Occasional jerkiness: check your framerate with [ALT][F]. There are two values now. Game FPS and Direct Mode FPS. The Direct Mode FPS have to stay at 75fps at all times or you get judder. Game FPS should at least be half the headset refresh rate (~40 fps for the DK2), better 60, and ideally 75, of course.

The easiest way to achieve this is obviously lowering graphics settings, but you can also lower the game resolution now, as vorpX doesn’t have to run at the headset resolution anymore. You can even choose 4:3 resolutions now, which can help in some cases as less stuff is drawn that is thrown away later. And if you wish, you can even experiment with custom square resolutions which can be created in the nVidia control panel.

Another new and particularly easy way to optimize direct mode performance in demanding games is syncing the game framerate to exactly half the headset refresh rate. This can be done on the display page of the ingame menu, setting is called Direct Mode Framerate Sync.
