Modder confirmed you can revert any time.

Uninstalling is safe and easy because it’s mainly manual modifications (you just have to reverse steps). You can simply backup your old files to switch more easily (you unzip one archive or another and you install/uninstall mod).

You can also always backup your savegames and repair/resinstall games, but it won’t be necessary with this mod.

It may be harder to use with an RTX4080 (I think an RTX5090 wouldn’t be useless), but you don’t have to use ultra version, and you can also switch to Z3D when you are outside if G3D is too demanding. Ralf’s Z-adaptive is good in this game. And of couse you can lower the resolution (use ClarityFX / sharpness / texture enhancement).

This mod is especially useful in VR because in VorpX you can see every detail at very long distance (at least in a displayport headset) so draw distance has a huge impact.

The mod worked for me (ultra version). I only tried the beginning of the game.

People says it start happening randomly after something like 30 minutes with medium and high version.
It may be a memory leak problem, and it may depends on your hardware. Maybe it would never happen at all if your hardware is powerful enough.

It seems you can fix it just by changing graphics settings (or restarting the game).

Anyway, the main problem is : it’s very demanding in VR ! But it’s impressive.

It seems to be config files editing and only affect graphics so there is probably no danger to install/remove/replace/edit it during playthrouh.

    @paramo :
In VR you can use ClarityFX (VorpX Ingame Menu Page 2) to upscale (and sharpness filter if needed) and you can also use any resolution you want with Virtual Monitor (Launch VorpX Desktop Viewer with VorpX V24 then the game). But you may need a good graphic card.
What is your VR headset ? It may be easier to use a 4:3 resolution like 3840×2880 or more.
If you play on Quest 3 or Reverb G2, it’s a good ratio anyway.

I tried VorpX V24 with Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 a few weeks ago and I didn’t notice major problem with shadows (maybe G3D wasn’t as perfect as old DX9 games but it was very clean with every shader).

G3D and Z3D (which is good too) were very similar.

I only tried the beginning of the game.

Did you try G3D Shadow parameter on “Auto” ?

Did you try the Unreal Engine 5 profile ?

I don’t see why you could not use VorpX.
You may have a FOV limit (105) with Avowed but it should be Ok (depending on the VR headset). I played Frontier Of Pandora with 105 FOV on Reverb G2 and it was amazing (I would have prefered 110, I don’t know why FOV are limited in these games but it’s a shame).

How would one use your custom profile?

    – Install VorpX V24.1
    – launch VorpX Config
    – Login in “Cloud Profile” tab
    – Search “Kingd”
And you’ll see the profile just after the official one for Kingdom Come Deliverance 1.
    – Select it.
    – Read profile instructions (about FOV edit, etc.)
    – Click “Import Profile”.

Rename KCD2 executable to KingdomCome2.exe (or whatever you want, but it’s the default assigned name when you import).

Launch VorpX, then launch the game.

Of course, you may prefer to launch VorpX Desktop Viewer instead of VorpX (it will allow you to use any desired resolution).

Usually, you should use a very high 4:3 resolution on most VR headsets, like 3840×2880 or 2880×2160 (or more if you can). Don’t forget to adjust the FOV. In the first game, it was possible to change it permanently with .cfg files (112 is usually a good value).

You can adjust zoom level in VorpX ingame menu page 1.

You can use ClarityFX and sharpness to get a clearer/sharper image in VorpX ingame menu page 2 (and adjust gamma, etc.)

You can also adjust headtracking speed.

Even if you use Immersive Screen instead of full VR (clearer at lower resolution and useful when the camera is partially locked), it’s still useful to raise FOV, resolution, and curvature (with vertical option).

I don’t know if there is another game with CryEngine DX12.

There probably will be a profile someday.

You can try other DX12 games : Cyberpunk 2077, Frontier Of Pandora / Resident Evil Village, Atomic Heart, etc. but it’s not CryEngine.

Kingdom come 2 has exactly the same exe file as kingdom come 1.

    That is usually bad…

You could try to rename the executable.
If you have a Steam version, I already used this with VorpX and it worked :

Did you try to hook a game (with an official profile if possible) ? With what resolution ? With ClarityFX on Medium/High ?
There is a sharpness setting. It works very well on Reverb G2 but I don’t know if it’s good on Quest 3 with compression.

There may be a compatible profile, but you may have to try a lot of them ;)

Did you try to use the first game profile ? In Z3D only, because I think Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is in DX12. If you could run the game in DX11, it would probably be easier.

This game works surprisingly well with VorpX !

It’s not as demanding as I thought : i was able to play in 5120×3840 Z3D with my RTX4090 (not needed at all).

I can easily play in full VR G3D 3200p.

Z3D is good, and G3D seems more or less perfect (all effects seems to work).

This mod seems to work well with VorpX :
    https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/1538

It improve graphics a lot (by increasing draw distance).

But it lowers the framerate, so try without it the first time.

I think an RTX 4060 isn’t a very good graphic card to use PC VR with a Quest 3.

Especially if you use a laptop version, which usually are a lot less powerful.

You may not be able to apply my advices. Try lower values (of SS, Bitrate and resolution) first…

You can check Quest 3 image quality with another PC VR program (like SteamVR’s DeoVR with a detailed 4k regular photo/vidéo, not 180/360°, for example ? Or photogrammetry in SteamVR’s Home)

You could also use a more optimized VR headset. But it’s still a laptop with an RTX4060… I had good results with VorpX, a desktop with GTX1080 and a Reverb G2. I was able to play games like Death Stranding, Bioshock Infinite, Bioshock 1, Elden Ring, Guadians of the Galaxy, etc.

It will never reach the image quality of 4k displayport headset* (can’t edit)

Of course supersampling is demanding, so a displayport headset is more optimized.

Usually, VorpX is known to display an exceptional image quality, compared to similar programs (UEVR, Luke Ross, Virtual Desktop, etc.)

It’s especially true on a displayport VR headset, because it has no compression, but it’s still better than something else on Quest 3.

Things that easily improve sharpness and clarity :
    – raise resolution
    – use ClarityFX, sharpness and texture enhancement (VorpX ingame menu page 2)
    – in full VR, you can unzoom if needed.

Usually, I would recommand 2880p (3840×2880) to 3840p (5120×3840) on a displayport headset, but 2160p (2880×2160 in the case of a Quest 3) is already Ok to use Full VR mode with an acceptable image quality.

In Immersive Screen and Cinema display modes , you should use at least 1440 vertical resolution (1080p is already good with some games if you don’t zoom).

    —–

You can also upgrade Quest 3 PC VR image quality. I will never reach a 4k displayport headset, but you can :
    – activate supersampling in Oculus (up to x1.7 resolution I think)
    – use Oculus Debug Tool and set bitrate to 900 (and other options I don’t remember)

    Of course use a cable…

There is an option in Windows to select the audio output. When you use a VR Headset, this headset is usually one of the choice you can make.
