Haven’t tried those two games, sorry. Are you sure Vorpx is running, do you see the vorpx icon on the windows bar? You can create a shortcut from the Vorpx menu to make it work better. I hear that the are issues with Origin overlay, so try to turn it off for B4. Finally, since this has happened to me a few times, check that bloq num isn’t blocking your DEL button.
moarveerParticipantThe middle button is used for edge peek, it allows you to see the full screen of the game while moving your head, very useful to check the HUD in game, and when you click it back you are again in the normal game view. Still edge peek may look a bit weird, so perhaps you were using only that view.
I suggest you try Bioshock 1, it has a profile in config options so it’s very easy to setup, it looks fantastic and performance is really good. Also Dear Esther works great for me, really good sense of presence, great performance.
As always use 1080p and max the fov in the game config if available. 3d FOV in vorpx settings works great but don’t max it since it creates graphic issues. That and 3d strength are the main things I tweak to get a good sense of immersion and scale.
moarveerParticipantNope, afaik you have to set it up every time you play.
moarveerParticipantOne little detail though, when you look up it somehow fixes the view and you lose free look, I don’t think it’s vorpx fault, just that the game works like that.
moarveerParticipantOk so after trying it, the game looks great to me once you set up the fov to maximum. However it has the ugly habit of resetting the FOV constantly, so even though you may have changed it at the beginning, it goes back to minimum when you’re in-game. Remember to hit the middle button to go back to the game. Other than that, the game looks perfect as is, I tweaked a bit the 3d effect but not that much.
Also any kind of AA kills the performance.
The big problem for me is that if you keep walking forward, when you’re about to cross a door that gets you in a room with another two doors, the game freezes. I’ve tried twice, same result.
moarveerParticipantI have the game so I’ll check it out and see if I can config it decently
moarveerParticipantUnderstood thanks, good to know
moarveerParticipantYour best option for a WW2 game working with Vorpx is Call of Duty World at War, although I don’t know if it will have 3d at all.
moarveerParticipantWish I knew that there was a Bioshock 1 entry before, it really took me a lot of time to get it working, but right now it’s damn perfect. The key for me was tweaking the ini to increase the FOV to 120, I can imagine that the profile will do that automatically.
moarveerParticipantDoes it have any kind of 3d?
moarveerParticipantForgot to mention: huge thanks for your work with Vorpx and excellent support, demos are cool but these games are what will keep my DK2 being used daily thanks to Vorpx.
moarveerParticipantYou were right, resolution was wrong with both Stanley Parable and Dear Esther, once changed they looked fine on the DK2. Haven’t tried SP ingame, but Dear Esther looks amazing, great job.
Gone Home looked really bad imho, maybe inside the house it looks better i don’t know, I couldn’t open the door on the first few minutes and left it there.
I will try zbuffer on Aliens during the day, though geometry looks fantastic and check it out, thanks for the suggestion.
moarveerParticipantSo gtx 980 should be then answer then :P
moarveerParticipantGlad if finally worked, keep them coming!
moarveerParticipantDid you try setting the IPD manually as recommended?
