ParticipantI’ve never used Vive wands as controllers, how do you set all the keys to work, there’re not that many buttons on the wand.

ParticipantI absolutely love it, I’m 5 hours in and I think it’s the best game I’ve played in VR, and one of the best ever. I’m in VR for immersion, and HL Alyx delivers in spades, every single environment looks incredible, it’s amazingly sharp and beautiful, there’re tons of amazing set pieces, clever dialogues and interesting puzzles. It really feels like a Half Life game through and through.
The game interface feels weird at first, and reloading is a bit difficult, but later on it become’s really natural and satisfying, there’s a great sense of achievement when you’re in the middle of the fight and you manage to make a fast reload and kill the enemies.
Same thing with the gravity gauntlets and some of the more questionable interface decissions like jumping and so on. After a few hours, they become really natural. The only thing is that it switches HL shooter mechanics to survival horror, it’s slow paced, heavy on resource management instead of a fast paced shooter, so if someone was expecting frantic action, they are going to be dissapointed.

ParticipantI hope it works for you. One more tip, if you hit left alt you will start slow walking, which feels way more natural in VR that the normal walk speed.

ParticipantI have a 1080ti with 12gb so I used:
PoolSize=12000
TexturePoolSizeReductionMB=1500
LowPCTexturePoolSizeMB=3000I even tried incresing the resolution a bit more to 3413×1920 DSR resolution, it looks incredibly sharp and full speed at ultra and geometry 3d.

ParticipantBy the way this game had me fooled at first with z3d, then you notice the halos and deformations here and there, but it really does a fantastic job, it’ll probably be the first game I play in z3d since I can really push the config really high and still it gives a solid 3d effect, and looks mindblowing at near 3k res and some config tweaks.

ParticipantYeah that fixed it, I installed some performance mods and the game looks amazing and VR and performs quite well, huge thanks Ralf for fixes like this.

ParticipantI tried it, also lowering the FOV to the mininum (50), nothing seemed to work too well, it was like my character was a giant. Also I didn’t touch a thing on the Vorpx config, clean KCD install, booted with Vorpx, Alt+L for DirectVR = Hobbiton. Either it’s something related to Pimax 8K or I can’t say, but i tried the games a few months ago and it was perfect just with DirectVR.

ParticipantIt’s vulkan so no 3d.

ParticipantNo problem, I won’t be requesting anything from profile creators, never did before so it won’t be too hard :p

ParticipantMmmm… What? The only thing I’ve said to dellrifter22 is “that’s some fantastic news” and “Huge thanks Dellrifter22”, nothing else. I haven’t done any kind of request to him of any kind, nor I’ve never done any kind of request to any other user that I can remember. I’ve always referred specifically to you about an official profile for HMCC. I understand that you want to protect profile creators from external pressure, but I don’t think that saying thanks puts pressure of any kind on him. In any case don’t worry, I’ll avoid being grateful to anyone posting profile posts in the future.

ParticipantHuge thanks Dellrifter22! And Ralf, I’m ready to beg for DirectVR support, so pls pls I’m crossing fingers for this.

ParticipantA vorpx masterpiece, I played the original version, it’s the kind of experience that truly sells how amazing Vorpx is, it feels like a 99% full VR game. I recommend using the walk mode, it feels more natural in VR.
moarveer
ParticipantI was wondering, Ralf are you going to make an official profile for HALO MCC? I think few things will get more Vorpx sales than being able to play Halo in VR
moarveer
ParticipantThat’s some fantastic news!
moarveer
ParticipantYeah we all miss it, it was the holy Bible of vorpx compatibility, I’m surprised that after such a huge amount of work he would just let it die.
