Would like an answer to this as well.

pintmanParticipantWhat about monitors only allowing you to set the custom resolutions to 60hz as this is, in mine and many others, the highest refresh rate the monitor is able to display? Does it make a difference?
pintmanParticipantAlso are you Rob Fay from Coventry?
Aug 12, 2019 at 12:10am in reply to: bad performance in rocket league with rift S (compared to index) #186652pintmanParticipantI notice you’re capped at 60fps, half of your native refresh. I am capped at 40fps, half of my native 80hz.
pintmanParticipantDo you need any other mods with half life2? I seen that there was a mod from ages ago taht allowed you to hold the weapons like a proper VR game.
pintmanParticipantHi Ralf,
Thank you for replying.
I of course understand that running normal games in VR will be more demanding. I still feel that the performance I was getting in both those games, which seemed to be capped at 40, was less than it ought to have been given my rig.
I appreciate your fluid sync tips and will try them later and report back. I will also disabel nvidia’s FPS monitor as I always have that turned on.
pintmanParticipantHow is MAfia 2 like to play in VR? Does it have a first person mode?
pintmanParticipantHi,
Two questions, should us RIFT S users be adding the custom resolution of 1280 x 1440, the Rift S per eye resolution? It’s not on your list.
2nd question, I can only get nvidia control panel to allow me to set 60hz despite my Rift being 80hz. If I try to set 80hz, it completely black screens and I need to reset my PC altogether.
Please advise.
pintmanParticipantOkay so I bought an app called Glassify off Play store for your phone that quite cleverly measures your IPD distance using the reference point of the black strip of a credit card (must be worldwide standardised). Came up 61.
Are VR headsets supposed to be a bit blurry towards the ends of the lenses? Like if I move my eyes without moving my head to read something on my periphery, it’s blurry.
pintmanParticipantI only just bought the Rift S yesterday, my first VR experience.
I rang my optician to get my last IPD reading, 61 apparently, but she told me that that was specific to the particular set of glasses I was buying… anyone know if that is right? Seems wrong…
Regardless, I’ve messed around with the IPD scaler in Oculus settings and I really don’t notice a difference when I move it around… what should I be looking for with this?

I’ve just been playing around with the free stuff that is on the Oculus store and Steam as it’s very quick to setup – some is very impressive!
Anyway, I would love to get this setup now. All the youtube videos for GTA IV VR that I can find are 6 years old. The game has been patched a few times since with the latest patch breaking the script hook that most mods rely on as far as I’m aware.
Could you guys running the first person mod please explain to me how you’ve achieved that? Downgrading?
Many thanks!

Me and my friends played this game for the entire summer after it came out, endless police chases and stealing helicopters.
Thankfully I also have a 1080 and a Ryzen. The game runs really well for me in 4K on my TV, I play it occasionally but I would absolutely love to experience the story again in VR. It would be a dream for me.
I know it is a bit of work, but if you could write up what you have done or link to the guides you yourself have followed, I would be forever in your debt.
I think I’m going to take the plunge for a VR headset this weekend. Someone is selling an oculus rift locally for £200, failing that I will buy a new oculus in town I think.

It is quite strange, I have been considering buying an Oculus Rift for £200 off gumtree this past few days and I decided to hop on this forum to see how good the software supports different games etc.
GTA IV is my favourite game of ALL TIME.
Could you please keep in touch with me, I would be interested in getting this game working over all others, I just love the worldscape R* created with their version of NYC in this game.
I have tried to mod this game in the past (ENBs etc) but gave up because of the weird conditions you need to do like downgrading your game (and even then there are disputes as to which version to use etc). Did you have to downgrade?
