Please don’t get too excited yet. It’s great to finally know how to get a foot in the door, but nothing is done until it’s done. There may still be technical or other hurdles.

That sounds promising. I wonder why they didn’t get back to me… No promises (obviously), but I will surely do that.

I removed their reply from your post since parts of it probably aren’t meant for the general public.

Your order is marked as “Awaiting Payment” in the database of our payment service MyCommerce. If you paid with anything else than PayPal or credit card, it may take a while until MyCommerce receives the money. They will get back to you as soon as it arrives in their account.

If you dont receive a message from MyCommerce within the next 3-4 business days, please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a purchase with that mail address in the database of our e-commerce provider MyCommerce who are handling the sales process.

Please verify in your PayPal account whether you actually have been charged. In the unlikely case that you indeed have been charged, please send your PayPal receipt to support |at| vorpx com. I will then forward the issue to MyCommerce.

Exactly. The vorpX desktop viewer has similar performance and limitations as these.

You should rarely need the vorpX desktop viewer for games though. It can be a useful workaround if a game can’t be hooked for one or the other reason, but the majority of DX9-11/OpenGL games can be hooked directly with vorpX, providing the advantages mentioned above.

vorpX can run unsupported games in 2D either through its included desktop viewer app or (better) by hooking them directly if the game in question is based on DX9-DX11 or OpenGL.

The latter method has several advantages over using a desktop capture app and provides basically most of what vorpX can do minus stereo 3D. Most importantly that means support for fullscreen games and the lowest possible performance hit. Also mouse based head tracking and other input related functions (e.g. VR controller support) are still available this way.

The game uses Easy Anti Cheat, which prevents vorpX (and other tools) from hooking. Theoretically the EAC makers could whitelist vorpX, apparently they do that for a handful of widely used overlays, but so far any attempt to contact them was met with silence.

Might make sense for you as users to take action. The more people reach out to them (and/or Ubisoft), the more likely they are to at least react somehow eventually. You can contact them via their support page: https://www.easy.ac/support/.

You could try one of the video player profiles (MPC-HC, VLC) or the Rise of the Tomb Raider profile as a base for a new one. All three support side-by-side stereo input, which is configurable on the image page of the vorpX menu.

To do that make a copy of one the above profiles in the config app (Local Profiles page) and assign the main .exe of your emulator to the newly created profile.

No guarantee that it will work, but worth a shot.

@ sterlingfm: The most likely cause for hooking issues is a conflict with some other program on your PC that also hooks into games. First and foremost virus scanners, but also: any sort of GPU/CPU utility, game recording/streaming software, messengers and generally everything that can show notifications in games.

Best way to trouble shoot this is to disable all programs running in the background.

If you uses any other AV software than Windows Defender, please also try to uninstall it for testing purposes. Some particularly invasive AV programs (e.g. BitDefender) make it difficult to fully disable them, so uninstalling is the easiest way to make sure they really don’t get in the way.

You can choose a preferred resolution quality ranging from 1080p to 1680p on the DirectVR page of the vorpX menu. To get the most out of this feature also check the “Custom Resolutions” section of the vorpX help. It explains how to add resolutions to your PC that it normally cannot display.

BTW: Please help keeping the forum in a usable state for yourself and others by posting in the appropriate sub-forum. Thanks! All your posts so far would fit better in the “Technical Support” sub-forum.

@ dellrifter: interesting find. I’ll take a look at that. Thanks for the heads-up-

@ lipplog: Please make sure the “Don’t optimize game settings” in the config app is UNCHECKED. You should then be able to select a preferred quality on the DIrectVR page of the vorpX ingame menu. Apart from that please thoroughly re-read my replies above, especially everything about “1-2-3 Game Setup”, “Custom Resolutions” and “Immersive Screen Mode”.

    DirectVR

DirectVR is a collection of several techniques that provide VR compatibility for ‘normal’ games with as little need for user interaction as possible. Direct VR can for example optimize game settings, choose an optimized resolution, adjust the camera FOV or provide perfect low latency head tracking. At least one Direct VR feature is available for currently more than 150 games.

Not all DirectVR feature are available for all games though. For Gone Home for example DirectVR adjusts various game settings and the resolution – provided you didn’t disable that functionality.

Windows 10 should already come with 4.6.2, but in case it is somehow corrupt on your machine, you can find the installer here:

Nothing out of the ordinary to recommend in regard to resolutions. As always 4:3 resolutions are better than widescreen in Full VR mode. Apart from that the procedure described in the “1-2-3 Setup Guide” of the vorpX help is a good way to get games without DirectVR FOV working quickly.

Even easier in such cases is switching the “Play Style” option to the recently introduced “Immersive Screen Mode” as recommended above.

For Gone Home the DirectVR settings optimizer can also utilize custom resolutions IIRC. Check the “Custom Resolutions” section in the help for details on that.

Just in case: if you can’t add the custom resolutions in the nVidia control panel or have any other resolution related issue, please first and foremost make sure to use a regular monitor, not a TV. nVidia blocks custom resolutions on some (most?) TVs.

If your vorpX install is somewhat older, it also makes sense to reset the profile database from time to time to utilize potentially improved default profile settings that might get changed with newer versions. You can reset the profile database in the config app (trouble shooting page).

You have to start the game without BattleEye. BattleEye prevents other programs (like vorpX) from hooking into games.
