RalfKeymasterThe wheel is blocked intentionally in Oblivion since during normal gameplay it switches between first and third person, which messes up the FOV. The block is there to protect against that. No wheel scrolling in menus is the lesser evil in this case.
The rotation scan has to be done every time since the memory location for the camera rotation is different for each launch.
FOV: IIRC there is a mod that can change it more permanently than vorpX can.
Not sure about your controls glitch, sorry. Never encountered something like that.
You can enforce AA in your graphics driver control panel instead of using the ingame AA. That’s actually better for Oblivion anyway since it allows you to use AA and HDR rendering together, which isn’t possible with the ingame AA.
RalfKeymasterNone of these is broken, so nothing to fix.
IIRC there is no automatic FOV for Gone Home or Slenderman and as far as I’m aware no way to change it, you will either have to use Image Zoom to compensate or play in Immersive Screen Mode.
Not sure what your issue is with Black Mesa might be. Like all Source 2 engine games it has full DirectVR scanning support. FOV and both rotational and positional tracking are covered.
RalfKeymasterThe message about running the DirectVR scan (press ALT+L after entering the game world) that appears in the headset a few seconds after launching the game.
Once that scan is done successfully the FOV is perfectly right. Just make sure to enter the actual game before running the memory scan, it does not work while you are in the menu.
RalfKeymasterMake sure to follow the instructions that appear when you start the game and run the DirectVR scan after entering the actual game world (ALT+L or from the vorpX menu).
After a successful scan the FOV is perfectly adjusted for your headset and there is no need to do anything manually.
RalfKeymasterUnfortunately the game had to be taken off the supported games list about two years ago when they switched to BattleEye anti-cheat. BattleEye prevents vorpX from hooking into the game. A real shame, was really fun to play in VR before that.
RalfKeymasterGeometry 3D with the recent Firewatch patch is working now. Make sure to update vorpX to the latest release 18.2.5.
RalfKeymasterCan’t comment on that without trying.
RalfKeymastervorpX works with the regular SSE, but not with the VR version.
BTW: The original DX9 version (Oldrim) is better for vorpX than the SSE.
RalfKeymasterUpdated profile is now available. Make sure to update vorpX to the latest version 18.2.5.
RalfKeymastervorpX 18.2.5 has been released. This is a maintenance release that brings the below changes/fixes.
New/Changed:
- Main Eye option added for Geometry 3D: useful in case of issues with aiming down sights
- G3D camera height now also changeable without positional tracking
- Various multithreading improvements
Game Profile Changes/Fixes:
- World of Warcraft: Geometry 3D redone for the latest game patch.
- Firewatch: Geometry 3D redone for the latest game patch.
- The Long Dark: Geometry 3D redone for the latest game patch.
- Gone Home: up/down positional tracking was inverted.
- Arma II/III: DirectVR auto settings now also work for mods/scenarios that don’t use the default config folder.
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: DirectVR FOV wasn’t working anymore.
- Farming Simulator 17: a hint is shown for Oculus users to switch vorpX to SteamVR in case of judder.
RalfKeymasterIf vorpX changes game settings automatically, you can restore the prior state in the config app (“Restore Game Settings” page).
However, for Rocket League vorpX does not change any game settings automatically at all, so there is nothing to restore in this case. So all I can recommend is checking the games’s options menu for any changes you may have made yourself.
RalfKeymasterJust a few minutes.
RalfKeymasterYour order went through, so you should have seen a link directly after the purchase and also have reveived an e-mail from MyCommerce shortly afterwards.
If you missed the link and/or the e-mail didn’t reach you, you can get a new download here.
RalfKeymasterIf that is the case, something is wrong.
Typically Geometry 3D results in a ~50%-60% performance decrease compared to playing on your monitor since everything has to be rendered twice to create the stereo 3D effect. For a game as old as Fallout 3/NV that still results in a very smooth frame rate normally though.
Please double check whether you maybe have any mods installed that have an high impact on performance. If so, please remove them. Try without any mods first and then add your mods back one by one to find the one(s) that affect performance.
If that does not help, you should consider switching to Z3D in the vorpX menu. Doesn’t look as good, but has a much smaller impact on performance.
You can find additional information regarding game performance in the “Performance Optimization” section of the vorpX help.
RalfKeymasterApparently they managed to patch-break the game for the second time already, just fixed the original profile about two or three months ago… I’ll take a look at it, but it might end up getting removed from the supported games list this time.
