    Thanks for the kind words. Most of the time one only hears from people with problems while the rest is enjoying the show. Very much appreciated whenever occasionally someone takes the time to write a post like yours.

    BTW: make sure to check some games from the list below. vorpX at max. capacity is more than just stereo 3D. If you like it so far, you might *really* enjoy games like e.g. Bioshock (for the best possible experience use the original with -dx9 launch parameter, not the remaster).

    Looks perfectly fine as far as I can tell. Again, you can safely ignore the positional scan if it fails on your machine for some reason. The default positional tracking is almost as good. All UE3 scanner profiles (Bioshocks, ACM, etc.) have been individually optimized and finetuned to death for hours and are as good as possible.

    There isn’t really much else to say than I said in my first reply (or what the scanner screen says already for that matter). In a nutshell: scanning through a game’s memory to find a specific location is a rather complex matter and may fail depending on a plethora of factors. There is no 100% guarantee. The scanner may even fail entirely on a specific machine. There also may be situations were the scanner ‘thinks’ it succeeded, but in fact didn’t. In such a case, just run it again ideally from a slightly different spot.

    Since it worked before and now suddenly doesn’t, it would also make sense to check whether you made any changes to your system since then (e.g. additional background applications running) and if so revert them to check whether that makes a difference.

    I also hope to have it in g3d, I bought vorpx for the dishonored and bioshock series which are my favorite games.

    I ordered the new rtx 3080 to have a good configuration to be able to play games like dishonored 2 easily and to enjoy them in vr with a high resolution.

    Using one of the FOV options in the Direct VR Scan menu helped (increasing the FOV scale). It still looks kind of off but at this point I don’t think the FOV is the problem, I’m guessing it’s just because this game doesn’t have geometry 3d so it looks a bit weird compared to e.g. Bioshock. Would be really cool to have full VR support for this game, I think it’s one of the better fps games released in recent years.

    I read all carefully, stopped all programs in the background, deinstalled the game and reinstalled it. When starting it still does not hook up to a profile.

    I give up now, other games like Dishonored or Bioshock Infinity just work with VorPx and I dont have deeper knowledge to find out why Outer Worlds does not hook up.

    I have played through Bioshock (the original) and Bioshock Infinite in VR and it was one of the best VR experiences I had. It’s actually up there with Half Life Alyx for me. Being inside these worlds was something really special and I actually enjoy that it’s a seated experience. I’m playing through the Bioshock Infinite DLCs right now and Rapture looks amazing with the newer Engine and in VR. I honestly don’t know why some people give VorpX a bad name since especially with direct vr it’s pretty easy to set up. I will probably buy the new Geforce 3080 just for VorpX since I really want to enjoy all of these great games with maximum visuals and great performance since VorpX really brings my 2070 Super to its knees on higher resolutions in games like Crysis.

    1. Most of the time the official profiles in the cloud are the same as the ones you have locally. Occasionally there may be an updated version in the cloud, but typically they are just there as another way to reset your settings to default.

    2. Profiles always work for all headsets. Things like FOV or controller mappings are handled in a way internally that makes profiles interchangeable between headsets.

    3. Some games disable mouse input when you use a gamepad. If vorpX requires a mouse for headtracking in such a game, it overrides the native gamepad handling and uses its built in gamepad to mouse/kb mapper instead.

    4. See 3. Although in Bioshock that shouldn’t be the case after running the DirectVR memory scan IIRC. You should see a message in the top left corner of the game window and in the headset about running the scanner. Once you successfully ran the scanner, vorpX can apply head tracking directly instead via emulating a mouse, so it should switch native gamepad handling back on afterwards.

    I followed the trouble shooting guide and still nothing with RDR2. I’ve also tested other games like Bioshock series and those work fine.

    Im on a 5600 xt and was having the same issue. I rolled my drivers back to ones from January and it now hooks. You may need to revert your drivers to get the game running. Seems like Rockstar messed with stuff that broke current AMD and Nvidia drivers from working

    But, I was having same issue with most recent drivers and reverting to old ones got me up and running on a 5600

    Bug Report for the beta version: For Bioshock, using the new sync i get 20-30 less fps, depending on location; ended up using the old sync as it’s much faster. Anywhere i tested was the same thing, using the old sync is simply better, it even crashed once using the new sync so i stopped using it completely.

    Also tested Witcher 3 but i didn’t see a difference using either, no crash either but i didn’t play it for long.

    Check out Bioshock 1+2 too. Ideally not the remasters, but the original versions in DX9 mode for vorpX.

    Surely a matter of taste, but IMO due to the claustrophobic underwater setting those are even better VR/vorpX experiences than Infinite. DirectVR support is at the same level, so pretty much all bells and whistles including basic roomscale.

    The OP apparently originally overlooked the one instruction (shown in the headset) that is required in regard to Bioshock, which is running the DirectVR scanner. That is done by a simple button press after loading a level. The DirectVR scanner scans fully automatically through the game memory and finds the locations for FOV (OP’s ‘zoomed in’ issue) as well camera rotation for better head tracking.

    Not for all games things are that simple, but for Bioshock it actually is. Not trying to convince you though. If you made up your mind, no problem. Maybe just not the best idea to make up your mind from a post describing an issue someone has without reading the replies.

    Well, buying VorpX is an all or nothing proposition for me. Since there’s no trial and no refunds and all sales are final I need Bioshock Remastered to be plug and play and it isn’t, so it makes my decision really easy.
