will those controllers work with vorpx? If not will there be a schedule?
THX
thanks
ok, I tried the GTX970 in that pc also tried the 980ti both get identical frame rates of 45 fps. Is there a cap on refresh rate or something?
Do I need to use a VR mod? I was just playing it with just Vorpx running no VR mod files in directory. What is the benifit of using the VR mod besides getting some room scale and using the hand controllers. Does it look better or is there less motion sickness? thanks! which one should I use if that one is broken?
as far as the gtav VR mod that does not work with Vorpx? sorry confused i thought all the walkthroughs said to use vorpx?
Hi, I just wanted to give a head up that Pinnacle Game Profiler is 70% off right now. It’s a way better option than Vorpx’s gamepad emulation. And it has with a lot of features that can really enhance the controller experience. Like the option to hold down a button down to have a completely different set of keys mapped to the controller for weapon shortcuts and what ever you need. https://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/
Throwing this out there… maybe it’s a good idea.. maybe someone else has figured this out.
I think the virtual cinema needs a lot more flexibility when it comes to it’s size and curvature. When it comes to FPS and Simulators (I’m a mechwarrior player myself) the ability to turn off mouse movement and wrap the screen around yourself and increasing the FOV could add a lot to immersion. I have recorded an example of what I’ve been able to do despite the limitations here…
MWO in the DK2 with Vorpx
You may lose the 360 degree look, but honestly, if you are sitting behind your desk with a controller I think it would be a good trade off.
comments?
Update: there was a new revive installer available. I am back up and running with Oculus Rift support using my galaxy s7 at 2560×1440. Incredible. Don’t have positional tracking but not used the majority of times.
I also have confirmed that for some strange reason using VorpX in Vive mode takes a massive performance hit resulting in the warning message 29fps so I have no idea what VorpX is doing differently against the whole Riftcat hosting Vive games through Steam VR but Vorpx in Oculus is fast.
I already ordered the Wearality 150 degree FOV glasses from amazon to then try out with Riftcat and VorpX. So far I have absolutely no need to buy a Rift or Vive with this better image quality in VorpX. No tracking controllers is the only disadvantage preventing me from running some Steam Vive games.
Hey there,
after working on this problem for over three hours I finally gave up. How the hell can you map keys in Skyrim? I’ve got an XBOX One Wireless Controller, latest drivers installed and it is behaving strange in Skyrim.
For instance: the attack is mapped to three buttons, jumping to two buttons. So I open the Vorpx menue and try to rebind the keys in the gamepad settings, but it is not working!
I click on “A” for example and the assigned letter disappears, looks good, right? Vorpx is waiting for a key now, so I press something… anything. However, no matter what I press Vorpx is not taking the key I press and instead remains inactive, this includes keyboard and gamepad keys. Only clicking with the mouse binds that mouse click to the assigned field.
I tried disabling the Xbox Gamepad in Skyrim itself, tried all the options with Vorpx. Nothing solves this problem. Most of the time the whole program just “crashes” (I can’t even close the ingame menue anymore) and I can only close it with the task manager.
Please! Offer me some help because I really want to play this with my Gamepad.
Thanks in advance.
Heej Reanor,
Well i think the pimax is pretty good, i seen cv1 vive and dk2 they all have their issues resolution is the biggest for me and then price. The pimax has 4k screens so there is no pixelation but its 60fps thats being interpolated into 90 by the hmd. I do not have problems with motion sickness. I use the razer hydra for motion control, you cannot run 2160p or 4k at 60 hz because the device has a hdmi 1.4b connection 4k at 30hz is max but it is not possible to render that out anyway so thats not a problem. positional tracking is spot on it is very light and has some ghosting but they all have that fov is good brightness is a bit less then cv1 but acceptable.I run 970 oc it is sufficient also because you only need 60fps. hope this helps! Cheers.
I will think about a way to achieve the intended behaviour without affecting your use case, which clearly will become more popular with Vive controller/Touch support. I just can’t promise anything since both have to work together. You wouldn’t want to use EdgePeek without the current functionality.
The left stick is configured to simulate WASD keys when using the controller emulation.
You can change button mappings on the gampad page of the ingame menu. To do that press the “Button Mappings” button, which will extend the page and show the according options.
There will be no dedicated new features regarding the gamepad emulation, but the new Direct VR feature will allow native gamepad use for more games that do not allow mouse and gamepad to be used together. This won’t apply to all those games though, only to those with Direct VR support.
The easiest general way to deal with games that do not allow mouse and gamepad to be used together besides using the gamepad emulation is playing the game in question with mouse and keyboard.
If you want to use an external tool like joy2key, you may have to disable the gamepad in the game’s options menu.
i turned off the controller , tried hide, partial, full nothing worked. If i turn off the controller, the controller is completely disabled and would nor work in the game.Any more ides ??
thx anyways..
Turn off the controller in vorpx, so you use the game’s native controls.
Hi this doesnt work for me.. with xbox controller it is almost impossible to steer a car because the left stick let u do just one thing at a time steering or going forward. If u want to accelerate u push it forward but you cant turn left or right unless u put the stick in the middle position steering during a pushed forward stick is not possible. Any ideas?

Play in cinematic mode. GTA V is not working well in VR mode, then it’ll work with native controller support. Check out how I set mine up. It is still a great experience and you can actually play the game from start to finish with these settings. https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/i-got-gta-v-working-really-well-heres-how/
I am pretty new to Vorpx, and am having issues with configuring the Xbox controller properly. This is the standard controller that ships with the Rift CV1.
1. In Star Wars Battlefront, I have vorpx set the full controller emulation. But in game, the left stick does not control movement. The trigger buttons and start back buttons work, along with the right stick to control the camera. What am I missing in the setup to make this work? I am not seeing any options to remap the stick to keyboard buttons, only the dpad.
2. How would I setup overriding the built-in vorpx controller emulation? I’ve tried to set it to “none”, and have tried using with joy2key, but the controller does not respond. Seems like vorpx was not allowing the pass-through of the controller signals after setting the “none” option the the vorpx in-game menu.
3. Where do I find more in-depth information on the vorpx in-game menu options?
4. I’ve seen mention of different remappers for setting up controllers. Is there a tried and true setup guide that anyone could recommend?
5. Ralf, could you give more information on the new pending controller features? Is there an ETA for when these will be released?
Any help is definitely appreciated!
Cheers.
Hey Ralf
Playing standing in normal VR mode is perfectly possible and looking around to choose a direction and virtually stepping forward using the controller in that direction as well. Like I said above.
In VR mode however (no matter how you set the FOV or at what resolution) the Motion Tracker in Alien Isolation is positioned to0 far off the center of the view screen, thus it is not visible in normal VR mode without using Edge Peek.
That is the reason why I activate Edge Peek momentarily even while standing so the screen zooms out enough so I can see the Motion Tracker.
However, as mentioned above Edge Peek has not memorized the direction I was facing in normal VR mode, it stays stuck on the initial point of view for example North. Since I don’t use the mouse to point my character in a certain direction, but face a certain direction using the HMD, the mouse keeps pointing at its original position and is not updated to my current facing direction in Edge Peek mode; So, whenever edge peek is activated, an invisible hand pulls my chin and my view direction back to that original mouse direction.
In short, in normal VR mode, I am facing west; when activating Edge Peek, my ingame viewpoint changes to facing north instead of facing West like in VR mode.
