It might not be necessary after all.
I tried a game (Dishonored Death of the Outsider) without an official profile just to see if I could get it to work in pancake mode.
But it refused to boot with the GEO-11 shader fixes DX11 DLL in the folder.
It just kept looping and trying to start the game.

Not sure if there’s a way of getting around this. But if we could hook directly into games to simply display them as is, it’d open up a lot of possibilities re: 3d gaming.
I’ve tried a few games on the new desktop viewer, and while it’s great… it’s not as stable as hooked games. I played Titanfall 2 and Rocket League earlier, and they don’t miss a beat at 90fps.

    A few tips:

Don’t like the extreme, crawly aliasing? You can force sparse-grid supersampling (SGSSAA) and it works with Vorpx. There is a performance hit but it’s less than I imagined it would be. It is extremely good at cleaning up aliasing. I would just disable the game’s ineffective anti-aliasing in the game’s menu.
    https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Dishonored#Anti-aliasing_.28AA.29

Eventually you will get to a NPC dialog that will not work properly in DirectVR mode. The dialog options will not appear. Disabling DirectVR for that conversation is a fix.

Also, after a successful DirectVR scan you may still not be able to look around. Try climbing an in game object to fix that.

    Greetings 3D fans,

I am thinking about buying VorpX for Doom2016 and Dishonored 2!
I´m slooooooowly running out of VR games because there is not much in true AAA quality after Half-Life Alyx and Moss, only indie-stuff and 2 hour games, that´s why I want regular AAA games in VR.
Just like Alien Isolation with that Mother-Mod, wow one of the BEST games for VR out there!

But VR has one significant flaw, everything is way too small and not life-like sized, and that´s why all games need to have the SteamVR world slider set to 120% to have the world around me in authentic life-like size.
Otherwise VR would look like a completely off and strange dwarfen world with ridiculous 140cm dwarfs as NPC´s standing around, chairs and tables look like made for elementary school children, and in general everything is only half the size it should be in VR when playing without the SteamVR world slider (which is the most legendary and important option ever implemented in any program!)

The world scaling option in SteamVR solves this problem diving into some ridiculous dwarven world whenever putting on the headset, for good!

Everything looks great now thanks to SteamVR world scaling. Even the cockpits in Flight Simulator 2020 needs slight scaling correction, the Fenix Airbus has a perfect life-like size in 110%, and the DCS jetfighters look great at 115-122% world size scaling.
Alien Isolation needs SteamVR world scale adjustment of 125% otherwise small children´s hands are holding the flamethrower.
You see how important size scaling is for VR? It is the main difference between being fully immersed, or being in a strange dwarven world where nothing has the right size and scale.

So to get to the point, it is not possible for me to enjoy VR without world scaling option because only having the correct size of objects gives immersion.

X-Plane for example has no world scale slider in VR, that´s why the cockpit chairs have the size for elementary school children, ridiculous and absolute impossible to immerse myself in such a cockpit.

You see, not graphics but seeing objects in the the right proper world-like size makes a game a masterpiece or a no-go in VR. :)

    My question is:
Has VorpX a world size slider option for games like Doom2016, Dishonored 2, (and I would also love to play Outlast and Soma if possible)?
Without world scaling the immersion and sense of size and height is so off that a VR gane is not enjoyable.
I need to know if I can adjust the size of the 3D world when using VorpX for a game before buying it :)

I was looking for finance dissertation assistance and found a team of experts who helped me out and gave me quality work, their link is given below. My friend told me, In theory, Death of the Outsider is five missions — about half the length of Dishonored 2. In execution, it’s a blink-and-you-miss-it-length tutorial mission, one long mission set across two times of day, a normal level, and then a final stage that might be one of the worst sequences in the series.

Greetings! Just been trying vorpx for the first time with a Quest 2, not having much luck – there’s head tracking, but it’s not working as quest 2 head tracking usually does in other apps (including other PCVR apps – works perfectly in e.g. Half Life Alyx, Google Earth etc, and mods like Outer Wilds). Games tested: portal 2, dishonored (to test two different engines). Various setting changes I’ve read about tried including direct vr scanning (which improves things but doesn’t fix). It’s managing 6DOF tracking, but it’s very “swimmy” – it tilts off to random angles and is like I’m on a boat. I can see the Quest’s guardian boundary is also floating away from its usual locked position, so there may be something that’s stopping the guardian system from working correctly?

I am unsure if this is the expected level of head tracking, or if there’s something I’m doing wrong, and the quest 2 should be able to lock its head tracking in the usual way while using vorpx? Thank you.

    Headset: HP Reverb G2
    CPU: ryzen 7 3800XT
    GPU: RX 6800

I’m having issues input from my xbox elite controller is not detected in game. I’ve tried games with and without existing vorpx profiles and no dice. Controller is connected via Bluetooth and works normally when not using vorpx.

In some games such as dishonored 2, the vorpx button trigger works but no input for the game itself.

    Any suggestions?

I do not like the native scene. Most of the games are experimental and last 2-3 hours. Just now I play Dishonored 2 and Jedi Fallen Order with VorPx, those are top games and I want to play good games.

Also many games are designed for the Quest, and there are many casual gamers.

Concerning PS5: since this is a closed system, does anybody know whether Sony delivers some suppoert for developers who want to make their games hybrid? If they dont do we will simply not see many hybrid games.

Also I hope for some remakes on the PS5 for VR. They do all kind of remakes for the last of us or GTA 5, a version for PSVR 2 would be appreciated.

As I said I think hybrid gaming is the future, native games will never be really successful.

I’m looking forward to the G3D in Dishonored 2 (and DOTO) too! Dishonored 1 is my favorite game, I bought VorpX for it and I really don’t regret it ;) It’s amazing in VR!

Luke Ross (the creator of REAL VR) has planned to port D1, D2 and DOTO in VR, but it will probably be with his AER system (Alternate Eye Rendering) which is not really good, I’m both happy and sad because VorpX would have done better I think.

Yeah I also don’t like AER but I’d play it still if there’s no Vorpx support. Better AER than Z3D or flat.

I admit that I considered vorpX a bit too “chatty”. At least I will consider now the advices when a game does not do what I want.

By the way: I am especially happy about the look of Dishonored 2 now. Dishonored 1 was my favorite vorpX game and I really wanted the second part look an play well. The game is pretty long and also has a big addon, you also can play as Corvo or Emily, so 100+ hours of gameplay are here.

So Ralf I am sorry to make you upset! In fact I am a long time user of Vorpx and I read all stuff carefully. I added custom resolutions long time ago, I remember I did that when I had problems with Bioshock Infinite a year ago.

But I added much more custom resolutions yesterday. At least that shouldnt hurt, right?

I restarted Deus Ex HR then and could really change the quality from decent to ultra. Before it did not work! The game also looks now much better.

I later tried Dishonored 2, which also seems to take profit from the new resolutions. It now looks as good as it gets for a game not having geometry 3D.

Also Mass Effect Legendary works now much better with the new resolutions.

I guess that I did not add the very high resolution options before, also I added some fancy 5:4 or 8:9 resolutions now.

I know there were a lot of threads about Dishonored 2 and 3D Geometry. So my purpose was to deal with the other 3D options. Thank you for the launch options, I will try them.

Concerning gameplay it is just great with Vorpx! To move around in those environments is so much better with VR than on a flat screen. I managed to tweak the options a bit more so I have an “okay” experience concerning graphics.

For Bioshock 2 I suggest you try vanilla Bioshock 2, it works pretty well and way more stable, fantastic game with Vorpx.

Bioshock Infinite is mindblowing with Vorpx, but you better be immune to VR sickness, since the air rails gameplay will put it to the test.

Another great game for me is Kingdom Come Deliverance, it works with geo3d but it looks great even with z3d.

Dishonored is one of those games that I wanted to play with Vorpx, but it looks terrible with geo3d and performs really bad last time I checked, at some point I’ll try again now with FSR.

Definitely Bioshock 1 remastered & Infinite (2 I always found really unstable in VorpX and the Dishonored series.

The Arkham games are great, but I had motion issues with all the grappling (and I generally have a stomach of steel for VR).
