I’ve tried with HL2, farcry3 and Skyrim and I can’t get VorpX to do anything. it acts just like vorpx isn’t there.
I’ve check for the problematic DLL files, made sure the control program is running, checked all the hardware is connected as it should be, and tried creating VorpX desktop shortcuts; as other threads have suggested but with no luck.
Can I get some support on this?

I use keyboard and mouse. I’ve moved the snap view key to one of my side mouse buttons. Getting the right mouse/rift/game sensitivity settings doesnt take me very long at all, and fov 100-110 seems to work great for everything. So far with vorpx I’ve played f1 2012(logitech d-force pro), far cry 3, bioshock, bio infinite, fallout 3, bf4, ghosts, flight sim x(logitech x3d), and dead space 3. They all work fantastic. I havent configured vorpx for bf4 where i can fly the helicopters very well, but right now fallout 3 is pretty hard to tear myself away from. I haven’t played single player video games in YEARS and now i can’t seem stop. I just dont prefer to use gamepads. On some of the simpler unity demos I do use it, but for anything FPS it feels more natural for me to just use m-kboard.

For FarCry 3 you have to disable the game overlay in the UPlay options, otherwise the game only displays a black screen unfortunately. You can also try to use the DX9 .exe instead of the default DX11.

BF4 should work by starting it normally through Battlelog. If it doesn’t there are two things you can try: Starting the 32bit version instead of the default 64bit .exe, and go to offline mode in Origin. The latter lets you start the game without Battlelog, which might work better, but disables multiplayer.

I am well aware of this, I think you misunderstood my post. All I am saying is that turning off shadows, although a fine temporary fix, is not a solution to the issue. HELIX managed to fix shadows for 3DVision (for free I may add) so it’s not impossible for you to do this also. Clearly, even with HELIX’s mod not being compatible with this driver it can displace and move shaders etc (even if not correctly).

From a product I have paid money for & that advertised Skyrim as a supported game I’d expect more. Beta or nay, Skyrim was stated it was a working game. Yes, it “works” depending on how you personally interpret “working” (it doesn’t CTD on launch like BioShock Infinity at least), but it is really unplayable due to the many bugs I listed above. Without working water, sky box and scaled arms I would say the game is an unplayable mess. Which is shame.

I’m not trying to have a go or anything but so far other than the edge peek function (which is liable to be copied in some shape or form) I have been quite disappointed with VORPX in general. Even as a beta I expected the listed games to at least work well considering how few there are.

I hope you are not expecting the Z-Buffer mode to carry this product as many 3D enthusiasts will not touch fake 3D with a barge pole. Take a look at all the Crysis 2/3 threads out there.

If you intend to look into these issues then fair enough, just let us know and if possible provide some kind of ETA / priority list. Equally, if intend on leaving stuff broken in games or worse still disabled (as your original reply hinted) let us know and if at all possible where / how we get our money back.

You need to seriously look at posting a bunch of known issues on your “compatible” games list so people can at least make an informed purchase.

on my side i’ve tried far cry 3 and black ops 2. both fail to launch.

Black ops stays on a black screen with vorpx beta and far cry just doesn’t lunch. All good if i pause the watcher

I’m not having any of the issues that you mentioned. I’ve tried Bioshock infinite and Far cry 3 with no issues. Also skyrim and fallout 3. I haven’t tried Mirrors edge jet, but I’m installing it now.

    My system specs are sorta similar. I7, GTX580 (320.49), win7 64 bit.
However as I’ve only recently got my Oculus I’ve never bothered to install Vireio or similar software. Is there a possibility that Vireio is somehow inhibiting the performance of the VorpX drivers?

Besides the ones mentioned in the original post there are for example Mass Effect 2+3, Flight Simulator X, Race Driver Grid (no headtracking for now), Far Cry, Half-Life 2, Metro 2033, rFactor, …

A detailed list with all games that have full 3D-support will be made available before launch. There is something for everyone, or at least I hope so, a good mix of older and newer games from many genres.

And even if your favorite game isn’t among the ~50 with full 3D-support, there is a high chance that it will run without stereoscopic 3D, but everything else.

If you have any wishes, please post them here. I’m always open to suggestions, just don’t be disappointed if your wish isn’t included in the first release. The day only has so many hours. :)
