    Hi!

I think I found a solution, at least worked for me. The problem was, that for some reason, among special conditions (alt-tabing or maybe else) ingame settings fullscreen mode sometimes turns to borderless, and I didn’t notice that also happened in my game settings.

So, for me the following steps made it OK on DK2:

    1. Enter the game first without launching VorpX, and you make sure to have these settings: aspect ratio: auto; refresh rate: 60 Hz; screen: fullscreen (NOT windowed or borderless!).
    2. Save the changes and quit the game to desktop.
    3. Set the rift to extended, and pause the service in configuration utility.
    4. Launch VorpX (make sure VorpX was updated to the latest build).
    5. Launch Far Cry 4 in offline mode.

    I hope this helped!

p.s.: The game makes terrible nausea for me in the rift, however I tried to alter several VorpX settings (image zoom, vignette scale, etc). It would be really usefull, if somebody made a little guide about the VorpX options and how the lower or higher alterations of these settings one by one will take an effect in the game

    Hi,
    I’m writing from Italy,
    I have the same problem!!!

I have new VorpX 0.7.5, I set the rift to extended, I use VorpX Far Cry 4 settings, apply them, I start the game as administrator, Uplay is offline, overlay is disabled.
The game starts up fine, I see the double images on my monitor with the VorpX logo and VorpX settings, I can start the game, I see the rift has the head tracking, but no matter what I do, I just can not make the game run on my rift, only on my monitor. I also tried to set the rift as primary display, and in VorpX settings I tried using system settings and show on DK2 only as well, but no luck.

    Hi!

I have almost the exact same problem. I have new VorpX 0.7.5, I set the rift to extended, I use VorpX Far Cry 4 settings, apply them, I start the game as administrator, Uplay is offline, overlay is disabled.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated!

    Thanks

Has anyone had any luck getting farcry 4 up and running? I see the sbs oculus view for about 2 seconds (with working headtracking) but then an immediate crash. Looked in windows event logs and nothing hugely useful there (just 0xc0000005 fault in farcry4.exe). I’ve just clean reinstalled the game, Oculus 0.4.4 and Vorpx 0.7.5 which made no difference. Any tricks to getting this working? Would really like to give it a go.

    Hi guys,

I’ve been trying to check out Far Cry 4 with the Rift DK2 but no luck.
Seems the driver won’t hook on it.
Can you detail your vorpX config for me please?

What are the chances of getting Far Cry 4 to work with DK2 and VorpX? Tried to see if it would hook without any official support, but no dice.

I’ve been messing with vorpx since yesterday. Had a REALLY hard time trying to figure out how it worked. Could get Far Cry 3 to display the vorpx screens and stereoscopy but only on my monitor…Dirt 3 wasn’t doing anything at all.

Only when i tried DIRT2 i managed to get it working. I know now you really have to have your rift setup as the primary monitor BUT you can alt-tab and put your monitor back as primary once the game is launched.

I used to race a lot with tridef on both dirt2 and 3 so i know how important it is to find the sweetspot with seperation, the fov etc…

All in all vorpx seemed to be as good as tridef in dirt 2 once i got it working….

ANYWAY…DIRT 3 isnt’ doing anything. The hook isn’t working. Does anybody have ANY idea as to what might be going wrong?

The game runs very smooth on my GTX660 and it accepts Mouse and Gamepad simultaneously, which makes the experience quite nice.

There are just two things: 3D is not working. VorpX menue show Z-mode or adaptive mode, but unfortunately the picture stays flat. I tried troubleshooting and resetted the settings in the VorpX-Configuration Menue (which helped with the same issue I had with Oblivion), but on Far Cry 2 it makes no difference.

The other issue: FOV seems a bit to narrow for me. I searched the web but found nothing, what could help here. It seems you can’t change the FOV in game version 1.03 with an ini-tweak. The only thing which helps a bit at the moment is to set VorpX-rendering to Letterbox-format.

Does someone have an idea how to tweak the FOV?

I’m having similair issue’s but only with a few games,
These games work for me :
    Fallout New Vegas
    FarCry 3 & Blood Dragon
    Mirrors Edge(but not steam version)
    Garry’s Mod
    DayZ
Stalker Call of Pripyat(but shows a blackscreen can hear sounds tough)
    Battlefield 3
    Crysis 3
F.E.A.R – wich launches with vorpx but runs on my normal screen not the rift even tough the rift is primary display.

Games that do not seem to trigger vorpx:
Bioshock Infinite – the game launches but is not running via vorpx
F.E.A.R 2 – Crashes at startup but briefly triggers vorpx.

Iv been having the same issues as you when trying to get the gamepad to work properly. The way vorpx handles gamepad imputs doesnt alow for deep customization which is fine since there are programs like xpadder that fill that need. However the problem still persists because the internal gamepad seems to have inputs for buttons that simply cant be remapped and it seems to be causing problems with xpadder. When I start a game the gamepad works flawlessly but as soon as I hit the left thumbstick it brings up a weird vorpx menu with numbers that dont seem to serve any function and after I close that all my buttons are messed up. I cant run anymore, sheathing weapons makes me run forward indefinitely and the start and select buttons do other random things.

As a side note, these issues seem to only affect skyrim and farcry 3 as apposed to bioshock infinite, borderlands 2 and COD MW3 which work flawlessly.

I’ve tested Far Cry 3 with VorpX ver. 0.7.1 and it works ok including head tracking (Thanks to Ralf for the very quick release for DK2!) Note that if you’re running FC3 for Steam, in vorpX you must exclude the program “FC3UpdaterSteam.exe”.

Skyrim: In case you use any mods, please try a fresh and modless (vanilla) install first, and install your mods again one by one afterwards. The vast majority of mods will work fine with vorpX, but there are so many of them that it is impossible to tell whether some might cause issues. Mods that use the Skyrim Script Extender or ‘ENB mods’ are likely candidates for causing trouble.

For Far Cry 3 the following things might be worth to check:

    1. Disable the in-game overlay in Uplay, otherwise you might get a black screen on startup.
    2. Switch from DX9 to DX11 or vice versa. Maybe one works better for you.
    3. The game sometimes seems to require several tries until vorpX hooks correctly unfortunately. Starting the game multiple times should suffice, you probably do not have to restart vorpX.

Generally please check for the following things (some of that you might have done already):

    1. Just in case: make sure that you run vorpX Control, not vorpX Config. It shows a tray icon in the taskbar when it is running.

    2. If you use more than one monitor, check whether disconnecting the additional monitor(s) helps.

    3. Make sure to set Windows display config to clone mode and vorpX monitor config to ‘Use system settings’ (which is the default).

    4. If still nothing works after verifying that, there is a high probability that something on your PC interferes with vorpX. This might be a virus scanner, anything that can show content over games (for example chat programs like Skype, Mumble, X-Fire, Evolve etc.), or a special display driver. Please disable all such programs temporarily.

    5. If you didn’t do that already, please take a look at the trouble shooting sticky above.

If you still have similar issues with multiple games afterwards, please write a mail to support |at| vorpx com for some individual trouble shooting, including basic system specs and the games you tried.
