and ur list is incomplete , too and GTA5 is G3D,, so which list can one trust…?
I’ve played this game on my Rift with Tridef 3D on a virtual screen, so was really looking forward to trying it in FullVR mode with VorpX.
Unfortunately while the VorpX profile runs much better than the Tridef profile and lets you see more of the game’s graphical effects … Depth separation between your gun and any nearby objects/landscape is borked–which is to say there is no depth separation between your gun and the ground whatsoever. It’s a shame because in other respects the game, as I said, looks great with VorpX. Has anyone else run into this issue and is there a way to change it? I seem to remember encountering it with some other games as well–ARMA II had the same thing.
If there’s no fix I’m still happy playing Hellblade, GTA V, Kingdom Come, etc …
GTA V has Geometry 3D (fast GPU highly recommended) and the FOV is set fully automatically.
I’d say it’s good, although my rig might not be up to G3D with this game and FOV feels slightly zoomed in. I’m definitely going to go back and play this with VorpX when I finish GTA V.
I’m experimenting with making custom profiles for GTA V. There is an option to export the profiles to a file, which I took to mean we could then … use them in some way. Like import them back into VorpX to use with GTA V. But VorpX will not let me detach the default GTA V profile from the GTAV.exe. How am I supposed to use an imported profile if the default profile is locked onto the .exe?
I have lenovo explorer, so most of the games crushin with vorpx after 5-10 min playing. Dont buy it. This is shit software.
Already have it my friend. I bought it for Oculus Rift and I also am getting Lenovo. I would still like an answer to my question though. Anyone know what refresh rate to set for custom resolutions?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Why is it so important? gta 5 gets 45 fps on gtx 1080 with resolution 2880*2160 and it looks pretty amazing for me, but I cant reach the same quality and fps when changing vorpx options autores. far cry 3 just the same( I want try it even more but nvidia custom resolution don’t let it)
But, the more resolution I make the faster vorpx is stuck. Games crashes, (exept alien isolation – it flowing nice) If I change resolution down, games playing stable longer but not much. Sometimes game unfreezes thru 2-3 min. I anticipate vive pro will have the same problem with more streaming requirements.Vorpx driver will stuck all the time.
Not really important. Just want to make sure I’m doing it the right way. I’m pretty burned out on playtesting different settings and would like to hear from Ralf the refresh rate to set to avoid hours wasted doing it the wrong way. I mostly use it for Skyrim and got it the best I can but havent tried to do it the way Ralf stated above. He just left out the Refresh Rate bit. Plus I only got a GTX970 so I really need to eliminate any unnecessary pixels and fps to squeeze out the best performance.

I was having the exact same issue with GTA V.
I stopped VorpX from setting the FOV and found another app to set it and the result was a HUGE increase in both image quality and in frame rate, with the drawback being FOV is not as perfectly calibrated as it was when I let VorpX manage it.
VorpX is great for head tracking and for SBS 3D but at least with GTA V and possibly other games I think you might want to try and set FOV with either a mod or a second app (I think it might be better to set resolution yourself too). The cost in frame rate and image quality can be quite high otherwise.
Hello there,
Is there a way to make “Head Tracking Multilpier” availiable under Full VR ?
The reason i am asking is (forgive me if that has been asked already, or i dont understand the headtracking in the different modes),
i got the settlers 2 – next generation working with a GTA IV Profile in Full VR. I can move the game around myself in 360 ° with the mouse and it looks very nice like its supposed to. BUT: The Headtracking ruins this completely.
On one side the headtracking is needed, on the other side the headtracking moves the hole screen around.
When switching to cinema mode i can solve this with setting Head Tracking Multilpier to 0, but i dont have the Full VR environment anymore.
Would be nice if theres a way to fix this myself..
hi all. Im using this VR mod > http://grandtheftvr.com/openvr-support/
and im follow all the instructions but i have problems to run this mod with my oculus. When start the game a message says : hit [Numpad 0] to open the VR Mod Menu , i press 0 and i enable the VR mod and switch enable. But the screen goes grey and can´t see nothing. Pleasee see the screenshot i attach here:

can´t see nothing, just like you see in the screenshot. What do you recomend ? uninstall the game and install again and put the files again in the gta folder ? thanks a lot.
Did you manage to fix this? I have the same issue with a press install
fixed it by opening steamvr before loading the game even tho i have non steam version!

Reducing texture quality might be worth a shot, but a GTX970 is clearly at its limit either way with G3D in GTA5, so you probably won’t gain much.
vorpX forces the game to run windowed, the resolution shown in the options screen is bogus in that case.
Thanks Ralf. I guess I’ll leave it as is, though there’s something odd that happens … after a while of playing with the 360 game pad, when I push backwords on the joystick I go forward instead, or kind of jerk back and forth. It’s like it is reading backwards on the joystick as both backwards AND forwards. It only seems to happen with GTAV. Maybe I’ll try an xbox one gamepad or the rift controller and see if this fixes my issue.
I want to say I really appreciate how much time you are putting in around here and the fact that I can always count on you for a response. As you may or may not know I was a harsh critic of VorpX for a while but the software has completely won me over. Now when I post about it on the Oculus forum I rave about it so much someone always accuses me of being the developer! I am actually having more fun playing games with VorpX on my Rift than I am playing actual Rift games, and I’ve played a ton of them. You could say that’s because games like GTA V, etc are just more fully realized than almost any VR game, and that’s true, but I would never go back to playing them on a flat screen without VorpX, because VorpX really makes them come alive.
Anyway–thanks again and if there is anything I can do to help get the word out, let me know!
GTA V has DirectVR FOV handling, no need for a FOV mod, which would probably cause a conflict even if it worked. You can apply a +/-20° offset on the DirectVR page of the vorpX ingame menu.
Be aware though that doing so will cause image distortion, the FOV computed by vorpX is objectively the correct FOV.
Yes, I see what you mean, Ralf. I tried adjusting the settings you specified and ended up going back to the defaults. Thanks for the information!
hi my gtav updates unintentionally and had the same problem .
So what to do: First start gta5 with vorpx disable the automatic game changes option. Restart gta5, go into graphics option in gta5 menu. set ur desired resolution. Save it and restart gta5 without voprx and check. Ur resolution has been changed to the one u choose. Now start vorpx with automatic settings still to :off. In gta 5 graphics options check again and u will see ur resolution as desired.
Now u can enable automatic setting and change what u want. But unfortunately even in G3D ists looking like z buffer. But ur resolution is set.
I am fed up because after restarting 20 times for trouble shoot .
The automatic setting should be disabled by default! atlast for GTA5 because of the annoying gta 5 starting process through rockstar….
