Resident Evil Village profile works quite nicely in Z3D for Dragon’s Dogma 2. You must set the in game graphics setting -Rendering Mode from ‘interlaced’ to ‘progressive’ for Z3D to work.

    Hello,

    I am using Vorpx 24.1.0.

The official profile for Starfield is causing the 3D effect to rapidly turn off and on when close to a wall, large object or confined space. It makes a kind of vibrating/shaking effect with your character as the 3D rapidly turns off and on. Sometimes the 3D effect stays off in certain areas of the game like caves or certain hallways.
I turned the 3D effect down to 0.34 to reduce the effects of this happening but there is not a lot of 3D effect happening at that level.

I noticed the same thing would happen with a USER profile before the official profile was released with version 21.3.5.

There was a profile when the beta was available based on Resident Evil Village profile that this vibrating/shaking 3d effect was not occurring.

It is playable with the 3D effect turned down though and is still quite good.

Is there a graphics setting I have turned on that is causing this?
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

    Thanks.

The question is not if Quest 3 works, but if Quest headsets work in general. The answer is: of course – they’re the most popular & compatible devices out there.

I had Quest 2 in the past, and it worked perfectly with VorpX. Now i have a Quest 3 and while i haven’t used it much with VorpX yet (too much time spent with modding SkyrimVR! :), yesterday i played Anno Mutationem for a while (Outer Wilds profile, Z3D) and it works perfectly fine.

I’d say it works as good or bad as Link/AirLink is allowing it to. Some people report that the current Oculus software has broken USB-Link (haven’t tried it yet, my USB cable is damaged). Sometimes AirLink has hiccups and VorpX can’t do anything about it. That’s about everything you need to keep in mind.

Maybe VorpX can be used with SteamLink or Virtual Desktop, but you would be limited to wireless.

I’ve been using the Varjo Aero for a year now (coming from Reverb G1) and it works great with vorpX. The G1 was already a good experience, but since vorpX gaming is my main hobby, naturally I rationalized the upgrade.

I play all my games seated at the desk – mouse and keyboard, and only use minimal head tracking to occasionally look side to side. For me it’s about sitting comfortably and having the best fidelity visuals possible – so that I can get lost in these game worlds for hours at a time. I’ve learned that when playing this way, I prefer high resolution over high FOV, and a heavy headset vs one that puts pressure on my nose and cheeks.

While super high fov is desirable for standard vr, it is not always ideal for vorpX. Many games do not allow 120+ degrees fov, and therefore you must zoom out the image in vorpX to compensate. This zooming out reveals the edges of the screen, which greatly hinders immersion. Much better to let the physical size of the lenses naturally limit your view than to have artificial edges on the screen. in the G1 I could zoom out to 90% before noticing the bottom edge, now in my Aero I can zoom out until 70%.

Although heavier than G1, the Aero + counterweight comfort kit is much more friendly to my face. Thanks to the rigid strap, it can hold the front end out in front rather than resting on my face. With an added square of T-shirt tied from front to back, the weight is distributed evenly over the top of my head, all supported by my neck. I even removed the face cushion and put a thin layer of fabric there that only gently brushes my cheeks (and blocks the velcro). With this setup, I only stop playing because I am tired, but never because I’m uncomfortable.

A very lightweight pair of Koss KPH30i works great for decent audio. I tied them to the top strap and let them just rest on the Aero’s headstrap. All you need do is pull them down over your ears to use. The cable I have rapped around the headset a couple times to not hang loose.

My frame rates actually improved a little from G1. Something about the Varjo software runs better, and it has helped keep my 2080ti relevant.

There’s really only two things that initially bothered me about the Aero. First was the larger nose gap in between the eyes (less binocular overlap), and second, the contrast of both eyes was not identical in dark scenes. I don’t know if that was just a defect of my unit (never heard reviewers mention it), but bright scenes look great. Very quickly my brain accustomed to the larger nose gap, and now I rarely even notice it during play. I don’t tend to look in the far corners of my eye anyway, as it quickly becomes straining.

Anyway, I maybe wouldn’t say the Aero is the best all-rounder vr headset. But for vorpX, it’s the best one I’ve tried. G2 is still great though I’m sure.

    Project: Extinction (G3D)

This game nicely demonstrates how good an old 1024×768 game in cinema mode can look like. Besides – probably one of thze hardest to play shooters ive seen :-)

    – Optimized for Cinema Modes
    – Full VR not recommended
    – Profile available at the cloud

If anyone is interested, I uploaded a new Beta vorpX Starfield profile based on Resident Evil Village. It is configured for Cinema mode and called ‘Starfield-Cinema Mode #2’. The Z3D is quite strong and can be turned way up.

Only 4K resolution 3840×2160 works, lower resolutions have glitched textures. Custom resolutions above 2000p would probably work. First person gun view is also slightly glitched. No issue with third person view. Restart game if FPS drops. Hit ‘Delete’ key twice if gamepad stops working.

Set these game settings for best Z3D:
    -Set Particle Quality to ‘LOW’.
    -Set Motion Blur to ‘OFF’.
    -Set Film Grain from 0-12.
-Set Enable Depth of Field to ‘OFF’.
DLSS only works without glitches on max quality or max performance.

    Hi Ralph and community :)

    Can someone please assist me with instructions on how to make back4blood run..i was getting a [.dll] error message..i attempted to disable EAC with the {start_protected_game.exe.BAK }
{start_protected_game.exe} method..game seem to hook and then crashed and attempted to try again and it didn’t hook at all after that..

As for Warhammer Darktide ..i used dead island 2 profile i could barely crank up the 3d strength before seeing the screen display a weird overlaying double vision..

I really appreciate any advice and help

    Thanks :)

    Hi,
since i bought quest 3 (on quest 2 everything was ok), every time when i try to start any game it says “No oculus device has found”. After game is start i can see Vorpx logo on the bottom but can’t get ingame vorpx menu and you can see that vorpx is not load properly. I have reinstalled Vorpx but get same message.
And i have also check this: “You can check that by browsing to ‘C:\Users\[Your User]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore’. If this folder contains a subfolder named ‘ProgramData\Animation Labs’ something is severly wrong. Move the ‘Animation Labs’ sub folder to C:\ProgramData in that case. It should only exist in C:\ProgramData, not in the virtual store.”
    everything is ok.

    Nice to meet you!
    I started GhostWireTokyo using Luka2099’s profile,on Halloween 2023.
I want to improve image quality and FPS using ValveIndex, Ryzen5900, and RadeonRX6800, but it doesn’t work.
I increased the graphics settings of the game, the image settings of VorpX, and the refresh rate of SreamVR, but the roughness and stuttering still remained, but when I checked with the OVR Toolkit, the GPU usage rate was around 50% at 90FPS.
When using VorpX, not just GhostWireTokyo, in what order or what items should I pay attention to in order to improve performance?
I would like to hear opinions from VorpX enthusiasts.

I apologize for my poor English skills.
    From a Japanese VorpX enthusiast,Marozaki.

Finally ! I succeeded; The instructions, if anybody is interested are as follows:

    – Download dgVoodoo2_81_3 from here: http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/ReadmeGeneral/ (*)
    * Note: make sure you use http:// at the url, because in many browsers I have to change it from https to http, because it changes automatically for some unknown reason.

Also, it’s not related to VR but those instructions are also necessary to run this program on Windows 10:

Before you run the game, create a preparebillar.cmd file with the following lines and run it as administrator:

    cd c:
cd “C:\Program Files (x86)\CANAL+\CANAL+ CLASSIC BILLAR”
    cd Divers
    del FS_Device
    del FS_Driver
    del FS_Mode
    pause

Continuing with the VR stuff, now copy the following files (without including its folders) from the folder you had decompressed dgVodoo, to the folder where the main executable for the game is installed, for example in “C:\Program Files (x86)\CANAL+\CANAL+ CLASSIC BILLAR\CCBillard.exe”:

    dgVoodooCpl.exe
    All files inside the “MS\x86” folder: D3D8.dll, D3D9.dll, D3DImm.dll, DDraw.dll
    All files inside the “3Dfx\x86” folder: Glide.dll, Glide2x.dll, Glide3x.dll

Next, open the configure Vorpx dialog and download the cloud profile named “Aliens vs. Predator 2 (DGVoodoo2) – Z3D” and change its executable to point to CCBillard.exe and rename its local profile to “Canal + Classic Billar” and apply the changes.
    Run the preparebillar.cmd as administrator.

Finally, open your VR Headset e.g. Quest 2, connect to link, show the desktop and run the program CCBillard.exe as administrator from its folder (the desktop shortcut method does not seem to be working): A message will appear with a warning that a third party DLL (from dgVoodooCpl) has been detected; minimize all temporarily, find again that message and click on accept; Then return to the game.

When you accept from inside the game the initial proposed resolution, it should then attach to vorpx and launch it in VR.

Tips: you can also use RivaTunerStatisticsServer that comes with MSI Afterburner to show the api level used by the game, that should display Directx 11 if dgVoodooCpl.exe is working properly.

To play Assassin’s Creed Mirage with Vorpx, please follow these steps:

    1. Install the Vorpx Beta and the Vorpx (DX10,11,12) hook helper if prompted. Before installing the Vorpx hook helper, make sure to rename any existing “dxgi.dll” file in the Game Folder of Assassin’s Creed Mirage to “d3d12.dll.”

Import my user profile Assassin’s Creed Mirage (VR-Punk) in the cloud section of the vorpx-config-tool to your local profiles section in vorpx.

Make sure, that all “game”.exe files of Assassin’s Creed Mirage are associated with my profile in the local profile section.

    2. Resolution

In most cases, your GPU driver will automatically suggest a suitable resolution for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

For the best gaming experience, I recommend the following resolution settings:

    Aspect Ratio: 16:10
    Resolution: 3456×2160

Optionally, you can use Vorpx’s virtual monitor:

    1. Right-click on the Vorpx-config-tool icon in the tray and open configure
    2. Navigate to the ‘Virtual Monitor’ in the Vorpx Beta GUI.
    3. Create a custom resolution, such as 3456×2160 or 3840×2400.
    4. Minimize it to the tray again.
    5. Right-click on the Vorpx-config-tool icon in the tray.
    6. In the menu that appears, select the option to enable the virtual monitor manually.

Now, open the Windows System settings and go to the display and resolution settings:

You will see a list of two or more monitors. Look for the Vorpx virtual monitor; it should offer the 16:10 resolution you created, such as 3840×2400, select the Vorpx virtual monitor and change the resolution to your custom 16:10 setting.

    3. Game settings

You can find your game settings in the following location:

    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Assassin’s Creed Mirage\ACMirage.ini

After making changes, ensure the file remains write-protected; this is necessary for proper functioning (!)

In the INI file, you can adjust various settings, including language, graphics, input, and more to suit your preferences. Feel free to customize your game settings as needed

Motion Blur, Depth of Field and Film Grain have to be deactivated. I recommend to use DLSS in combination with Adaptive Quality to 60 FPS.

One of the most interesting settings is:

    FOVScale=2.13000

This Super Third-Person FOV allows you to zoom very high in the Cinema Screen in your Headset while maintaining a reasonable distance from your player character

My game settings are looking like this, but feel free to customize it for your needs, Assassin’s Creed Mirage allows many different settings and still works well in vorpx.

Hey I just started using Vorpex for Cyberpunk and it’s working surprisingly well so thank you for that.

I just wanted to know if anyone had a solution to aiming controls being reversed during vehicle combat? When I look to the left the gun goes to the right and vice versa. I checked the in-game controls for vehicle but could not find anything that would reverse it back. Same with the Vorpex menu unless I missed anything?

I didn’t find a way to edit my message but I just noticed that my controller don’t work with the Vorpex menus. It works fine with the game but not with Vorpex. For example I cannot activate edge peek using my controller only using my mouse. Could this be the reason my controls are acting weird during vehicle combat? Anyone know why my controller might not register with Vorpex? I’m using a PS5 controller wired to my PC btw.

the user profile is great BUT i cannot use the controller at all. would an official profile fix that or can i bury my hopes of starfield in vr?

As long as you have proper controller type set in VorpX, both Alpha and my profile work for me in terms of controller gamepad emulation. My profile has gestures mapped as well – aiming, throwing grenades etc. I like to set controllers as only buttons visible (no controller models) – it’s less distracting that way. I’m on WMR though, so not sure about other VR platforms.

If you want to use both VR controllers and gamepad (or joystick via emulator) there is a mod that allows SIMULTANEOUS operation of both, instead of the takeover mode that can be set in the game menu: https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1603 I haven’t tried it yet, but there are a lot of happy people in the comments there. I suspect it will be awkward as head tracking would clash with gamepad control in flight. But maybe it would alleviate some issues I was writing about earlier. Anyway, best to test it with an official profile when it’s out, but the option is there.

Is it normal to have artifacts in this game?

I noticed wobbles with native FSR support, and I do have wobbles with DLSS (FSR Bridge) mod. But normally they are only present in menus and they get better in virtual screen mode that you should be using in menus anyway. In game everything is fine normally, but sometimes I see corrupted video in the top third of the image, and changing the scaling slider in-game seems to help with that. I have no problems with around 84% setting. More or less can give scrambled top of the screen that can randomly appear and disappear. Last few days it’s fairly stable.

I’ll look into it. That’s all I can say at this point, sorry.

Thank you for looking into it. I appreciate all you can do. I’m just saying that it’s not an edge case at all for this game. It’s not my opinion, it’s mainstream. Here’s the quote from one mainstream media review: “Starfield fortunately makes it easy to seamlessly switch between the two devices … On PC, simply using your keyboard to move around will instantly change all prompts from controller to keyboard and vice versa. Feel free to use both if you really want to.” The game has a specific setting for it. There are many discussions online about using it that way.

I won’t bug you with this issue anymore, my apologies for the repetitiveness, just wanted to be sure you understand the issue before dismissing it. That’s all, my lips are sealed…

And thank you for the amazing product that allows VR fans to experience games in VR. Don’t let this issue make you think I’m not happy with VorpX. I’m truly amazed at how you manage to hack into games and make the VR it’s definitely worth the price of admission for me. No VR = I’m not playing it. For me it’s that simple. So thank you again for making it possible for me to enjoy Starfield.
